Awesome video, THANKS! Just fitted mine and it works promo. I didn’t remove the metal band around the monitor I opted to route a few mm of wood and it fit like a glove. I did have to change the jumpers on the geekworm 1.5 to make it work. Overall very happy.
Just did this mod this weekend. The geekworm 1.5 did not work correctly. Had to use the V20 version. Along with the screen fix file from teamencoder, it worked great! I did indeed add the Marseille mCable Classic in line with the hdmi output.. Gotta say, if you are keeping the pcb stock. This IS A MUST!!! Along with the ability to control the monitor settings, contrast, brightness etc. Adding this just rocks. It upscaled the image to true 1080p AND added anti aliasing. WOW! What a difference. Kept the pcb output in 720p so I didnt lose performance.
Ahh i see what the Marseille is.. There is one with USB support and one that is a hdmi cable for $40 buks. Is the $40 dollar one correct? How would you adjust the settings or does the cable auto upscale
@@pokerlife123 I purchased the mClassic with usb support. No configuration needed, plug and play... Just make sure you leave the pcb at 720p. It will auto upscale to 1080p. The added anti aliasing was the big draw for me. It did wonders for the jagged edges and smoothed out all the artifacts. Since you did the monitor upgrade, you can adjust any video settings you'd like, such as contrast, brightness, sharpness etc.
@@normelder6624 What was the Geekworm LVDS adapter supposed to do? Did you have to bend that box to install the Marseille 1080p adapter? Looks like a lot of work
@@pokerlife123 The geekworm adapter converts the pcb lvds connection to hdmi output. Then just connect an hdmi cable from it to your monitor. The mCable plugs into the geekworm adapter, it's hdmi and is usb powered so you'll need a power source. I purchased a 12v to usb power converter (5.5mm power splitter so I could connect it to the 1up power supply. I made sure it was 5amp rated so I did not lose any current to the system. Under powering any system can cause damage or random crashes.) I did not ruin the case or tear things up. I simply removed the pcb from the metal housing and mounted it to the bottom of the inside cabinet, near the rear left side. Keep in mind, to get the geekworm adapter to stay stable, you will need to load a file to your pcb. Its not just the hardware mod...its also the software. The process can be a bit intrusive and requires a bit of technical skill. I also loaded all the extra 1up tables, zen pinball etc. after the hardware mod was complete.
Great mod. How is it playing and how are the graphics? Planning on doing this, too. Have you considered adding an Marseilles mCable mClassic to upscale it to 1080p and add anti aliasing to smooth out those jaggies? It should be easy since you've already added the hdmi converter.
@@markr2370 Nope. Once I de-cased the monitor and took the part off for the stand, I left the metal around the edges of the monitor. It was a tight fit but it worked.
I just did this a few days ago with an LG 32GN650-B that is 2K and 165 hz, but I am running my own computer outside of the machine, and not using Arcade1Up's board. It just barely fit. I was able to keep the metal brace that is by the ribbon connectors to the display on so that I did not damage anything while placing the screen. For anyone who does this or a similar mod, make sure that the longest bottom of the screen, which has the display control stick, is installed on the left side of the playfield.
Hello. Just did this as well. I am waiting on my glass to come in. Did you push the monitor all the way down to the bottom brace. I feel like when you put the chrome bar on it will cut off lower part of screen
Can you post the link for the software patch? I've been searching everywhere and can't find it. Just leave it as a comment if you can't link it above please. Others need it as well. Thank you.
Couple of questions. 1) Did you replace the original glass or just left it out? 2) When I try to search for the monitor it keeps coming up with a 32MN50W-B. Is that the same monitor?
Great video! This will be very helpful to people! Nice work!
Thanks Charlie, I couldn't of done any of this without Ben from Team Encoder.

Wow, I just ordered the screen to do this too. Any over heating issues with 1080p upgrade? Also what is HDMI converter, do i need to order that also?

Glad to hear you got it! I’m definitely not handy or construction savvy but didn’t think it was too bad.
Please do a video of gameplay especially pinball arcade on the modded screen

Also worth noting that I did not remove that metal frame from mine and was able to get it to fit.
Good to know for the next two.
You didn't remove any of the metal? Thanks

@thechampagneroom1if Im using a PC I don't need any HDMI converter correct? I can just connect the monitor directly to the PC?
@thechampagneroom1 nice!! Thank you so much 👍
@thechampagneroom1 also do I need to get a custom glass made to go on top or no glass is needed. Can't find any info on this. Thanks again.
Is there room for a 1/4" thick tempered glass display to fit on top of the monitor with the chrome trim on?
Yes, but it’s tight.
Did you use the geekworm 1.5 or V20? Thanks
It's a 1.5
Thanks
Well thanks as I got the LG and Geekworm on the way…this helps … how difficult was that patch.. team encoder part?
Glad this helps Tobi! Thanks to Ben from Team Encoder for guiding me.
Any chance you can put in a link to the converter board u purchased. The one u show @ 1:18. Thanks
I got 2 new ones. What's your address? Are u in US? Will u cover shipping?
@Mralanc you still have the new converter board? I need 1 set.

I pushed the screen to the top.
@@Mralanc oh ok. What size glass did you use. The one Cooltoy showed in his video.
Does it still have the haps when you hit the buttons?
Yes. Even the zen tables have the haps.
It would be super helpful if you listed it linked the patch that was needed.
Im trying to add links now.
Great job! Wish me luck I’m doing mine just waiting for board and monitor to arrive
Exciting!
Could you do a how to video for the screen patch? 🙏 The team encoder instructions are still confusing to me.
Sorry it was very harsh for me and I don't remember how.
No worries, I read through it enough to get the gist of it.
Can a newer 32" LG monitor be used lke the LG 32GN650?
There's a few different monitors that work. I used the LG 32MN60T-B.
Me too! Are you using a stock PCB?

Can you provide the links to the parts you used? I have the monitor from your video.. the video encoder is what I am looking for.
Anyone know what mod he did that has all those games and that setup screen?

I didn't use any glass. I'm not settling if that's the same model tv. Thank you.
My like is for the kitty, ALP is better!
:)
ALP monitor is trash…60hz is too slow for vpin
For $599, thats the size screen it should have had from arcade1up originally.
I agree.
Sure. But for $599 you are still going to get a 60hz screen that would need to be replaced with a faster screen anyway.
Thank you very much!
Yw
all over the place my man! e for effort
Thanks man, means a lot!
Show some gameplay
I uploaded a game0lay video for you now.
Can you come to my house and do this...
