Lyrics:
Children go where I send thee
How shall I send thee?
I'm gonna send thee six by six
Six by the six that couldn't get fixed
Five by the five couldn't get by
Four by the four that stood at the door
Three by the Hebrew children
Two by Paul and Silas
One by the little bitty baby
Who was born, born, born in Bethlehem

When you had planned going to bed but sat down started listed to Johnny Cash you know it May be a LONG night.., 😊🎸🎶
That's me right now! I have to get up in 8 hrs to go to work!
Beautiful ❤❤❤
Me right now
MrOystein1977 it’s happened multiple times.I don’t regret it at the least
Yep, 4am and I'm still listen... Can't seem to get enough Johnny Cash tonight!
This ain't just a song, it's a musical experience, with an all star cast, one of the best performances I heard in my life
🙏 amen to that ❤
Who needs a Broadway experience when there is !! Impressive!
Saw this for the first time, greatness never dies.
That is just sooooo good!!
My first time seeing/hearing this, too it's awesome.
They don’t have great music like this anymore.
Johnny was at the height of his ability. His voice was so strong!!!
True
May be clean and on tour across europe with the whole gang and family.
Agree.
I've been a Cash fan for a long time but this is the first time I've seen this. What a stunning performance by Johnny, the Carter Family, the Statler Brothers, Carl Perkins and the Tennessee Three. I listened to it over and over. I love the way Johnny dances when Carl is singing his part, love Carl's guitar playing. The Carters sing like angels. Just recently discovered how fabulous the Statlers are too.
You got it 👍
Who sings the part where she sings 9x9?
@@jj23256Anita Carter, she was June’s older sister.
@@rolandelek1358 what a voice!! Thank you!
I agree word by word with your words!
I'm a born again Christian since 2017. Can't nobody sing Jesus like Cash!
That is Gospel and Country and Blue grass and Rock n Roll Heritage
I really love how Johnny introduced individual soloists during this tune (performers appreciate this so much).
It’s so good to see Mother Maybell singing with her daughters too, as the Statler Bros, and Carl Perkins and Johnny’s band.
Thank you. I also appreciate it so much when individual performers are identified.
Thought that was Carl Perkins!
@@kenlockridge566 Yes, Carl’s there, too.
@@flautalee3090 Carl Perkins is # 6.
This was when country was pure and true to its gospel roots
My God Johnny is preachin' thru his music, I love that!!!

Anita has a beautiful voice
Anita's voice is just like bells of heaven, so exciting, crystal and clean.
Líbí se mi více hlas June, takový zastřený
Anita was the most talented of the Carter sisters and everyone in the Nashville area would’ve agreed. But touring is rough for even the most talented of people and she wanted to settle down. The world…and fans of the Carter Family…really missed out on a lotta’ talent when she decided to retire.
Everyone was at there best ...WOW...Carl Perkins was an unsung Hero !
I've been a Johnny Cash fan for many years, but I'd never heard this song until tonight. It had me on my feet, clapping my hands and snapping my fingers. Just awesome! They don't make stuff like this anymore, that's for sure! I was feeling really down and depressed all day, and watching and hearing this song really picked up my spirits and made me feel happy. Johnny Cash, always the man!
Scotty Johnson Check out the Gaithers, Mark Lowry, Ricky Scaggs, Bob Coletrain, and certain Larry Norman.
The very first rendition of this song I've heard was by The folk quartet The Weavers growing up.
ua-cam.com/video/m9HDKn5WKI0/v-deo.html
Yes it hit the spiritual nerve and had me high for 3 days, after 50 replays..truly God has His hand in this !!!
Ole Johnny was about to get wound up and happy!
How cool is that, I love hearing songs I've never heard from artists I love. Hope you're doing well, friend
A lot of talent on that stage.
Johnny Cash was the only artist that could sing a song like Folsom Prison Blues and then sing a gospel song and have you worshipping the Lord. God Bless you Johnny.
I like what you said, so true
Johnny Cash had charisma for days. Seems like his voice was in peak performance during this.
The Johnny Cash Show with Carl Perkins, The Statler Brothers, Mother Maybelle, June Carter & the Carter Family, all backed up The Tennessee Three. This was a staple of Johnny's live shows in the 70s, which had been on tour in this configuration since the mid 60s, a gospel number everybody joined in for, "Children Go How I Send Thee", performed here live on Danish television.
Cash was at the pinnacle of his career in these years, drug free and starring in his own ABC television show from 1969 to 1971. This is the track that can be heard on "Man in Black: Live in Denmark 1971".

Get lost for heaven sake !
I appreciate the detail that you put into your comment, truly. This is how we can learn more about something we’re interested in ~~ and you obviously have the knowledge.

The spirit of christ moving him! Praise God!
This performance was Heaven sent. So many in this video have gone on...but the music lives ...... Johnny & company were taking us to church....and the ride was wonderful
The amazing Mother Maybelle, with daughters Helen, June and Anita.
He had such a pure heart. God Bless his soul. I hope to meet him someday along with our Lord Jesus Christ!🙏❤️🕊✝️
I think this might be the single best version I have ever heard of this song.
I agree!

This is priceless gospel. Brilliant!
June's voice 😩👌🏽 and Anita's! This song gets me going! Woooo! 👏🏼😇
Anita is beyond beautiful, I can't describe it.

What do you admire most about Johnny
Did anyone feel the anointing of this song. Man what energy
When my time comes for me to go to heaven, I'd love to dance into the pearly gates with this song playing. 😊🙌

Did Anita and Carel Perkins ever sang together.
I just love the way Cash put the microphone into Carl Perkins :D
Been a Cash fan forever. Don't know how i ever missed this but i am SO glad i found it today. VERY inspiring.
God bless EVERYONE
on this Thanksgiving day
This is as good as it gets... what a song and performance, so many legends in one place. Sadly the only ones still living are two of the Statler Brothers, Phil Balsey and Don Reid.
I absolutely ADORE THIS SONG!
This song truly showcases his amazing voice, he really had a powerful voice
Thank you for being a part of my life also June and family
Wow what a great song, with a all star cast, the great statlers, the gorgeous, and great carter family, the tremendous, carl perkins, and great johnny cash, r.i.p. carl, johnny, the carters , and harold reid, i cant stop listening to this.
Just listen to those guitars-the great Carl Perkins and Bob Wooten. You couldn't beat them with a stick.
Everyone including the band put their heart into this song. What a great get together of legends
One of Johnny's best gospel songs and in my top 3 of all his songs of all time. Great to see the Carter family , Carl and the Statlers. Years ago l used to visit Nashville with some friends who were country fans to nth degree. We visited a number of their favourite sites including the Cash house next to Roy orbisons house and we saw John cutting his own lawn. Guess what he came to the fence and talked to us and then went into his house grabbed a couple of beers and brought them out to us. Do you expect that from rock stars not in a million years but that's country music and till my dying day Johnny has a spot in my heart.
What power, what energy!
I love these people. Just beautiful singing.
Johnny Cash.. he sing gospel and still the coolest guy outhere 👌🤠
Alle für sich waen wunderbare musiker. Ich liebe sie alle.❤❤❤😅😅😅😊
There are two types of people. Those who love Johnny Cash, and those who will. Love seeing him getting so into it.
God bless us all. I hope to meet all of you in heaven. God and I love you all.
When I heard Kenny Rogers' version with Home Free, I thought that's the best this song can get. But then I heard this. Johnny being so happy and his voice being so great here. I love this so much!
Oh this song is great Johnny Cash and friends and family. I could listen to Carl Perkins all day also.
My favorite johnny cash gospel song
I have this on a DVD & every time it gets to this song ... I just keep backing it up , start it over again & again & again no less than 6 times back to back ! Never could get too much of it !!!
Me too.
me also
Amazing how all these beautiful icons perfectly perform a beautiful song.
Only 13 and I love Johnny Cash and I tell you this song right here has me clapping, snapping my fingers and stomping my feet. Man Johnny Cash is awesome hes my favorite. RIP Ole Johnny.
Think I commented almost 10 years ago, and still feel the same. This is one of most professional performances I've ever heard and seen.
Abermals von dieser chaosmusiktruppe volle zufriedenheit erlebt und total erfreut. Immer wieder toll zu erleben 08/2023 danke lg❤❤😂😊
His voice and the choral voices are like a Balm of Gilead! Just sheer awesomeness in this chaotic world.
Denmark love you Mr. Cash !
Sends shivers up the back. Johnny felt such loyalty to all members of his show. Like family and it shows. Beautiful.
This song takes you to a better place.
Grandson's entire grade school sang this on Wed eve. It was wonderful!
Thank you Johnny!
I would PAY to SEE the TAPE of the KIDS singing this 🎵!!!!
I remember we used to sing this back in music class in elementary school! i believe it's an old spiritual from like the early 1900's or earlier, I can't remember precisely. Our music teacher used to really sing this, boy could she ever! Love this so much 🥰
Lets all remember who these great performers are singing about!!! Johnny knew what was up!!!
The math, adds up. Strength! GODsp33d!
I had never seen this until this morning, and I've been boogin' all day. So good!
Wow what a great surprise to see Johnny Cash with the Carter Family and the Statler Brothers singing together with the Christmas songs to me I really love this song so much and I am very bless full to hear this song *CHILDREN GO WHERE I SENT THEE* 😀❤🌟🌟
Anita Carter WOW!!
Ditto ScottyJohnson’s sentiments
This is the 1st I’ve heard or seen this.
I, too, was in a dark place today, & this certainly had me tapping my feet & smiling.
The song itself, & the amazing talent, had me putting my petty worries on the back burner & thanking God for such a gift.
They are sincere. Love all their music.
This one is one of my favorites. I don't see Mr. Cash this excited while singing live very often. Can't say that I've watched a bunch of live video with him singing but if ya put the audio among it all this is one he enjoyed immensely!
❤❤❤✝️❤❤❤
And this was the dress rehearsal. I’m so glad it was filmed - of course they did- to review for for the TV show.
❤
Wow! Rarely in a performance can you see, Hear and feel the performers love for Jesus. This performance is overwhelmed with it. Just look at Johnny. I'm not sure his feet even touched the ground. Love it
I had a big smile on my face while watching this. I was around when Johnny Cash was big but we thought he was uncool. I love June Carter, too.
Wow!!!
Oh my God, everyone's on fire here! I can't stop listening to this, Johnny Cash's singing with the abrasive arrangement are just too contagious! The call and response dynamic is on point too, this should be the spirit of Christmas, a time for re-energize!
Never be anyone take these folks place, they are real gems
I've been a big Johnny Cash fan for 55 years and I love this song and it's obvious that Johnny did also. Every time I watch it, I have to laugh as Johnny is dancing and putting the mic to Carl Perkin's mouth, and Carl has to watch that Johnny doesn't accidentally slam the mic into his mouth. Carl was great also and I'm looking forward to meeting them all in heaven.
John sure had a powerful voice! His high Eb at the end was louder than the entire band...wow
my 5 and 4 year old love this song! they request it now every time i'm on YT. I had never heard of it but we all love to sing it out loud. thanks for posting.
Good Morning Cash family
Man I love June Carters voice
Enus Brown indeed, hers is unique
Johnny was a favorite of mine, all of my life.
I remember the first time I heard him.
He sang I WalkThe LINE
I was about 8or 9 years old.
I'm almost 81 years old now.
This is amazing! I just accidentally found buried treasure! Love lew dewitt’ this is a gift from God! Love this! I’m only 54 but love this music!!!
Johnny Cash in his element!
Mein freudenlevel ganz oben
Cool, the man in black, gospel singing, just don't get any better than this.
His voice in this song❤️❤️👏👏👏 shocked 😮😮..I love him anyway but by God he really SANG this song💚💚💚🇨🇮🇨🇮.. love from the emerald Isle..
Its probably the best showcase of his voice at its peak
This performance shows just how much range JR had; he just chose to sing in a more baritone/bass range most of the time. What a powerful voice, too.
With Johnny cashes voice during this piece he could’ve been a preacher and he would raise the roof
Thanks for posting this. I don't think I have heard a better exhibition of the power of Johnny Cash's voice. What a wonderful performance.

Fun fact:
This is the actual recording, which Johnny though was the rehearsal.
Back then in Denmark we had a competent producer, who believed in making things authentic.
@@AyathTheLoafer I was pretty certain this was the song of his that I remembered reading where someone said that he thought this was the rehearsal, and it’s been months since I’d read it. I wanted to listen and after decided to check the comments, glad I did! Also, thank you for sharing that, very cool! I hope you’re well, and God bless! :)
Wow...This was really good. Johnny and company were fantastic. His voice was powerful and very distinctive.
Fantastic!
A wonderful harmonized song, heard this for the first time 2024, as a born again Christian since 2012 It touched my country/gospel soul. Full of Christian energy, this is the best rendition I have found
I just heard it for the first time too. Great song
FAAANTASTIC from Aotearoa New Zealand.. August 2022.. WooooHoooo Thankyou HALLELUJAH👏👏👏
I've been listening to Johnny for well over 10 years and I still am still discovering new music by him.
My favorite song in the Denmark concert
Mother Maybelle and her girls June, Anita and Helen. June's 8 by 8 and then Anita's 9 by 9 sensational paving the way for Carlene Carter. The rockabilly bounce of Carl perkins with the statler brothers and the tennessee three topped off by Johnny. The way this goes up through the keys cooks. Gospel, bluegrass, Country and rockabilly if only Jerry Lee Lewis and Roy Orbison were in this
C était chouette cette époque !comme j aure aime le voir en concert, sur scène quoi.
Religion aside, I'm a sucker for great gospel music like this...absolutely fantastic...I'm carried to some other place with June's growl, the Statler Bros & Carl Perkin's inspired vocals, and Johnny's amazing directing & stage presence...I can listen to this all day...let's keep the positive train moving 👍🔥🔥🔥🔥☮
On the field family of ten perfect thank you Lord!
Toller Countrymann. Man merkt ihm richtig die Freude an
