I have revived totally solidified Inca gold and Nuvo mouse with Glycerine and Water, as well as some spray of alcohol so that I don't get moulds. Using a metal palette knife and a lot of arm power...but it so worth all the work. Now I go over them now and then so that they do not dry out to a solid lump again!
What! What! I saw Cindy-Lyn's and I don't remember seeing this many tips and the bonus with the foil!!!! Dang, girl, Kiss your brain!!! Love all of this!!!
I have around 40 mica powders and wanted to use them for gilding wax and thought this would be useful too. I subbed when I watched your gilding wax one. Thank you again because all these things cost a bomb!
Yes!!! That’s what I did and it works well! You can add color to it too! I recommend keeping those jars with tape around the jar lid to keep the product moist. I don’t have room for 500 jars of stencil butter so I bought the one jar and throw in dye ink and mica powders to come up with my own colored gel. I hope this helps. 🥰
I'm finding it so very interesting that your sample swatches do NOT seem to be warped !! I recently bought CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS METALLIC GILDING POLISH in the PEARL, and was VERY disheartened to see how very warped the paper got after having applied just a thin coat!! I grant that the paper was only 85# or 90#, however ... Is it possible that YOUR D.I.Y. versions are less likely to warp the card stock??
I’m not entirely sure. Every time I use mixed media-gels, etc., I always use the thickest card stock to minimize the warping. I’ve found that you’ll always experience some type of warping but less when I use 110 pound. I usually sacrifice one sheet of the heavyweight card stock when I use mixed media on my projects. Also, I did use a small square for the sample-that in and of itself will lend itself to less warping. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@KathyaKalinine That DOES give me food for thought. MANY THANKS for your response! Btw, your pleasant voice and easy manner make watching your videos a pure J O Y !!! Thx again!
I dont know if you will get this message or not. I just found your video. You mentioned adding water to reconsitute dried up gel medium. I discovered a jar of dried gel mediium and was heartbroken. I hate to waste money. I got to playing with it and discovered that I could crumble it and dry it out. When it was completely dry i ground it a bit more and sorted out any large clumps. Then i lput it with some heavy gel medium and color. It makes a great grit paste,
That’s wonderful! What a cool discovery! I’ve since started to try and keep my gel jars in ziplock bags. I think keeping all the air out will help keep them from drying out. Hope this helps! ♥️
Oh no!!! Same here. I bought a few and then stopped buying because I simply don’t have the space to keep everything. I hope it helps stretch some of your supplies! ♥️

Amazing video Kathya, thanks for creating!
Great tips!
So glad you enjoyed it! ♥️
So I can use this heavy gel technique for stenciling right ? Instead of purchasing ridiculously expensive stencil butter from Ranger or TCW ?

@@KathyaKalinine Kathya, your video was a bit distorted (a little muffled / gravelly, but not inaudible). I R E A L L Y enjoyed this tute!!! Be well!

I’m so sorry. I will have new recording equipment soon. Apologies for the poor audio.
You’re very blunt and lack emotional intelligence. You could have found a less aggressive way to say that!
