Really enjoyed that video Wayne. I enjoyed your chatting as you relaxed and paddled. You are truly in your element on the water, I can tell. More instructional canoeing videos would be very well received I think. Keep em coming my friend! Wade
Thanks Wade, I think you're right ...Canoeing is where i am most comfortable. I did much more canoe camping when I lived in Ontario and Quebec, i have to take the time and discover more areas around here. Thanks for watching buddy ( :
Great looking chili Wayne! I got to tell ya when you were talking about the brook trout in that river I was thinking.... If he doesn't pull out a rod he is going to hear it!!!. I am hoping to get a canoe someday soon. There is nothing more relaxing than just floating along with a line in the water. That's the new pot you were telling me about. Looks nice. What a beautiful spot I think a canoe and a river like that would get me divorced. I would be interested in a canoe series. I'm a self taught canoe hack. I could use a few tips. I'd tune in for sure. Great video brother. Have a great week!
Lol !!...Thanks Mark...the water is way too cold, i would say another week of warmer weather and the trout should start to feed !!. I really could spend all my time on the water and for me canoeing has been a way to get to places that would otherwise be inaccessible .
Keji is a place to fall in love with! I have paddled a lot of the backcountry there and it never gets old, actually it becomes an addiction! LOL Hope you enjoy your trip and thanks for sharing your day on the river. :)
It is a great way to explore places you could not get to or that would be very difficult to get to. I t was the highways of the Canadian interior and still is !! Thanks for watching and commenting Martin ( :
Hi Wayne, that was a very pleasant canoe trip. Personally, I'd be happy to watch canoe tutorial type videos from yourself. In time it's something I'd like to get into when I'm living back in Scotland. So any tips, and hints prior would be well received. Thanks for sharing buddy, take care.
I hope to get back into it soon, between healing a torn knee ligament and a new job i just haven't had the time !! Thanks for commenting and I will do my best to get some vids out !
Looked like a great time Brother! It seems strange to me when I hear people say "I'm looking forward to summer" they're so brutal in the South. Wish I could spend them up there ... sigh Thanks for taking us along Steven
Nice skills on the canoe, I was wondering if the fire ban would include the twig stoves myself I was sticking to gas stoves ,keep them coming I also agree with the how to video about canoe sounds like a good idea
I think the twig stove are considered "controlled fire"...to be totally honest i'm not sure...i will look into that !. Thanks for watching and commenting ( :
Another propulsion method I don't see much is the pole, I really like the pole. It provides a challenge, and give the canoeist a different perspective, the ability to move around in the boat a bit too. Great for shallow streams and small swifts. Yes, it seems like we had a long winter then spring really hit. Its getting nicer for sure. Nice paddle techniques.
Thanks !!, Canoeing and camping for me go hand and hand...there is no better way to get to those hidden spots that are only made available from doing some water travel. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment !
Thank you so much !! it was developed after many years of paddling solo. It really is worth the practice, it makes canoeing so much more pleasurable especially in windy conditions !. I appreciate you taking the time to comment ( :
@@highlandtrekker , what I see with your stroke is great coordination and not to much forward reach meaning that your keeping a lot of power on the paddle as it is more in the water than not.. Be well.
Been a very long winter, 40”’of ice on the inland lakes here in and around Thunder Bay, gives us June July and August for summer. Still 2’ of snow in the bush in some areas and calling for rain and snow tmrw (thursday). Swift canoes are great canoes. Be lucky here if ice is off the inland lakes for May long. Cheers Fred
Yowzer !!, we were lucky this winter as far as snow accumulation but this is the first time for me seeing a fire ban in April !!. Thanks for watching and commenting ( :
I love to canoeing myself,a few years ago i did a trip of 12days in the south of France. Did you make any modifications to your new and lighter canoe? Good choice on the knife
Hey Steve, The only modification i made to the canoe is i added kevlar end pads to protect the front and back. It is not as light as those super light weight canoes...it is made of expedition grade kevlar so it weights about 48 pounds. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment buddy !! ( :

There is nothing like the simplicity of a paddle,a brew and a cook-up.I really enjoyed your trip up river.Regards,Andy.
Thanks Andy and your so right, it's the simplicity of it all that makes it so enjoyable !
Great day out. Time to get my kayak out of storage. Thanks for sharing Wayne. A canoeing how-to video series would be appreciated.
Thanks Mark, Hope to get out and do an overnighter on a lake on some crown land soon !

For us who enjoy canoeing and other water sports the coming of spring is a real big deal lol !!. Thanks for watching and commenting buddy ( :
That is a cool collapsible fishing pole.
Just a inexpensive Walmart special but it does the trick for small streams !.
