Well, Im guessing because Elvis died that year in August. This was a Christmas special....so they were payig tribute to him.
Other than obvious Johnny and June, the Carters, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Roy Orbison I recognize Johnny's drummer WS Holland in the back middle, of course the Statler Bros. (the really high falsetto is actually the late Lew DeWitt), Roy Clark, and then there are others I don't recognize. Can anyone help fill in the blanks?
