Kaizo Mario (友人マリオ Yūjin Mario) is a Nicovideo phenomenon born from a person's desire to make his friend play his super-hard Mario hack and post the results on Nicovideo (www.nicovideo.j.... By chance, this hack made its fame on UA-cam when a team of Let's Play gamers obtained the hack and recorded a video of them playing it ( • Let´s Play Kaizo Mario... . The most well-known UA-cam video in this series is the first part of ProtonJonSA's attempt of Special Stage 2 and his subsequent nervous breakdown ( • Super Kaizo World - Sp... ).
Kaizo Mario World 3 (友人マリオ3 Yūjin Mario 3) is the third installment (www.nicozon.net...) of the Kaizo Mario series. In addition to the video's popularity, the hack is well-done in comparison to the previous two.
Themes that are common to Kaizo hacks:
* Extremely rigid windows of opportunity, with missed opportunities resulting in death.
* Set-ups that demand the highest caliber of Super Mario World physics abuse.
* Set-ups that require stunts that are tantamount to glitches.
* Traps that cannot be foreseen without knowing that they exist, including but not limited to invisible blocks and being killed after apparently clearing a level.
In this run, ISM and Mister break the game completely with glitches, just as in the 96-exit TAS (tasvideos.org/2...) of Super Mario World. Said glitches involve making things appear out of nowhere, glitching through walls, and carrying Yoshi through to the next level, something not intended by the maker of this hack.

It's always great when the TAS stops input before even killing the final boss. It is the literal definition of "do what you must, i have already won"
There's something unwholesome yet satisfying in watching a TAS break a Kaizo game.

@Andrew Usher Why all the hate? There's lots of stuff you have to consider if you want to do a really good and optimized TAS, especially when you dedicate years of your time working on one game. Look at Pannenkoek2012 and his SM64 stuff, that's some high level college maths he applies for his TAS. I couldn't even be bothered to find a fix for BizHawk crashing every time I hit 'Play' while trying to do a TAS of one of my old GB games once.

Excuse what is TAS
A Tool-Assisted Speedrun (shortened to TAS) does not involve any writing of bots that play videogames but rather humans that use "special" emulators to go through the game using tools that range from frame advance (pressing a button to continue for one frame), rewind (pressing a button to rewind the game by one frame) to LUA scripts that allow you to see specific memory addresses (such as Marios subpixel, Marios speed, RNG seed etc). These inputs get recorded by the emulator and then played back in real time to create a pleasent viewing experience. The confusion of a TAS being a bot stems from GDQ I suppose, but the there used TAS-Bot is just a more fancy input replay device to console verify TASes. Hope I could clear some things up!

Hate this comment all you want, but I think having the yoshi fucked some levels hard. Being able to just go underneath all the obstcals in the underwater levels is super boring... Going through walls whenever you want... I get that it's a TAS and all and to complete the game as fast as possible, but I don't like it.

Not quite right, It is made by humans using various different tools such as, rewind, or frame perfect input that allow people to do things that would be, impractical, impossible, or inconsistent otherwise. Hence the name, TAS(Tool Assisted Speedrun).
