Correction 6 Sparrow for all FA18. The other two are placed along the fuselage.
For AIM 120 it will be max 10. 2 on fuselage.
And u forget spain to the list of nation with FA18C
My guess is that US will get the F-18/A as a squadron vehicle, the F-18/C as a tech tree version (after the F-14s), Germany might get a swiss F-18/A, Britain will get a Australian F-18, italy might get a spanish F-18, sweden will get a finnish F-18/A

@@StiveGuy Nope that i can confirm 100% the AV-8B plus is used by the marines, the F/A-18s were multi-role aircraft used by the NAVY and NAVY only its 100% going to go down the F-14 line

The Canadians use the CF-188 which is a licensed produced version of the F-18A+. It has an AN/APG-73 radar and is capable of carrying either 6 Sparrows, or 10 AMRAAMS on the 2 fuselage and 4 under wing hard points (each holding 2).
The BR should be 13.7 and should probably fall in the US tech tree as an event or premium vehicle. Unless they add a commonwealth tree which would be preferable.
The Australian Hornet was initially the F-18A but was later upgraded to the F-18A+ in Canada during the early to mid 2000s where it received the AN/APG-73 radar, the ALR-67 Radar warning receiver, and a helmet mounted cueing system.
Gaijin would have 2 options to add but personally I think they could add both. 1 in the tech tree in a ANZAC sub tree and 1 as a premium, squadron, or event vehicle.
If there is a Canadian or Australian f-18 it will go to uk tree

Superhornet could be closer than we think if gaijin decides to give us the early block 1 variants which has pretty much the same avionics as a late lot variant of the legacy hornet (lot 20+ i think) pretty much a similar radar or the exact same one and similar flight performance, as the jet is bigger and heavier but also has better engines and bigger leading edge extensions. Though the main issue with balancing a superbug is obviously the fact that it can carry 12 amraams and 2 sidewinders at the same fucking time. 2 sidewinders on the wing tips and 5 amraams on each wing with twin rail lau-127 launchers on the inboard and middle pylons of the wing and a singular launcher on the outboard plus the 2 on the fuselage. Block 2 and 3 are no go's as these have much more advanced avionics like the apg 79 aesa radar.
try balancing su-27 with 12 fckn missiles
I would prefer Gaijin add other early Cold War jets such as F-101 Voodoo and CF-105 Arrow before they started to add 4.5 and 5th gen jets.
not to mention the fact that the superbug also now carries the aim174b so that would be a problem in itself

Italy could also receive as the Spanish f18. The Spanish centauro is already in the Italian tech tree, so if they don’t make Spain a tech tree that could be a good addition to the Italian tech tree

Lets be real. With the way the snail is handling this stuff, we get the F/A 18 As in the winter update and the C in summer.
They are dragging this out to by them time, so that they can bring updates till 2030 or so.
if the F-18 really comes at the end of this year (like it was the last 2 years with good top tier fighters) together with a good russian naval counterpart, then the next update would be the perfect timing finally to add the F-14D. Please holy snail!
Dont forget F-16XL and F-15 STOVL/MTD, and F/A-18 Harv
The F-14D really isn't all that great it's just going to be another F-14 but with aim 9ms I doubt they add 120s because they were only tested on it

As much I we all want it, the F-15 STOVL/MTD won’t come because it wasn’t ever fitted with weapons, not even a cannon.
@@sgtj.peldridge4567being tested on it is still enough for gaijin as we have many vehicles that were tested with different ammunition but never used in service also i hope they give the f14b it's 9m since that is its primary IR missile during service
Hornet would probably feel more like a delta wing in warthunder because of the leading edge extensions on the fuselage and the relatively mediocre thrust to weight. The jet is notorious for its one circle performance. So probably expect it to not have good energy retention considering how warthunders air rb controls are where you cant control the speed in a 2 circle fight with pitch like you would irl and in dcs because in the game its either max pull on the elevators or no pull at all.
It's also a very good two circle plane from what Ive seen. Some say it has the smallest turning circle in DCS, though that's probably at a slower speed than other fighters.

If we get the Fa-18 gajin can finally give the Us and other nations the get the Fa-18 something on par with the kh-38’s because I don’t know if the original agm-84 can but I know there is a variant of the harpoon missile that is capable of hitting regular ground targets and not just ships

damn, you really forgot about the YF-17... the predecessor to the F-18, that would be a lot more like a twin engined F-16. really surprised its not in game already.

The RAAF got the initial F/A-18A then over the course of their lives upgraded it to similar levels as the F/A-18C. Later Australian Hornets used ASRAAMs which I'm not sure anyone else did on a Hornet?
Why isn't an early Rafale in the game? It's not like the Early Rafale's were so advanced that we need the F-15C, F-18s, and Su-27SMs or greater to counter them, this isn't the Eurofighter we're talking about here.

I don't know of any missiles aside from the MICA that the Rafale uses that the Eurofighter doesn't use. And the MICA is good, but nothing game breaking, at least not yet.
Granted I'm making a slight mistake on my recollection of the timing.
I thought the Rafale entered service in the early 90s not the early 2000s. But the Rafale does seem to have a viable platform by the mid-90s so I don't see why we can't start there bit to be fair that may be a bit of a stretch.
Now I'm not a Fremch tree player. I have no vehicles in the French tree unlocked so this isn't a French main decrying game bias towards others.
To my admittedly limited knowledge of the Rafale, it should have been in the game by now, I don't see the Rafale being do good that the F-15C or the Su-27SM, or their smaller contemporaries, such as the F-16C Mig-29SMT, Gripen, or even the J-10 don't stand a chance against them.
The only things that I recall the Rafale being excellent at was Electronic warfare. And that's not modelled in the game yet.
And the number of missiles that it can carry, again I'm not as familiar with the Rafale as I'd like to be, but the Rafale has something like 13 nylons it can use, unless 1 or more of those locations aren't suitable for Air-to-Air missiles the Rafale can carry a rough equivalent number of missiles to the Su-27SM.
Because it will be better in pure handling... After armament level it will have the same thing as the 2000-5F.

@@jameson1239 That's something I didn't know and that's a fair point.
But the reason I'd be against the Eurofighter is that I only know of the Eurofighter having both an AESA Radar and the Meteor missile.
Granted I'm not that familiar with European jets generally, so I could be speaking a half truth here, but if the timeline is anything to consider and if the early Eurofighters didn't have an AESA radar, then between the F-15C and the Su-27SM (Granted the Su-27SM is behind it's time because Russia fell behind after the collapse of the Soviet Union), both the Rafale and the Eurofighter could come to game now, minus the Meteor Missile at least as the effective range of the Meteor missile alone is concerning.
Correction about the Australian Hornets
The Australian Hornets were later upgraded to the F/A-18A+ so they were able to carry up to ten AIM-120s
Just hoping to see the FA18B and FA18D. The two seater hornets are more aesthetically pleasing to me. Will see them at some point. I could even see the fa18a/ fa18c go under the naval fighter line, then the fa18b/ fa18d going under the attacker line. Same capabilities but the B and D were used for spotting and a lot more ground support in the beginning.
The Canadian and Australian FA18s carry the same weapons as the C. So it would be top tier

So The CF 18 is a kind of weird one in a way that they are planning and already upgrading their legacy hornets with different mfds and radar- superhornet radar- so if Brit would get the base legacy it will stay like that till we have something balancing for the upgraded version.
F/A-18D should be added as a Strike Aircraft while the single engine ones are Jet Fighters, as USMC had separate squadrons for All Weather (nighttime) ground attack, called VMFA(AW)-xxx which were entirely composed of F/A-18D.
I have a feeling that when they decide to release the F 18 hornet they will also release the SU 33 flanker D with new aircraft carriers for both America and Russia but yeah, the first generation hornet should’ve already been in the game already. The first generation F 18 hornets released around the same time the first F16s were released

The Canadians use a FA/18+ Version in a license prod. So GB can also bekome a AIM 120 F18.
And Spain have use F/A-18Cs

it´s stupid we have modern jets like j-10 created in 1997 first flown in 1998 and introduced in 2005 or 2006 but we cant have a rafale fist made inthe 80´s and introduced in 2001, Eurofighter typhoon entered service in 2003 i mean f-22 entered service in 2005...
