I agree you should be able to talk to more than 2 teams in free agency and you should be able to sit down and negotiate your contract and pick the amount and term not two years this would be so cool I love the mode but it needs work it could be so much more than it is

You know it's EA when the deep dive on game modes is a 4 minute video. Instead of listening to UA-camrs that you pay why not listen to the actual fan base. We didn't need a trailer on the updates to presentation, after watching the confetti streamers clipping through the ice during the Stanley cup presentation it really shows how much thought and care you put into the trailers for this game and the game itself. Take 2 years to make the next game or something because a new game by EA every year isn't new, it's a $90 update ffs.
for franchise mode, get rid of coach schemes and line fit. its too annoying especially when fog of war is off and doesnt show the players play preferences. add a practice mode that can be played or simmed to give stat/natural growth to players

I mean, Franchise Mode is basically Be A Gm. It wouldn’t make sense to control 2 teams, just like it wouldn’t make sense to control every player in Be a Pro. If you want to control multiple teams, there is still Season mode

my real question is, can you add custom teams to the league? Like can you name all your divisions and conferences so its a nice organized league? And then add custom teams so I can live my dreams of seeing a complete 48 team league with new/reappearing teams?

There is a few new things. You can recreate your own franchise league, even using the original 6. There is also the SHL addition this year. (Swedish Hockey League)
have been creating the jerseys for my team since NHL 09, ranked first in the world on ps4 on NHL 20. And I'm so happy that you added content for the jersey thank you. But I would like a lot more examples if we could create our own sweaters placed the lines and bars where we want. Also if we could write team names example the ranger sweater with the words ranger written diagonally etc etc....
The custom leagues thing is actually an exciting thought. Any GM nut out there knows at certain years the league becomes clogged with talent or we get over priced player. Expanding the league and salary cap customization can hopefully fix both things.
We added absolutely nothing and made things more unreal with adding random teams to a franchise, which we are pretty sure no one asked for but we threw it in there anyways
The best thing I like about NHL 23 is the custom league franchise mode. I love the fact that I can make any league, with any conference, number of teams, etc. It's absolutely wonderful. I wish you can do it with season mode too.
A nice feature brought back as you could definitely do this in the early to mid X360/PS3 days. You could also Create Plays and use them for online versus. It was a pretty nice feature where you could create a trigger on the ice for certain situations (like skating behind the net) and then record where you wanted your other 4 AI players to go. I had a sweet back door play as I recall. Maybe Create A Play (and custom soundtracks) will come back some day too.

Adding cross play is awesome. Adding customization options in franchize is awesome. Adding quality of life changes to EASHL is awesome. However from a modern sports game perspective the amount that gets done from year to year will continue to disappoint me. I wish ea put more money into hiring more developers.
This is literally updates that could be done in a patch. They are charging $60 for patch level updates. Imagine that the big features for EASHL this year is cross play and opening bags quicker SMH.

Only thing you do to Franchise mode is make it to where we can add more teams....like really no thought into maybe making scouting and mainly player development changes at all. Is there even a new animation and such for after your team wins the cup or is it the same as it has been in every game?
Imagine being able to set up franchises in World of Chel and players can join and be designated to teams. That would completely overhaul the LG style experience. Those clubs would be locked to those franchises in a separate mode kinda like ProAM so you wouldn’t have to worry about being a part of different clubs.
If you wanna change the number of games in a season, you can do that. If you want to change the amount of points a win is, you can do that. If you want to change the salary cap, you can do that.

A practice mode would actually be sweet… run through mini game type drills on/off the ice to give you a boost

To future I would also loooove if there was more about the coaches, that coaches were the real ones in the franchise mode and make then make a diference in every mode (even play now), potencially ading coach mode next to the franchise mode and the be a pro....... This game would be unstopable then

Only thing you do to Franchise mode is make it to where we can add more teams....like really no thought into maybe making scouting and mainly player development changes at all.
Is there even a new animation and such for after your team wins the cup or is it the same as it has been in every game?
One thing nhl always gets right in franchise mode is the draft.
Imagine being able to set up franchises in World of Chel and players can join and be designated to teams. That would completely overhaul the LG style experience. Those clubs would be locked to those franchises in a separate mode kinda like ProAM so you wouldn’t have to worry about being a part of different clubs.
If you wanna change the number of games in a season, you can do that. If you want to change the amount of points a win is, you can do that. If you want to change the salary cap, you can do that.

Just say we gave you the options to create a custom league, that's enough. You didn't touch anything else about franchise. Noted....
Question. can you. change the playoff format. in. Season or Playoff Mode ?
I wonder if by entering custom teams, do you have to assign rosters beforehand if they are created teams, or can there be multiple expansion drafts?
what is the max amount of years you can play in franchise? hope they made it more than 25
