    I brought this issue up a couple years ago - they laughed when I was worried about drowning. You may have to get in and out of water and keep your plate carrier on.

    These plates are perfect for someone like me who over the years has two torn rotator cuffs, a separated ac joint and arthritis in both shoulders. Less than 3 pounds each plate does my shoulder good!!! Can’t wear the 6 to 9 pound plate (each). Adding 12 to 18 pounds plus all the ammo and magazines kill my shoulders. With these light weight plates I’m saving at least 6 to 12 pounds of pressure off. Thanks for the review.

    Hmm.. wondering if my wife would consider it an appropriate anniversary gift?
    Would definitely be better suited for her smaller stature.

    Now that is nice. Love how that pops off. I would love to see if it works as a life vest.

    I personally think 100% through and through UHMWPE plates are not a wise investment in the US unless you absolutely need the buoyancy advantage. Any M855 coming from a 10.5" or longer barrel will defeat UHWMPE plates.

      Are there any 3+ UHWMPE plates?

    • @BuffRANGE
      @BuffRANGE 3 роки тому +1

      @@TrevorSpencer By manufacturers claims sure. But since "+" is a made up term, it means a lot of different things. I'm hoping the new RF1 and RF2 standards drop to help clear this up. There are no NIJ RF2 plates that are 100% UHMWPE currently. At least available to civilians

      If you're taking that round from someone you got bigger problems

    So if I self-identify as a juggernaut I could pair these with 3+ steel and stop harder-hitting rounds and prevent prevent fragmentation in exchange for like five pounds. Do these fit in a carrier alongside another plate? They look a little thicc.

    • @madoric13
      @madoric13 2 роки тому +2

      Ah yes, another juggz. UHMWPE plates tend to be 1”, so I doubt your typical plate carrier will carry both 3+ steel AND UHMWPE (assuming the steel is coated and has padding behind it). It *might* be possible to create some sort of external carrier that simply sits on top of your main carrier. I’ve personally gone down the path of making my own armor for a similar goal.

    So these are independently tested and not nij certified?

    • @BuffRANGE
      @BuffRANGE 3 роки тому +2

      Correct. These are imported and the importer has no control over the original equipment manufacturer, so NIJ Certification I don't think is possible. Individual NIJ threat testing is available though, and should be done on every new lot.

    Which 556 round did you use? Will it stop M855 62gr?

    Your armor reviews would actually be useful if you specified what the ammo you used was. .223 Remington is a useless description. What's the actual load and what's the velocity? A chronograph would be helpful. How about M193 or M855? My advice would be to watch how MrGunsngear does his armor reviews and take some notes.
