Outside of allowing me to choose the skill level difference between me and my opponent - this was pretty bad. I have zero interest in being forced into play 3 V 3, arcade style, shorter periods etc. in Rivals. That should be a 5 V 5 simulation style hockey mode, simple as that. The fact that the first 3 week themes are Burst, Arcade and then 3v3 means you have to wait until almost mid-November before getting classic 5v5 action. Extremely disappointing and a very unwelcome change.
You can edit players in the menu and it transfers over to your franchise mode as long as you create a new franchise after editing the players, hope this helps :)

I dont get it man, why is it always one step forward two steps back. Yea cross play and new matchmaking is great but why am I forced to play certain modes now. Why can't 5v5 and the weekly mode be on at the same time. I only played rivals last year and now you can only play 5v5 in champs? When 5v5 is what most people want to play to begin with and now I can only play it certain times in the week or when its in the rotation. pretty disappointed to hear about the changes regarding rivals this year.

See for me personally being in probably the top 50 players, rivals was so monotonous and became a chore to play, harder than champs most times that a change like this feels necessary . Zegras just with the cover star treatment for start of hut, quite unimportant. Hut card ovrs always are completely different from base game anyway for the purpose of special cards
The lack of Canes content is always disappointing. They have been a top team in the league the last few years. Somehow Aho got a -1 from last year and is now an 83 in HUT. They acquired Burns and Paccioretty in the offseason, one of those wouldve been perfect for the spotlight MSP over Letang.
I’m all for adding women to HUT. The only thing is they’re all under 5’6. Are they going to be usable if every male player can nudge them off the puck by breathing on them?
@@Bruinsduck Makes sense from the gameplay perspective. They're so much smaller that they won't hit well no matter what, and boosted checking category +balance compensate the size also when they're hit. Also enables ea to make some other attributes lower to not make those op
Idk about everyone else but as a player who has been playing since nhl 13 and finishes in top 100 in champs quite a bit i find all this exciting and finally maybe feel closer to what everyone wants
I’m a similar player as you but I don’t like the new rivals. Rivals should be practice and an opportunity to try out players/tactics before Champs. Now it’s just rush with better rewards.
Same here I’ve played since 13 and I sit around the 300 range for champs and I don’t spend money on the game so not having 5v5 rivals is gonna hurt me a lot. As every purchase of a player is a lot for me because if I don’t like them, it’s very rare I can sell them for the same price. there is no use getting a guy if all I can do is play 3v3 or some arcade mode where you can’t really see how the player will perform in a champs setting.
Still nothing mentioned about Be a Pro, which either means you’re being secretive about the updates to the mode(unlikely), or you did literally nothing to improve the mode and it’s gonna be the exact same as NHL 20, 21 and 22
What I'm kinda upset about, is that ever since they brought in alumni player's into the game, & hut, they have gretzky, lemieux, & Ray bourque, but they've never put in the greatest defenseman of all-time, Bobby Orr, I know it's minor, & really just nitpicking, but I'd at least like to see him added to the game, I feel that if you've got Bourque in the game, but not Orr, then what's the point in having a bruins alumni team, without the greatest bruin, you've everyone but Orr.
I'd argue if Orr hadn't suffered from his knees, & Lemieux hadn't got the back cancer, they very well could've passed Gretzky, & I'm a die hard oilers fan.
