This would have been a good video, had you not repeatedly failed to identify the clear sexual motive for two of the murder cases. If we cannot name the issue - male sexual violence - we cannot recognise it, or hope to prevent future sexually-motivated murders/assaults, and keep potential victims safe.
That you concluded with the infamous Gabby Petito case, a woman brutally murdered by her controlling, abusive boyfriend Brian Laundrie, who then took the coward's way out and escaped justice by committing suicide as quote: "A tragic end to two young lives", is a staggering insult to the victim.
Why would you put a murderer and domestic abuser's self-serving suicide( to escape prison), in the same category of tragedy as his evil and depraved murder of a woman?
The casual misogyny and repeated minimising of male crimes of violence against women in this video is not just disappointing - it's actually pretty disturbing!

I'm not down playing the severity of his actions but the fact that toxicology found no substances in his system says to me the man was severely unwell and not in his right mind. Calling him a monster is stigmatising and selfish is not the right word. It's still tragic.

This is a prime example of why men cannot be allowed to invade the public spaces, including ladies' toilets, designated for women and girls.
Unfortunately a percentage of ALL males are a danger to females, however those men dress or 'identify', and there is no way of knowing who is safe/unsafe to be around.
That's why no males should invade female public spaces/facilities such as toilets, changing rooms at stores and gyms etc, women-only hospital wards, domestic violence shelters, prisons etc.
Decent men who respect women and girls, understand and respect this fact, and wouldn't dream of invading female boundaries by invading the public spaces meant exclusively for women and girls.
I remember that case. I'd forgotten all about that heinous crime. That guy is a real POS.

Had a friend growing up that (for still unknown reasons) stabbed a lady at a gas station, stole her car going down the road the wrong way and hit an elderly couple head on killing all three in the crash. Still can’t understand why he had to take innocent lives before/while taking his own…
simple answer is lack of empathy. people like that form a lot of resentment and anger aimed outwards, blaming others for their problems and lashing out at the world. i have a lot of issues but i'd never hurt anyone else if i ever decided to end myself, because i was raised with a very strict sense of empathy for other people.

I can't believe his story! "She got hurt hiking so I killed her because that's what she would have wanted?!?!?!" Really? An injury constitutes murder? I don't think so.

Agreed if you listen to the cops body cam footage he clearly admits that when they got into a heated argument he would try to distance himself by locking her in the van. Nobody, Nobody does that, this is completely controlling behaviour. The poor girl.
i remember johnny depp said he would lock himself in the bathroom and would tell amber that he didnt want to argue anymore and just be alone. amber wouldnt leave him alone. i'm guessing gabby just kept coming at him she couldnt stop talking and so he just lost his mind. it looks more and more like a lot of us are just better off being alone in the world because a relationship is really just a contest of who is the bigger man it has nothing to do with love at all. it is very odd a person looks like a good person and young and beautiful but inside a monster.

Not trying to excuse what she did at all, and also just speculating here, but if - IF! - she was in an abusive relationship, it is often literally impossible for the person to do anything, even if the abuser hurts your own family 😢 Again, not an excuse and only a speculation.

Regarding the Death Car segment, I actually used to live in San Diego and I knew a girl whose brother was friends with that guy. And the most f*cked up part of it is that for the longest time you could actually see/feel the exact spot where the cars collided on the highway. It left a large, black, deep scar in the road. Just heartbreaking...

That was intense. I remember the 2 Manchester girls, the big man hunt, it was constantly on the news. In Ireland there was a deep sense of mourning for them. I remember back then there always was when a child went missing or died like that.

I remember the media saturation of Gabby's death, and him hiding and refusing to talk to authorities, and that he escaped into the wilderness, but I never heard they eventually found him.

I live in San Diego and at the time didn't work far from the 805 ramp McSkillet killed himself and the mom and daughter on. Really shook me up at the time.

I live in San Diego and commuted on the 805 daily for years. One of my coworkers was sideswiped by a black sports car that was entering the freeway the wrong way and way too fast. Later as the articles started going around, she recognized McSkillet’s car. He could have hurt/killed so many people that day.

The Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman officially ended the 90s for me. I realise that sounds silly being 2002 and all but hear me out. I was their same age and I grew up on a cul de sac with a small park in it. All the kids used to come out and play until the late evening, up to around 10 pm. They used to come from the neighbouring streets as well. My father used to let me walk by myself a mile down the street to go to Mcdonalds or to get sweets from the shops, but after this it shook the whole country. All of a sudden kids werent playing outside any more and I wasnt allowed to walk anywhere by myself until I started going to high school. When kids did actually come out and play they were gone by the afternoon. I think it taught all the parents how dangerous it can be outside.

About the first story, of the teaching assistant and her boy friend murdering the two girls... I'm glad she was prevented from publishing her story. In America, that's automatically illegal. No criminal is allowed to profit from the story of their crimes. They can tell their story-- they just cannot be paid for it. Not that I'm bragging about the US in any way, especially not today.
About that last story, of the couple who were so active on social media, as well as the young man who was a "skin trader." One thing that has struck me about the internet more than anything else is how, because so much information is out there, so quickly and so many people see it is a totally new kink in man's evolution. That may sound grandiose but it's one thing that has completely changed the dynamics of our whole society, almost over night.
I'm older, in my 60's, and I remember how things were for my generation. There was change enough and people who were my parent's age, couldn't stand it (think of the 1960-1980 time period and all the social changes that came about). Well, since the 1990's to today, that amount of change has increase exponentially, mostly because of the internet. But, most of all, it's changed how we interact, not just because many socialize almost exclusively online, but because we take in so much more information, almost more than we can handle emotionally. There's no processing time. In the two cases, I even wonder if it was this interaction that caused their troubles and demise. As well as the aforementioned problems America is currently facing. It's all driven and expanded because of the internet.

Being from the UK and only a year or two younger than the girls at the time I remember the case well. The truth is Maxine wasn’t actually there at the time. Ian did it all alone. What she is guilty of is covering for him once she learnt the horrible truth. I agree she should have served more time but she wasn’t involved in the murder. It pays to know the facts of the case.

More context to the whole situation. Basically valve did a crackdown on all csgo gambling due to a class action lawsuit stemming from the availability of underage gambling with skins.
This led to mcskillet getting trade banned due to his involvement in owning some gambling websites. When he was banned he had over $300,000 in csgo skins, prob worth a lot more now, maybe closer to $600,000.
Iirc leading up to his murder suicide, he was becoming a lot more erratic, and on that day he smashed through the gates to an elementary school, saw the new steam banners promoting science, technology, engineering, art, and mathmatics. A lot of us in the cs community at the time believe this is what set him off, and he proceeded to get into a police chase, get on the wrong side of the highway, then crash into the mother and daughter.
I remember hearing the news when it was happening and no one believed it until one of his friends confirmed it. His community standing went from "this guy is pretty chill" to "he can go fuck himself and rot" pretty much instantaneously. Nowadays no one really mentions him at all, even the people he was associates with

Fatal trip to the bathroom- it's insane that a 14yo can kill a teacher, put her in a recycle bin and pull it off of school property and no one bats an eye... Except for the dog ( 8:38 ). The dog definitely knew, but the language barrier can be challenging... Imagine being THAT GUY that looks back and says "OMG there was a body in that bin being pulled by the killer that did it....". Not many of us have proof of walking along side a monster with complete ignorance, but I bet its the eeriest feeling if presented to you

Young people should not do van life for fun. My girl and I did it while working to avoid homelessness on the street. I am RV Park Life now. But my girl took her life from the stress. For weeks, the police investigated me, but in the end, this took place while I was at work on camera. The incident has removed years from my life in stress and made me a shut-in hermit.
That's so tragic man. I'm glad the authorities were able to clear you. I hope you were able to piece together some happiness in the aftermath of all that.

I was completely invested in the Gabby Petito cas. I knew that was bad wh n it first hit the news. Then followed updates over next few long months. Wish he would've just stayed away after he flew back to Florida. Poor Gabby. Sweet baby. RIP.
The van life one made me tear up abit just seeing all there travels and the smiles on there faces made me shed a tear I guess things aren't what they seem sometimes they just looked like such a nice happy couple

@4 minutes - Ian Huntley's motive for killing the two little girls is not 'unknown', as incorrectly stated - that's utterly preposterous! He was a convicted paedophile and sex offender, with a history of rape/sexual assault and predatory conduct against underage, and young girls. The motive for killing the two girls was very obviously sexual.
If you are going to report on true crime cases 'Top 5s', please do so accurately and intelligently. Huntley's double murder conviction for murdering Holly and Jessica (and his rare, 'whole life' prison tariff, meaning he will die in custody), threw up enormous media debate at the time. Because of course, as a convicted sex offender, Huntley should never have been able to get employment as a school caretaker, a trusted position working alongside vulnerable children.
Different police jurisdictions had failed to communicate with each other about Ian Huntley, the system had failed, and a highly dangerous sex predator was able to gain employment at a school, giving him access to child victims. This scandal was huge headline news at the time, and again only confirmed the motive for the child murders was the killer's perverted sexual interest in children,
