Best kind of exploring, down back roads and finding what you find. lol Your right about hammock camping, especially in Nova Scotia. It opens up lots of country to camp since we have rocky, uneven terrain. I find that hammocks are also super comfy. Thanks for sharing!
I bought a real inexpensive hammock with a fly net and tarp, I've heard both version of comfort and really hope i enjoy it Jacqueline because one of the biggest challenges here in N.S. is like you said ...uneven ground or very dense forests !!. Thanks for taking the time to comment !
Hi Wayne, good to see you back. What a great place to discover. Hope you got the Labour Day trip in. I have had a year with no canoe camping, but hope to get out into Algonquin Pk before Thanksgiving. Be well.
Hey good hearing from you Mark ! Ya i decided to get out and record...nothing fantastic especially with a phone but it was a start lol. This area is more towards or passed Hubley....these back roads could almost take you into Windsor. Looking forward to go canoe camping there !!!
Not sure of the lakes exact name but yes it is on the Mersey land... the entrance is off the 103 near Tantallon and these back roads go all the way passed Windsor
It would be interesting to see if you like hammock camping I myself have never tried it ,it sounds interesting just not sure how comfortable it would be especially where I’m a stomach sleeper most times,
I really don't know how the hammock deal will go but i'm keeping an open mind about it. Here in Nova Scotia the forests are so thick i could definitely see the advantage !...Thanks for taking the time to comment
I can see the advantages being off the ground ,it might be worthwhile to try,I’m also in Nova Scotia and enjoy your canoe trips. Was that area on the mainland or Cape Breton
Hammock camping can be a good choice. I suggest an underquilt as it gets cold from underneath. My first hammock trip I also brought a small tent as backup.
Wow, that's just a great adventure - such a Nova Scotian thing to do, put in a canoe some backwoods lake. Enjoyed!
Thanks, It is quite the Canadian thing to do !! Thanks for taking the time to comment

Looked like a great spot ,good to see some new video ,I assume that bridge may have been part of a trans Canada trail or atv trail ,nice area
Hey Wayne, I was so excited to see a new video of yours pop up. The road in to the lake looked familiar. Off the 103 around Ingramport?

Great video. What lake is that? I'm in the Halifax area. My guess is somewhere in the old Bowater Mersey land?

@@highlandtrekker Yeah, I think it might be Rees Lake. Google Earth shows a nice sandy beach and then a bridge before turning into Island Lake.
@@StevenZinck Cool !,,,I moved back to Cape Breton and will be doing some lost canoe routes up this way
Hey Wayne, great video it's been a while! Glad to see you back brother👍

Your safety inspection sticker looks suspicious
