Hey Euge, I absolutely love your channel (been a longtime subscriber) first time commenting! I enjoy the way you demo your amps, I’m especially intrigued by how you dial them in……….without looking! Most often we dial in tones with our eyes, not listening for the sweet spots. Your playing is always top notch & the amps always sounds so huge! Thanks for the awesome content, keep rockin! Cheers!
Thanks man! Yeah I’ve never understood why someone would use their eyes to dial a sound. I use my eyes for looking and my ears for listening. Makes sense to me especially ’cos I can’t hear a thing with my eyes 😎.
Cute little amp. Chunky demo song! You broke-out with the 7-string I see! Nice! I think it's a good bedroom practice amp, for someone that plays metal, and wants tubes. Price is $800 in the USA.
Damn!! That thing is think and juicy for 20 watts!! That clean with chorus sounded fantastic as well. Great sounding amp. Great review as always Euge. Have a great weekend 🤘 🤘
Did u like this amp? Ever thought about doing a recording class on metal guitar and teach how to record using a DAW and how to use your amp heads into the interface?! Excellent channel man! 👏
Can’t remember but if I remember correct the video was quite comprehensive? I go through my (recording) signal chain on pretty much every video but here’s a few with more details: - ua-cam.com/video/VFMl0Feoe2o/v-deo.html - ua-cam.com/video/pOJcfxfIWAk/v-deo.html Thanks!
That's a really cool guitar you got. I'd be interested to see a playthrough on the 6505mh. I've heard great things about it, basically a 6505 with a smaller power section.
Sounds good but the "problem" with small tube amps is headroom. It's not bad but is shows. The valves make the difference. But in the mix they usually work well. Great demo as usual.👍🏻
Tube amps below 50w just lacks ”something”. I’m a bedroom player and only have tube amps between 50-150w. Use a load box. This one sounds sterile. But awesome playing as always!
5150 kills it obvious. Way less buzzy. (Actually just rewatched the video the "noodling" part of your video sound totally different than during the comparison with the 5150. In that part the Invective doesnt have the buzzy sound that i heard in the comparison part) But the invective is a nice smaller amp with a shit ton of extras added to it. Like the gate, boost and tight buttons. I was deciding on this smaller invective or the ENGL Fireball 25W. I went with the ENGL. It's an insane amp. But the invective has alot more added features. Like the boost and tight.....But I have a 6505 already so wanted somthing different. So the Fireball it was and I'm happy with it. Thanks for making this video. Got a like and subscribe from me!
It’s about the reference. Our brains trick us so that’s why I always use my own amps, which I know like my own pockets, for reference so that I know where I’m at. Or where the tone is at 😎. Thanks man!
Great review. But as soon as you compared it to the block letter, to my ears it didn’t even get close. Maybe my ear is just attuned to the Peavey 5150 sounds, most of my favorite albums where recorded with 5150’s. There is something special about a block letter.
“And this one about”….hell yea when I hear those words it’s usually followed by a kickass vid by one of my favorite UA-camrs about some kickass piece of gear and killer playing! Mr Euge what interface do you use?
Thanks man! Atm Sennheiser UR816C but I’m upgrading to their AXR-T soon ’cos I’ve been mixing quite big productions lately, and will do more in the future, so I need really high quality professional interface with more I/O, superb AD/DA conversion etc.
Hey Euge! Would it be possible if you had time to do a video on pairing Marshall heads with other brand heads and how you would sculpt their sounds together to get a huge ass sound...especially for live situation purposes...like I have a silver jubilee and a rivera head that I pair up ( separate cabs) and sound pretty good, interesting to get your thoughts on it and might be good content idea? Cheers love your vids and music 👌
@@EugeValovirta230V I love your vids Euge. Must’ve missed it but I did watch at work. I’ll watch again. I happen to own the 120 head and I think it sounds great but I have to be away from amp if I’m too close it’s too piercing. I run it w/4x12 v30’s & other times w/2x12 w/cream backs. I’ll be ordering a six band eq to try and get it less harsh. I do love all the features I would’ve like a built in reverb for convenience
Hi Euge! I have a question. As a person who tried Invective MH and JVM410H (which are the two amps I own), would you say that Boogie Mark V 25 is a great third option? I'm interested in getting a third amp and I want it to be quite different sounding from the JVM and Invective MH. I never owned a Boogie before and don't know just how different it sounds.
Yeah Mk V is a great amp and quite different from those two so I’d recommend it. I mean I ended buying the Big 90w Mark V after I borrowed it from MusiX to do a video of it 👌😎.
Do you prefer this over 65-5 mh? I recently watched you sound demos of both amps and it seems you are in favor of classic tone more? I plan to buy one these days. I`m cosntantly switching back and forth what should i get , and keeps anoying me a bit. :) What would you choose between those two? Kind regards. \m/
My guitars are tuned anywhere between standard E to sometimes even drop - G#. Heavier strings and adjusting the neck, bridge, intonation etc. correctly and a standard LP style guitar works great in any tuning 😎🤟.
Nice toy that you played with red lady!!!

Tone-wise it sounded heavy and articulate which is what I would expect from a Misha amp. Sounds amazing in a mix.
Indeed 👌.
still pretty smooth too
what does Misha mean? I keep seeing people mention Misha in the peavey invective vids. Is Misha a Brand or Maker or an actual person

Which load box do you use. I’ve had them all and always unhappy with them and prefer the built in attenuator on newer amps

Any tips on keeping a mid-rich tone without it sounding boxy when recorded?
Dial them back until it’s not boxy 👌😎.
How does the 20w go for volume. Could you still gig or rehearse with an acoustic drum kit?
Sure! Just ask the monitor guy to put more in your wedges / in ears if the drummer is a really hard hitter 👌.

I think they both do the job really well but I’m so used to my old 5150 block letter from early 90s that I’d probably stick with a similar.
I have a Peavey Invective.120 and an Invective.412 cabinet for sale as a bundle. If someone want one. 1 Year old Barely Used.

Drop-A 💪
I tune my Esp to D standard. Thats about as low as i can drop it. Anything more is mushy and frets rattle is way bad.
