How To Remove Stuck LawnTractor (Riding Mower) Wheels~ Axel Maintenance (Craftsman) - Навчання та стиль
This was excellent! Thank you! My husband is working out of town and I had to have my tractor tire fixed which means I had to remove it. I got the rubber hub and the c clip off but the wheel was stuck! Thank you!
Great!!
Glad to have helped and thanks for posting!!
Good tips! I don't have a torch or air hammer, I use harmonic balancer puller and impact. Always prep them in advance. The mower looks great!!! Later...
I should do a video on that too. I must admit, the air hammer when it works is easy
Thanks for sharing your idea
I’ve never seen a mower waxed and shiny in West Texas Yet
You’ll really do make them shine and look great 👍 😊
Thanx again,,,,,,,the power of clear!
Mower had the wowzer shine to her buddy, good video with great tips have a good one Arch.
Hi. A little late but I’ve got a craftsman tractor YT4000 and, yes, stuck rear wheel. However, I’m actually inquiring about the ‘bearing’ at 7:50+ in this video. Cannot find any but I’m almost sure I can use some galvanized tubing fir it. The ‘bearing’ shown in the video. The one I have is buggered on the ends (mushroom) and I feel the one I haven’t gotten off will be the same. Just want to replace them. Let PB Blaster set on it a day or so. No luck. Now getting ready to use 44 mag on it. I’ll follow the video.
I have tried the puller and it got no where
When you say "Bearing" I think your referring to the Spacer. Any steel tube that fits and is the correct size should work. Some newer models use plastic which is nice as there really isn't any sizeable "bearing load" and plastic is easy to get off.
If you can get the wheel off then a cut off wheel can be used to slice the spacer length wise. Just be careful and use a sharp chisel to help separate it. Naturally, try not to damage the shaft!
Careful with heat close to the transmission as there is a simple rubber seal or O ring and it is easily damaged. Keep a wet rag around when using heat. if the wheel hub is really stuck, get it hot then quench is with a hose and try a few times. It will eventually come off however I have met a few machines where rust wins!
Heat is the best way to get it off and a puller to speed it up, cheap puller will do it 😊
Yup,, I could use a specific puller,, probably should make one...
Casey says he uses a harmonic balancer puller...I should have one of those somewhere.
@@TheNovaJohni love the wheels with the holes allready in them
Makes it so easy to put my puller on it
As always Thanks for information and videos
I’m retired diesel mechanic and have small engine repair business
No time to make videos 😊
@@philliphall5198 Ohh c'mon,,,,make a few!
I often don't have much time either but it gets easier as time passes,,,at 1st its a horror
I can’t stand stuck wheels! I have a hydraulic puller I use, works great!
Nize,,,I dont have a hydraulic one but I may try what Casey uses!
Thanks for watchng
I use a perpower and a bracelet I built to fit holes in wheels, if not I drill two holes
the air gun makes things easy..i dont have one..i have a snowblower and the tire is flat and the tire and rim is practically glued to the crack bar thing..its ridiculous idk how to get it off to change the tire..
I have had the same thing happen to me the one wheel was on a poluan XT I used a harmonic balance puller to remove it the wheel was just like the.one you are working on the wheel has to holes in it so the harmonic balance puller will help you get the wheels off see you later young man 😎 be safe out there also
That's what the other fella's use, I would like to do a video on that too. I was thinking of making a dedicated puller for it as well.
When they het stuck bad, the torch may be the only way
@@TheNovaJohn that is so true I would like to try the other method you use the air hammer .
When it’s new best to antiz it or you’ll wish you did later
Yea,, or ya mechanic will wish ya did hehehehe
Wire brush where e clip goes
Makes it easier to pull of your
If E clip rusty replace it or it will break
yUP,,,
Once we get these cleaned and greased its easy to maintain!
Hey, Arch. Just pressure washed for the first time ever a piece of equipment - a 32-year-old Homelite XL chainsaw. I sprayed it with SuperClean first. That’s the last time I ever try to scrape off caked-on gunk and use brake clean or used fuel/oil mix. That saw looks brand new and it was done in less than 10 minutes! Now I know why you have that round metal grate table around back. 👍🔧🧰
That's Awesome!! Yup, that table is very useful fer sure!
I'm at the point where I just cant work on machines that are a mess!
Arch's Garage Don’t want to work on filthy plus no reason to take chances getting debris inside. Put the saw in front of a small electric heater I have going on in the garage so it should be good and dried out by tomorrow. When it gets nicer weather I’ll use your method of putting it out in the sun to dry. See - I’ve been paying attention! 😉👍🔧🧰
Arch's Garage Oh, and also used compressed air. Pressure washer beat everything else no contest.
@@Rein_Ciarfella Absolutely,,,Having old crap falling in while trying to make it better,,,,you got it!!
& Its much more enjoyable!
Always use antiseeze and place on axles then turn then clean the redo. These are crazy
Pretty rare that manufacturers use grease or anti-seize.
some machines sold in box stores were built by workers on the sales floor, they never used anything and even so called mechanics cant be bothered!
When you can't get the plastic cap off, that is time to quit.
