  • Welcome to our first-time watching as we react to Lethal Weapon 2 (1989).
Lethal Weapon 2 is a 1989 American buddy cop action comedy film directed by Richard Donner, and starring Mel Gibson, Danny Glover, Joe Pesci, Joss Ackland, Derrick O'Connor and Patsy Kensit. It is a sequel to the 1987 film Lethal Weapon and the second installment in the Lethal Weapon film series.
Gibson and Glover respectively reprise their roles as LAPD officers Martin Riggs and Roger Murtaugh, who protect an irritating federal witness (Pesci), while taking on a gang of South African dealers hiding behind diplomatic immunity.
We hope that you enjoy our reactions, commentary and review as we discuss the great action sequences, how this film adds another layer by giving us a bit of a darker tone and why Riggs and Murtaugh are the perfect duo.

      @@Michael-dy2lb SPOILER for 3 and 4
how about character development. Every movie builds up the characters. The realtionship between Riggs and Murtaugh is getting even closer in the third movie. And Lorna for example, Riggs falling in love with her and them being in a relationship. The fourth movie begins with them being together and Lorna is pregnant. What's the point if you don't even know who she is.
And even if it's the worst one...it's such a strong franchise. They are all worth watching. Even if the plot isn't the best - the characters of Riggs and Murtaugh are always the strongest parts of the franchise.

One is that I genuinely believe that you haven't seen the movies you say you haven't seen and you're honest if one of you have seen it. I think that's the most important thing to me I don't want to watch a reaction video from somebody who is super familiar with what they're reacting to. One of my most beloved movie franchises. Bought this on DVD back when DVD first came out and two things interesting. Richard Donner has the stilt house built specifically for that scene. And originally, Rika was supposed to live, but they wanted Riggs to be the guy who is just on the edge. Plus, they needed the way clear for Renee Russo in the next two movies. 😁

Mark Rolston (Hans) was also in Aliens as Drake, along with Jeanette Goldstein who gets blown up on the diving board. Grand L Bush also plays one of the cops (he was also in 1st movie) and he was Agent Johnson in Die Hard. Patsy Kensit was best known as the lead singer of Eigth Wonder. The surfboard death is reminiscent of an infamous scene in The Omen, also drected by Richard Donner. Lethal Weapon 2 is my favourite, followed by 1, 3 and 4.

Y'all said it, these movies feel so grounded because of the relationship between Riggs and Murtah. These films work, the plot motivations make sense because we buy their friendship/brotherhood from their on-screen chemistry/charisma.
