i find the ladder stitch my favorite as well. my grandson thinks i'm a magician bc i can fix all of his plushies and "you can"t even tell where the booboo was at Grandma!" lol
I know there is always some waste with sewing projects, but sometimes it blows my mind just how much some folks do waste! I’ve always had to be so frugal over the year it’s hard for me to waste anything. Can’t wait to give this pattern a go. Thank you for the good instructions! 🙂
Really enjoyed this tutorial. I agree ladder stitch is very satisfying. I was sent some medium weight interfacing in error from Amazon, I’m going to make good use of it now! Double layers will be great for a more structured finish. Thanks again for taking your time to do this. I’ve learned a lot. 😊
Thank you for this great tutorial. I'm definitely trying this. You could always fold down the top edge for more stability and sew in place if your machine can handle it 😘 instead of sewing the corners
AWESOME!!! Sew quick & something sew useful!! Thank you Debbie !! I bet everyone will be making these for all of our New Year's Organizering resolutions!!!
Thank you for your excellent video. I used it to create a dust-cover-lid for the box I use to store my thread-cones. Your directions were clear and precise. Best wishes!
This wd be a nice size for charm packs too! And I’ve been looking for some containers to gather my sewing tools. These wd be great bc you can customize the size to your tools. Cd even make it w/a flap for a dust cover! Put a cute little button closure if you like.
Hi Debbie - Awesome box! I’ve made a lot of these over the years. I like your tip about adding a small seam to the outside corners once it’s finished. I will be doing that on my next boxes. So many uses for these boxes! 🎉 Happy New Year!
Decovil Light is expensive so an alternative way to cut is a complete middle section and two end panels cut separately. As it is iron on it would be easy to place these end panels in the right place, then proceed as instructed. This will save you the width of one end panel. If you make more than one box then the savings will quickly mount up. I measured the inside of an Ikea Billy bookcase to make boxes to fit (25 cm x 18 cm base x 18 cm height). I use the boxes to store sewing pattern envelopes.

Thank you so much! I just finished mine and it came out great. Your tutorial was spot on.🥰
SEwing up the sides on the outside at the end made a big difference! Thanks, Debbie!
Thank you Debbie for a great tutorial❤
Great instructions. Also, when your pup barked, both of mine came over to investigate!

The top edge might be a nice place for decorative stitching.

Excellent directions. Makes it so easy to follow along. Thanks.
Great idea! I love it. I have enjoyed watching your sewing ideas. Thank you!
I love this fabric, both the outer and lining fabric would make a lovely garment for a doll outfit. I make American doll clothes ❤️😉
Ohhh thinking this make a cute hamper for Christmas/gift giving.
Am planning on buying some of your fat quarter bundles so this box is a fantastic idea for storing those bundles thank you XXX
These are darling as well as useful. I think ticking would make a great outer fabric or a canvas. There so many pretty prints in canvas now.
Gday Debbie I can think of many uses for a box like this. Great idea sewing tips of corners like that,I must try that. TFS Kathy Sydney Australia. ♥
What a lovely project, very simple and could use up some of these scraps we might have! Thank you Debbie!

Great idea
Hi, why is the lining measurement larger than the main fabric in your instructions please?
Love it Thank You 🙏 ❤️
Can you do this method with any size and shape box?
Happy new year any ideas for gardening freind other thantool bag or carrying holder if possible
This is very useful for so many things. You’ve made it look so easy. Thank you. If I make a bigger one do I have to make the corner cut outs bigger. 😍
I'm going to do a paper version like she suggests, as I was wondering that too and it'll give us an idea of the finished box.
@@elizabethprocter1031 great idea. Thank you.
Very in pressed will try tomorrow
Where do you get the stick fabric
Buenos días muy lindo las cajas xfa las medidas gracias🙏❤️💯
My interfacing says peel the back of as well, did I use the wrong type?
That sounds like fusible adhesive, interfacing doesn’t normally have a peel off back…
Love it
Made one of these, so lovely. Do the corner cut outs need to be bigger if you make a bigger one?
That’s right!
I don't have Decovil light. What can I use instead?
Any firm interfacing would work…
Is fusible fleece strong enough?
It would work but not be as firm as this one
I really like the box you made. Is the decovil available in the USA?
In Canada, it is called Pellon 526 - or something similar. You can probably find a product in the U.S. that is very close.
Thank you. I can buy Pellon. Yay!
You teach well but your tone of voice is so pleasant
Woooooooow 💋👌
Nice tutorial, a bit wordy
