Great video! Great to see young people getting into the classics. I also love it that you're a Steelers Fan!! Yup he just rambles thru the 5 right back into the 4. When I first heard it and played to it I thought he was crazy. He's playing the bell of the ride cymbal very distinctively. This is one of fav zep tunes.
Mothership is like a greatest hits.....comprised of songs from a few of their albums. They only put out 9 albums before John Bonham died, plus a live soundtrack.
I must respectfully disagree. They're absolutely in the top 3 of all time, but nobody tops the Beatles in terms of historical importance. I'd even argue that Zep is #2 all time ahead of the Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd.
Michael Whitaker No doubt the Beatles have a special spot in history. And in some ways they were absolutely “next level”. But It’s difficult to fault zeppelin in terms of sheer musicianship, individually and as a collective. They really were the complete musical unit with very few flaws if any.
How can they be the greatest when they stole so much music from other groups? Maybe it's just me but I think it takes away from artists greatness when they didn't create their own art.

This is amazing. The reaction he is having to this song is probably exactly what the Led Zeppelin members had when they first heard the original blues version.
"...I dont know but I've been told, big leg woman ain't got no soul..."
The best line in the song.
Close but i reckon best ever is ... "if my baby don't love me, i know her sister will" :)
ken matheson oh ya that’s brutal..lit!
It’s actually big haired woman got no soul
Gerry Nadon It’s actually not....
The lyric is “big-legged” woman
As a big legged woman, I appreciate that line SO MUCH lmaoooo
This guy is my favorite youtuber to give reactions. His reactions are flamboyant and energetic but authentic. He also is funny af. Love you Shaq.
Man, you're the best! I love watching your reactions to Rock & Metal songs.... you're a music fan thru & thru!
He's only just becoming a music fan :)
Best rock group of all time
It's funny how this song has that deep soulful groove feel that makes you want to move, while at the same time totally confusing your timing.
**3/4 noises**
I'll admit, I've known the song for decades now, been able to play it on bass for the better part of a decade, and still couldn't tell you what the signatures are or when they change LOL
@@missbelled6700 im a drummer and ive played this song for a year and i have no clue what’s going w the timing lol
@@tommylosier7648 Hahaha when I play along with the track I just listen for John clicking the band back in (and then guessing on the 2nd verse because it's right on the click beat)... can't imagine trying on drums, god save me if I ever had to count it.
So now as I listen to the radio I think to myself "oh my man Shaq needs to react to this song". How the hell did you take over my life/mind? Lmao!
Coach i been requesting forever to do Led Zepplin 'When the levee breaks'
I never ever ask but please guys Like so he can see this one!!
He did already

I've been waiting for your monthly Led Zeppelin review. Excellent!
Like Christmas🎅 in July when I see you doin' Zep Shaq👍
He should give "Traveling Riverside Blues" a go.
You are killing me! You bounce from stank face/head banging to shocked/clutching your pearls!! 🤣
Led Zeppelin whole lotta love or the lemon song.
And if not the Lemon Song, Bron Yar Stomp!
I can just picture his reaction to the lemon song
He will lose his damn mind when he hears the Lemon Song.
The live version of Whole Lotta Love. .
Love this dude! New drinking game whenever he says "hold up "take a drink
also y'all and bro!
Bruh
We’d be shitfaced fast lol
"My guy"
That’s tough
Great video! Great to see young people getting into the classics. I also love it that you're a Steelers Fan!! The "bell" that you were talking about around 4:48 is called the bell portion of the cymbal that John Bonham was playing- that is the part of the cymbal right in the middle that protrudes up. Keep up the great energy and fun!
Hey Shaq Mothership is a greatest hits album, thats why it has all led Zeppelin bangers on it =)
Bonus for pulling out "flabbergasted" 😂😂 awesome react!!
He's discovering music from the brief era in human history where the best music was created and will never be created again.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS
Facts. I'd sacrifice damn near anything to bring this era of music back to the front.
Truth. Preach it.
You do realize that music like this is still coming out regularly, right? It might not be popular anymore but there are some INCREDIBLE bands coming around these days!
@@themadthrasher5000 Maybe, but no Led Zeppelin, Status Quo, The Who, Genesis...

Aka: the bell of the ride.
I was coming to comment the same thing but scrolled down to see if someone beat me to it!

Yup ride that bella hella
More cowbell!😁

The Mighty Led Zeppelin, one the most influential bands of the 70’s killer, all band members very talented, Page, and Bonzo, Plant, Jones, perfect Storm
I love how you mix it up with the genres. I hear my favorite zeppelin tunes and learn about other genres (hip hop) as well. Would you ever consider talking about your favorite reactions and why? I and many others would love to hear that!
I love it all also from classic rock to old school hip hop not so much into new school black moon, big daddy Kane, Snoop, etc
Mothership is like a greatest hits album coach. Songs are from different albums. They are all great! You gotta check out "The Crunge"
Spencer Smith I’m sorry but The Crunge has gotta be Led Zeppelin’s worst song
@@isaiahmiller8550 apology accepted
@@isaiahmiller8550 i guess you never found the bridge
Nicely done...I heard this song for the first time when I was probably 14 (50 now) and felt the same way you did! "I wasn't ready for all that"....PERFECT. You Rock!
love the hip hop songs and vids, but man im still a fan of this classic rock. something special about every single noise being made by a dude with an instrument.
Nothing beats real music
Ted Nugent - Stranglehold
You’ll love it, coach. I ain’t ever told a lie
Bad. Ass
I'll second that.Saw Ted play it live for the 1st time back in 1975.Never forget it.Live video of "Hibernation" from back then really good also,a total gtr instrumental,no vocals.
Epic song
Now that was FUN!! You are now touched by the Led. I'm 62 years old and still turn it up LOUD!!! Thanks! I enjoyed this very much! I'm learning new lingo. I'm thinking to listen to some rap and hip hop and put up my reaction! Keep doing what you do! You are making the world a better place!!
You want a Zeppelin song that's epic and relentless from start to finish, go with Achilles Last Stand.
I don't think he can handle it.
Zep don’t know the rules with that one my guy!... I’m still waiting for that reaction
My fave Zep song, masterpiece!!!!
Big Facts
Lance Uppercut bro that one breaks all the rules I don’t think shaq is ready for that one
Zeppelin definitely Greatest Rock band Ever..Yes mothership is legendary as is every Zeppelin album.. Always love it when you you do Zeppelin or Floyd
Skynyrd > Zeppelin
Led Zep's music is based on old school African American blues music. They rocked it up and this is the result. So awesome to see a young fella fall in love with it :)
Man please listen to Ozzy Osbourne with Randy Rhodes on guitar. He is one of the best guitarist you will ever hear. Listen to Crazy Train or Flying High Again
Flying high again is one of my fav ozzy songs.
I Don't Know!
Over the Mountain!!
Revelation mother earth
Diary of a madman
Now you know why us old fogies cranked it up in the 70s :)

@@johnlang1963 You're right, Ten :) These poor young today have had to live under "big brothers" watch (internet and FB) where everything they did was recorded and sent out for their whole world to be judged, mocked or praised so they have never experienced true freedom to rock and roll, dance and play so in a sense, they will never be allowed to be "old" because they were never allowed to be young :I

I haven't vibed to this song that hard in years, you've got a contagious energy
Led Zeppelin isn't head bopping music, it's meant to keep you off beat but be together at the same time. That's the musical brilliance of this tune.
Led Zeppelin - "In My Time Of Dying" has one of the best Jon Bonham's drum work

Nick agreed, one of my all time favs
Been listening to Led Zeppelin, Rush, AC/DC and other Rock Bands since I was 8 years old and still Rockin to it.
How can anyone thumbs down this jam or our man's reaction?
Impossible not to love this play...
The guitars go time 5/4 to 4/4 and back while the drums stay 4/4 the whole time
They did quite a bit of odd time signature songs. Check out The Crunge
John Bonham was the glue
You ruined the end of the movie for me. LOL.
They guitar and bass are playing in 9/8 time the drums 4/4. They go into that in the video what makes john bonham so good.
Yup he just rambles thru the 5 right back into the 4. When I first heard it and played to it I thought he was crazy. He's playing the bell of the ride cymbal very distinctively. This is one of fav zep tunes.
I used to play this constantly and my mother would be yellin at me to stop. I would just crank it and slam the door...how awesome to be 15
Right?!
Your mom and my mom probably knew one another!
Mothership is like a greatest hits.....comprised of songs from a few of their albums. They only put out 9 albums before John Bonham died, plus a live soundtrack.
And that my friend is why Led Zeppelinn is the greatest rock band of all time.....period!😎
I must respectfully disagree. They're absolutely in the top 3 of all time, but nobody tops the Beatles in terms of historical importance. I'd even argue that Zep is #2 all time ahead of the Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd.
Led Zeppelin definitely stand the test of time!
@@michaelwhitaker9719 The Beatles were child's play compared to Led Zep. Vey bubble um music.
Keep it coming....
You have a natural joy in your face as you listen which is great to see but then your comments are always funny...
Love the music but really love these videos.
