They skipped/did not show goals replays. NHL 24 had horrible goal replay. You were not able to see how the puck got in the net. Nothing changed it seems. And their comment at the third goal “how did it happened?!?!” speaks for itself. And lastly, yes, they did not play the game well and did not used unique/ new features.

"Real collision physics" has been an EA marketing buzzword for at least a decade across all their games. Problem is most collisions are animated and the rest is bots running into each other away from the play.

Dude seriously. I'll take a real arcade style hockey game without the NHL license over this tired franchise. At least there it wouldn't feel as exhausting running up the score and constantly tweaking sliders.

It’s a copy and paste last 10 years. They only add or delete some movement, and slightly increase the graphics. Even tho graphics have been the same since 19/20

Nice to see the backhand floaters still go in more reliably than cross creases
EA needed to add all those animations where goalies flail across the crease to make insane saves on every backdoor chance. If a puck hits a goalie in the chest though, no chance he's stopping that one.

I see pretty much the same exact gameplay as 24.
It's amazing when your cover athletes stopped playing one of your games cause of the broken sim engine and you tried to cut that out of the video lol

Where they laterally skate across leaving body opened to a poke check. Which they said is no longer in the game.! Unless it's not in this build. Or u activate it another way

I'm still waiting for the NHL 25 gameplay. Unless you go into forensic mode there is no difference to the gameplay what so ever and Sapien technology doesnt exist in this game at all. Plus from this gameplay ice-q doesnt exist either.

Same shitty solo spotlight celebration, same post game cut scene, same ref animations, same camera angles, AI stumbling in front of players, zero ''skill-based one timers''. Not to mention you guys couldn't even be bothered to update the rosters 🤣🤣 Terrible

Honest question. Do devs play their own game? I see in this video the “double pass” is still a problem. When the AI has the puck and you tap the “call for pass” button right as they pass it to you and you double pass the puck away. Sooooo frustrating. Simple fix is make the “call for pass” button anything else other than the PASS button 😡😡😡

I haven't tried 25 but 23 was the best for me. I still miss L2+X but growing to like the reverse hit, specially after a pass

This game looks exactly the same, the skating is the same, the passing animations are the same, the catching the pass is the same, the goalie animations are the same, the goal celebration intro are the same, and only thing different is score lock and the grudge match so far as what I see

game looks exactly like nhl 24, i am assuming on franchise mode there is no training camp and better ways to have a roster for preseason instead of going back and forth from nhl to ahl to give prospects and other players given a look to see who makes the cut.

🤣🤣 did they take down my comment?! I said in the first trailer, they showed the D come from behind net doing the L2 skate angling, keeping ur chest facing they play. I think it was Quinn. They also showed it again with Nate doing it around thr net to get to the front. It looked cool. They did not show this at all!!! They even displayed L2, dies the same lateral skate straight across when holding L2. The Vancouver player did it I think in the second period!! Again, showing the new angled skate mechanic is not there! Unless it's not in this build? Or, u perform that skate style another way. Anyhow, just wanted to point that out peeps. Also. This is 2 V 2! The other stuff they talked about with Offline AI.. while this was cool to have the Hughes Brothers here, it doesn't show us the upgraded "AI" offline which is what I'm most interested in. For your team and computer.

Goal celebrations remain awful again. Not much in the way of gameplay features. Quinn seems the only one to have at least some minimal interest in the game and Jack clearly didn't want to be there. Hard to see what is different from 24
If they can only play the game casually, and not using any of the "new" gameplay control in the game, that doesn't make me want to buy the game, quite the opposite. It was bad to watch.
And using an old vidéo of them playing (before the august photoshoot), so, an old build, is also bad.
Note to EA, use people who know how to play the game, and CAN use the feature you need to show (and sell) to us.
Totally disappointed might be the least popular nhl game to date sales wise. Waiting until Christmas get it 50% off

Honestly, the gameplay looks kinda similar to last year, but I'm still super curious about the new features. I really hope the AI upgrade makes a big difference in how we play against the CPU! 🤞🎮

The EA loading screen in between a goal and the celebration is abysmal. Please also I’d love to know how it’s possible that NHL 23 on PS5 had better loading times and no loading screen for goal celebrations. It takes at least 30 seconds minimum to just load into world of chel on nhl 24
