- Original Moody Blue and McCartney's Wings musician Denny Laine surprised Moody Blues tribute band, Time Travellers, by coming on stage and playing "Go Now" with them. taken Aug, 5, 2017, Arcada Theatre/Speakeasy, St. Charles, IL
There would be no Wings or Moody Blues without Denny Laine. What a legend.
After the dissolution of the Beatles, Paul was struggling to make a brilliant return and was a huge success at WINGS. Without his brilliant support, Paul's success in the 1970s could not have been. Special thanks to Denny Laine.
Good point. I think Paul still would have had a pivotal solo career with or without Denny. Thats just my opinion

This guy is at least 70 years old here.And he still has a beautiful tenor voice. Stunning to hear him in 2017. He was great in '64 and still is.. Thanks for sharing this with is 'oldtimers'.

God, that was well done. I can barely imagine the pressure on the Time Travellers.
If the information is correct, Denny will be on hand when the Moody Blues are inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame later this year. It's a shame Ray Thomas won't be there in person, but will be in spirit.
Denny will be inducted with the MBs. It's heartbreaking that Ray passed away. We knew he probably wouldn't attend event, but wish he would've been here to see the showering of love he and band will receive during ceremony.
The main solace I take in that Dee, is that Ray knew they made the R&R HoF Class of 2018 before he died. When I learned he passed away, tears ran down my cheeks. As I am a lifetime fan, he was like a brother to me. All the Moodies are.

@@dennylaine8735 When I first heard "Go Now!" on the radio in Austin, back in the 60's, I was amazed. It was one of those songs that you could just listen to over and over and never get tired of. Later in life, living in Houston, I learned to play bagpipes, and shortly thereafter, "Mull of Kintyre" came out! That was a favorite of everyone in the Houston Highlanders Pipe Band! To later hear that you had moved to Austin, of all places, was a big surprise. Thanks for all the great memories, Denny!

Wow!!! 52 years later; from 1965 to 2017! This gives me goose chills! I have followed The Moody Blues since Day 1 and they have ALWAYS been my FAVORITE BAND! Even The Beatles could not replace them for me.

RIP Denny.
Really wish now that he'd stayed and had been a part of the Moody Blues all along. Feel as though we've been deprived of something extra that the group might have had within it. Good job at the R & R Hall of Fame in April 2018. Was glad to see him and Mike Pinder there with the group. Ray Thomas had only recently passed away.
But if he stayed with the Moody Blues then we wouldn’t have Wings, or any of his solo albums.

That mystery of what will ensue is left to our imagination. The haunting beauty in the song.
He says in the lyrics that she will "see me cry". I think it is a given that they are finished. The only question is if she sees him cry or not.

His voice aged so much better than McCartney's. Maccas voice actually didn't really age that well compared to other singers
