    I'm a pretty new HARDCORE Tonex fan. I don't use any of my vintage tube amps anymore--I just made captures of them on Tonex. I just bought a second one so I can run different amps in stereo. Great video.

    As a sound engineer and guitar player this makes the perfect lifesaver for my gigs. I can fit one or two in my peli, backpack or guitar case and be sure that if anything happens to the guitar players I work with I have a killer sounding backup for them or me. I just LOVE it.

      Or plug headphones into this, as it's stereo out, and power it from a USB power bank. Find a way to clip it to your belt and you've got yourself one hell of a lot more versatile bit of a kit than the Katana Go.

    Your original vid about tone x was the reason I bought one. Its been so good for me and what I use it for. I have an Od > Tonex > Timeline out in stereo and that takes care of my needs to headphone jam. I put it through a PA speaker at my friends house for jams and it works great there too. The cab you use for headphones vs live situation is really important. Great video m8. Sweet hair too :)

      Hi are you using two tonex one to do stereo? I’m really stuck in understanding this. My hope is to have the toned one after my volume pedal and then be able to use my wet effects in stereo. My use would want to be able to use headphones still and then direct at FOH. But also be able to use my tube amp whenever.

    TONEX ONE is nice! Guitar processors can make a big difference in sound depending on the CAB IR you use.
    actually there are many IR products on the market, but I think DYNAX IR has the best sound. As stated in their product description, DYNAX IR is really fast. When using IRs, the pick attack is sometimes delayed, and it is difficult to add picking nuances, but their IR prevents all of that. It's revolutionary!

And now I got to redo my pedal board again! I know that's part of the fun of the hobby, but the modeling is improving so rapidly right now that it is much more frequently that something comes along that really changes your approach.
    Good video! Your pedal board is pretty close to how I have been heading. Now I'm convinced.

    The UAFX was my first enjoyable entry into the world of amp sims. Ive always been curious about profiling vs emulation. Now that i can try it for something as cheap as 179 i think i will probably give the Tonex One a try. Love its form factor and functionality.

    Interestingly, all of the direct comparisons I have seen of how ToneX compares to Kemper and Quad Cortex show that ToneX tech lags behind in capturing your own amp through the exact same signal path. With that said, if you can find a ToneX One model that works for you, it's unbeatable at this price.

    • @JonWrightMusicTV
      @JonWrightMusicTV  5 місяців тому

      Do you think so? I saw the Studio Rats do a comparison between the two recently, but they didn't include the original amp so it wasn't clear which of the two profilers - which sounded quite different - was more accurate. The null tests I've seen saw the Tonex coming out really well. To be honest though, both are going to have great sounding amps so as you say, just find one you like and you're good to go.

    Thoughts on using the included compressor when putting other pedals, e.g., OD and boosts, in front of the ToneX One? It’s probably only meant for plugging straight in, yeah?

    • @JonWrightMusicTV
      @JonWrightMusicTV  5 місяців тому +1

      I think the answer as usual is ‘it depends’. Overdrive into compression can sound nice but as I think you’re alluding to, it’s not the same as compression into overdrive, and the differences are arguably even more significant when dealing with clean boost. I think if I were looking to go between a compressed clean, and a dirty pedal into clean amp, I’d use an external compressor. I think the included compressor is good, but as you say it won’t always be in the ideal place in the signal path.
