I really like the idea of the small jar of the paste you used. Doesn't break the bank and yet gives you plenty to work with. Is it hard to use it all before what is in the jar gets hard? Do you see any point in coloring the paste? Ie: mica powder, paint, food coloring, etc. How about adding sand or coffee to create a grit paste? Thank you for showing adding mica to paint just doesn't work. I Love, Love, Love your shimmer glue/paint. It is beautiful. So glad you are back. I know that some of the hardest days are still ahead. You are deeply loved and many are actively praying for you. Besides your family, you have a very large group of you tube friends who love you and hold you up to the Lord in prayer. You spark Joy in our lives.😊
Thank you for your sweet comment :) You can color the paste first, I never really thought of that, and sand might be cool too :) Thank you for sharing your ideas with us all :) I am so grateful for all of my lovely YT friends that hold me up in prayer, there are days I really need it :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
You are a living, breathing crafting encyclopedia, Amy. Why did it never occur to me to use spackle for texture paste? Brilliant! And, eye shadow added to glue is much easier than using it with embossing ink. Have you ever considered writing a book? Not only would I buy it for myself, but I'd give it as a gift. Imagine having Amy's body of crafting DIY all in one... tome. Please do it! ~ Lisa
A long time ago, when people still read books, I thought about it:) Even though I love crafting, the thought of writing a book was not a pleasing thought, lol :) Math and science were my favorite studies in school, english was not, lol :) Thank you for your sweet comment :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
I tried the eyeshadow with paint as well and it wasn’t that great. I’ll try the glue! I thought it was funny when you showed the patch compound that is what I use. I attempted making some texture paste from a couple of different recipes I found on YT and they just didn’t do it for me. So I thought what the heck why not try something I already have and I love it!!! Gentle bear hugs xx
Hi Amy, I appreciate how you share your less than perfect results with us. It shows me that it’s just part of the crafting experience! I just love you and your videos so much. Thanks for sharing!
Amy I'm just loving using index cards for everything because there's a perfect size for a little journaling cards and you can make Pockets out of them they're wonderful
Welcome back hope you and your family are doing well. Tyfs. Now I have a good use my.old eyeshadow. Can you use modpodge or tacky glue? Did you use a sealant?
Thank you for the sweet comment :) You can use modpodge, but I think tacky glue is a bit to thick :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
Hello Amy, I'm so glad to see you back to brighten my Tuesdays up. Over here I think they just call it filler rather than spackle. I'll get on with making a list of all I need you to make. Welcome back my friend Love & hugs x Ann x
Hi Amy! I'm enjoying your new series. Thanks for doing it. I've had similar problems with Dollar Tree self-adhesive stencils myself. I noticed yours are cut out all the way through the waxy backing paper. To avoid the blue stencil sticking to my paper enough to tear it, I'd just use the stencil and the backing paper together as my stencil - if that makes sense. You can always tape it down to your work surface with less sticky tape, if need be.
Thank you for sharing your tip with us all, that is a good idea :) Thank you for your sweet comment :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
I love these! Whenever I go to Dollar Tree I check for these and buy extra of the snow white and gold ones--they are the most versatile, though I love them all. I hadn't thought of using the spackle for texture paste, but I like the price so much better. Love how your feathers turned out, thanks for sharing; take care!
Hi Amy, I love that you always use things we have in the house. I especially loved the ghost prints. Good work. You are in my prayers, I hope things are going well and you are feeling better, it has been a heck of a year and a half. Sorry I haven't been in touch but have been without a means to post. God bless you.💌
Amy, thank you so much for this wonderful new series of videos. The pastes you made are so pretty, affordable and l love that we can adjust the depth of the colour. The hardware prices for products that we can utilise in crafting like wall mud are much more attractive than paying a premium price for brand products from craft stores. We have lockdown in my region so l will be playing in my craft room quite a bit.
Thank you for your sweet comment :) What region are you in ? I hope things get better there real soon :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
I'm just so glad to hear your voice again. 💞 I know you've had a really rough time the past 6 months. When I lose someone, three months later it's more real. So, just know that I'm thinking of you. And BTW, I was watching a DIY channel of a young lady who makes a lot of storage etc. She stated she can use a drill but doesn't know how to change the bits. Maybe that's a good video for you to make. We know these little things because we've been around for eons but the new kids don't know. You know a lot about construction items. I'm sure there are plenty who don't know what grades of sandpaper there is and what the numbers mean. Anywho, just a thought. 😁
Love that shimmer paste idea. And that’s exactly what I use for my texture paste too! I made my own from baby powder once and it did exactly what you said and cracked and I didn’t like it.
Can you put the spackle and Mika together just a little bit of it to work it or no thank you so much for sharing God bless and please have a amazing day
The mica gets lost in the spackle because it is opaque, but you can put it in sprays and water color paints :) Thank you for your sweet comment :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
Hi Angela, I’ve tried this, and no, mica is not water reactive. Try KOOL Aid or ground up Easter Egg dye tablets for an inexpensive alternative. Happy crafting!

Have you ever tried coloring the spackle?
I have colored spackle with acrylic craft paint and it works :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
could you add some paint, food coloring, etc to the spackle to give it a color before putting it into stencil?
It may not dry well, but you can always try it and see how it works :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy

Can you use the makeup powder like nuvo shimmer powders were it explodes on your page when you add water?
Hi Angela, I’ve tried this, and no, mica is not water reactive. Try KOOL Aid or ground up Easter Egg dye tablets for an inexpensive alternative. Happy crafting!
Carole is right, my favorite thing to use is the easter egg tablets crushed up :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
