"You diabolical dick shrinking motherfuckers", no matter how many time I have watch this movie, that line never gets old. This movie is a true classic and very much under appreciated by the masses, I'm still holding out hope we get a sequel someday. And for those who want some more Black Dynamite after seeing the movie, there was an animated series that stared everyone from the movie doing their voices and it ran 2 seasons.
You can remove "Black Jesus" and replace it with the seminal, immortal "Hollywood Shuffle." Everything that comes after has been fathered by its style.
Growing up as a teen in the seventies I came to love "blaxploitation" films. I love the music and the fashions. Undercover Brother and I'm Gonna Get You SUcka are fun cartoon takes on the genre, but Black Dynamite is THE parody to see. Very nice to revisit it with two of my "favorite internet pals."
I just love, during the scene with the militants, the militant is not just reading his lines, but also the blocking cues in the script. MJW has said this is not parodying all blaxploitation flics, because films like "Shaft", "Superfly" and "Coffee" are actually well made. What is getting parodied is the blaxploitation flick that was made as a cash grab when the aforementioned films were big hits. Problem was these movies had either a real shoestring budget, a crew that had no knowledge of how to make a film, or a combination of the two. Btw, at 23:41, that jump in the car wasn't scripted. The driver (who was a stuntman cast as a hitman) forgot to put the car in park when shooting the take. They thought of doing another take, but when Michael Jai-White and the director looked at the playback, they decided "Well, this is something those blaxploitation flicks would've kept in because of the budget, so let's keep it in.
This is perfect parody. They shot it on 16mm color reversal stock, to really capture that low budget 70s vibe, and if you just saw it casually, without registering the jokes, it could easily be mistaken for the real thing. So many funny references to blaxploitation classics, and the fourth-wall tapping jokes about the low production value (the intrusion of the boom mic, actors changing mid-scene or reading their stage direction out loud, deliberate continuity errors, etc.) add an extra layer of hilarity. Black Dynamite was made by folks with near encyclopedic blaxploitation knowledge, and it shows in every frame.
"Sarcastically, Im in charge" 😂😂😂 bruh this is one of the funniest things in the movie. That character played by an actor so dedicated that he remembers his actin prompts and says then with his lines 😂😂
Possibly the funniest film ever made. "Donuts Dont Wear Alligator Shoes" is possibly the most Ive ever laughed in a film. A film with a similar sense of humor is we hot american summer
Black Dynamite is a combination of several Blaxplotation & Kung Fu movies and T.V. Shows of the 1970's like SHAFT, DOLEMITE, COFFEY, ENTER THE DRAGON, STARSKY & HUTCH, etc. There were alot of people there I'm surprised Michael DIDN'T NOTICE from doing previous reactions on the channel from the movie(s) - LIFE, COMING TO AMERICA. As well as actors seen on iconic shows like IN LIVING COLOR and MAD T.V. Some of the folks you missed were: Arsenio Hall, Phil Morris, Tommy Davidson, Miguel Nunez, Kym Whitley, and the list goes on.
Girl: "Momma said my daddy was named Black Dynamite." BD: "Hush up little girl. Lots of cats have that name." The dialog is such good parody and satire of the movie genres it is paying homage to. This is one of those hidden gems to those like me that grew up with the Kung Fu Cinema and Blacksploitation films. It's like the 70's are back!
20:00 That is Salli Richardson-Whitfield, she was the head of GD in Eureka, which might be the "hospital" but actually a lab Micheal was thinking about. She was aldo the voice of Elisa Maza in Gargoyles (way more of a niche show, I know)
Undoubtedly, *the* single most quotable comedy since Lebowski. But dialogue aside, it's *insane* just how brilliantly put together this thing is from top to bottom - the attention to every single little detail is astounding.
I remember seeing this movie with a friend in New York when it came out, and afterwards my face and stomach were in so much pain from having laughed non stop for 2 hrs.
Glad you guys enjoyed the film! Its such an underrated movie. I feel like its legit one of the best spoofs ever made. Everyone I know who's seen this movie loves it, but its also never talked about really in mass audiences. And outside of Black people, I never really know if anybody else has seen it. It was also some Enter the Dragon references in here too with Kung Fu Island. Michael Jai White also has a Western spoof he did after this as well, and there was a cartoon series for Black Dynamite that lasted for a couple seasons.
Black Dynamite NEEDS to be in MK1 as a DLC character, his fatalities punctuated by "DY-NO-MITE! DY-NO-MITE!", his intros voiced by Bullhorn with his little rhymes
I hope that you guys dont EVER feel uncomfortable to laugh and truly enjoy yourselves while watching "Black films". I promise you, thats what those movies are made for. For EVERYBODY to watch them and enjoy them. I know by todays standards ppl can be really PC/sensitive about every goddamn thing 🙄😒 but your Black Cinepals recommend these movies because we truly want yall to experience the same joy that we do when we watch them. With that being said, I vote for SOUL FOOD, NEW JACK CITY, and/or BOOTY CALL to be added to the list! Luv yall❤😂😂😂
A lot of blackploitation films HAD TO DO a Bruce Lee move in their movies and they do several in him. The stepping and side footing crunch and the kicking the light fixture are the two most iconic ones haha
This is such an all time classic about "Blaxploitation" at its finest! The way it just hits different with the bad cuts and references. Lines are quotable by default and favourite character is Bullhorn! Hope you liked the movie!
31:24 Bullhorn is an homage to comedian Rudy Ray Moore's Blaxploitation character and movie 'Dolemite'. Which y'all MUST watch and the sequel 'The Human Tornado' and his other movie 'Petey Wheatstraw: The Devil's Son In Law'. You'll see a lot of references 'Black Dynamite' took from those movies. 😂
Y'all are doing 'Black Dynamite', fuck yes!!! But y'all would enjoy this movie much more if you saw some Blaxploitation classics that this movie references so you'd understand most of the jokes. 😂
If you can get this movie on blu Ray, watch it with the commentary. They go into great detail with all of the references, inspiration and history of the blaxploitation genre. It's probably the only commentary track that I truly enjoyed listening to.
Glad these two caught parts like the boom hanging in frame, but they missed some other parts like --the 7:39 fact that BP's story about Vietnam was constantly referring to China men. Hey, 57:37 she caught it!! 😅 --13:39 not just a new stunt double, but in the return to scene, he then had a black eye (as a part of the "consequence" of his accidental hit to the 1st stuntman) -- reading the acting direction as if it is a part of the actual script to be cited... 16:18 _{sarcastically}_ I'm in charge 39:30 _{shows the picture}_
I love how Black Dynamite didn't even have to look to know it was Euphorias trifling ass notice how real it got both the other girls were like goddamn glad it ain't me this movie really nailed everything they were going for and everyone was so in sync
Check out "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka"! It is Keenan Ivory Wayans first (and best IMO) film. It is a parody of Black Exploitation movies, and Black Dynamite was clearly inspired by it, at least partially.
This isn't anywhere near my favorite comedy, but it is hands down the funniest movie I've ever seen. I've seen it many times now and I still laugh the whole way through. Every single joke in this movie is a banger. It doesn't give you a chance to recover. Why Michael Jai White hasn't done more comedies I'll never know. He's in this with a bunch of professional comics and he's easily the funniest person in the movie. My abs got such a workout from laughing that I looked down at the end and realized I had a six pack.
You have to listen carefully to get all the jokes in the dialogue. Aunt Millie- said that black dynamite’s mama “would turn over in her grave if she were here to see this!” (you can’t be in both places at once I’m pretty sure) 😂
I'm gonna take a wild guess that secretly Achara wished she was watching this with Vivian or Kristen for a few reasons 😂 Also, Michael's definitely a cool reactor but sometimes he talks over the funniest parts they miss-react, man, don't ramble lol P.S. - y'all missed the running joke during Black Dynamite's Vietnam flashback when he kept calling them "Chinese". Oh, and censoring "n*gga" when the white guy said it but never when the black characters said it is wild work 😏...but I digress. Glad y'all enjoyed a great parody/classic!
I feel like someone from this channel crew said, "damn, I just realised we don't have any "black" movies on our channel, are we a little racist ? 😂😂 If I'm correct in anyway, first I say thank you to whoever said something like that. 2nd, thank you to you all for listening. It is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the group of people who love Black Dynamite. You will randomly quote the movie and want to show everybody you know the movie.
You damn right Jive Turkey! 😂
Yep watch this when it first came out
"I AIN'T NO SNITCHH!"
Lmaoooo mandatory one liners
“Who the hell is interrupting my kung fu” is my all time favorite
"I THREW THAT SHIT 'FORE I WALKED IN THE ROOM!!!!!"
😂I've been quoting this movie for years😂😂
My favorite line 😂
Same😂
I swear ..... I told my boss that on an issue I had when i got EEOC involved 😅😅😅
"Bitch, nah." has been the wife and I's go-to "no" response for 15 years now.
😂😂😂😂😂 that line is hilarious
“Sarcastically I’m in charge” is my favorite quote to say at work 😂
"Your knowledge for scientific biological transmorgrification is only outmatched by your zest for Kung fu treachery" ...... Jeeez.😂😂😂😂
put that on a t-shirt (LoL)
😂🤣😅🤣RIGHT😂👍🏾💯💯💯
I need that as a mug
The "slap" in the pool hall is one of the best stunt scenes of all time!
Probably my favourite sight gag of all time.
Yeah it is
he slapped the "black" off of him...that was the meaning behind that

Tommy Davidson running in those platforms remind me of "im gne get u sucka" when dude was tryna run with goldfish in his heels 😂😂
They gotta watch that one next 😂
Yes, one of the funniest scenes in the movie
😂😂yesss
OMG and they broke 😅 even as a kid it was funny but I felt so bad for him. Cuz you KNOW he thought he looked cute
Black Dynamite, Black Jesus, Boondocks. The trifecta of Black parody😂😂😂😂
OMG, if we can get a Boondocks reaction from these guys! Aaron McGruder cannot get too many flowers for that work, series and comic 🤎
Scary Movie and Don't Be a Menace
You can remove "Black Jesus" and replace it with the seminal, immortal "Hollywood Shuffle." Everything that comes after has been fathered by its style.
@Nelson_Swamp I've never heard of that. Will definitely give that a watch. Thanks for the recommendation

Also Captain Kangaroo
This is the most underrated joke in the film. I'm pretty sure it's actually him. Haha@@zachgaskins3731
They should definitely watch I'm Gonna Get You Sucka!
undercover brother is a classsiiiccccc, so underrated
Me and my brother watched I'm Gonna Get You Sucka when i was a teenager and we absolutely loved it
This and Undercover Brother
"COME ON YOU JIVE TURKEYS WHAT KIND OF RUN DOWN IS THIS"??? 😂
O'Leary: "We dont need you making a river of blood."
BD: "Just tell me who did it, and ill only leave a little puddle."
“Bitch, do you SEE US?!?”” 😂😂 Cream Corn stole the show.
Michael Jai White should’ve had this character in different eras for more movies
Technically I guess that's why Outlaw Johnny Black is a sort of sequel/prequel to this.
@@IAmHavok Yeah, unfortunately his co writer didn't join which is why the movie lacks what Black Dynamite brings.
There's a cartoon series with all the actors that's pretty hilarious.
My favorite part is the boom mic, especially when Michael Jai White keeps looking at it lol LOVE this movie.
It kills me when reactors miss that bit, I'm glad both of them were absolutely tuned in for it haha
Yeah. It's from the 1974 movie Dolomite. Where you can see the boom mic multiple times.
Black Dynamite alone makes me wonder why Michael Jai White hasn't been a John Wick movie. He'd be phenomenal!!
I just love, during the scene with the militants, the militant is not just reading his lines, but also the blocking cues in the script.

All the same actors came back to do the Black Dynamite animated show. It's GENIUS. I think it's two seasons, available on MAX.
I've never seen this movie. 9 minutes in to this reaction and I'm turning it off because I want to see this entire movie in all its glory. Amazing.
Did you see it yet?

How many Chinese children soldiers were in Vietnam?

Black Friday on thanksgiving....they really should be watching Malcolm X 😂
Plymouth Rock landed on us
The guy @ 16:21 that said “Sarcastically I’m in charge” if you noticed he’s also saying the reaction before the line
My goodness the funniest shit ever... " militant turns startled" 😂😂
Black Dynamite's recounting of his Vietnam experience was so ridiculously offensive and racist, I couldn't help but laugh out loud.😅
42:36 Beating down Wu with his own severed hand.😂 Now that is a "BOSS" move. 😂
Btw....i just found out that MJW did a semi-sequel to this movie called OUTLAW JOHNNY BLACK released 2023 set in the Wild West.
Achara figuring out the Anaconda Malt Liquor plot twist before it's revealed! 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿😂😂😂😅🤣
That fiendish Dr. Wu and his KUNG-FU TREACHERY!!!

I was literally thinking last night that there should have been a Black Dynamite 2 and then "Boom" yall drop the reaction to this classic!!
There's an animated show. Not exactly a movie but the cast returns to voice act.
and the movie with some of the same actors in Outlaw Johnny Black, came out last summer
For those who are unaware, Chicago Wind is played by Mykelti Williamson who was Bubba from Forest Gump.
12:40 Black Dynamite kicks the light.

Naw, they would take this too seriously

Yes cartoon was the best. The episode with his daddy leaving him and his mom. I say that line once a month. "The light turned green, BYE BITCH" 😂😂😂
