I was ships company on the Theodore Roosevelt CVN-71 from 86 just after she was commissioned to 90 and left right before Desert Storm. I was an Aviation Ordnanceman (AO2) with the G-3 Division of the Weapons department. We were the Mag Rats. My job was all the weapons that attached to the aircraft. Once I made second class I was the QA for the missile magazines. Every Phoenix, Sparrow and Sidewinder that left the magazine had my initials in grease pencil affirming that they were assembled correctly and are configured correctly. If there was an issue, I would head up to the bomb farm behind the Island to check out the problem and fix it if possible. The ARM/DEARM crews were very hard on the arming levers and would break them. Many times arming wires on Mk 82/83/84's were fouled from poor handling, that kind of stuff. I was also one of the few who was sent to the Maverick A School for training so any issues with Mavericks were my job too. So you can imagine when I found DCS I was all in. And at that time we were still using the Tomcat B's, The Hornet C & D, the Intruders, Vikings, Hawkeyes and the Sea King helo's. I remember my first Med cruise during an UNREP we offloaded all our Standard ARM's and onloaded the HARMs that were just coming to the fleet in large numbers. Anyways, your video is very close to what the flight deck looked like (within limits of DCS) Many people make the mistake of spreading things out too far. The real flight deck and hangar bay was packed together like sardines in a can. There was 6" between wingtips and you could walk from one end of the hangar bay to the other without touching the deck. Just walk from jet to jet. Space is at a premium and none of it is wasted.

Key word there is civil. While the US Military is restricted in some operations by civil authorities they're not a civil body and fly by their own set of regulations on top of whatever civil ones may apply to them depending on the airspace they're in. Especially since this is carrier operations and not airfield operations their "airspace" is controlled by Carrier Air Traffic Control Center (CATCC). While the video doesn't necessarily operate 1:1 with real life they're not wrong for flying past that 250knot limit.
@@sonniedae6398 My intervention was purely sarcastic but, I found this that will give us more information (I am not a pilot...) and we all learn about the matter... This paragraph (b) does not apply to any operations within a Class B airspace area. Such operations shall comply with paragraph (a) of this section. (c) No person may operate an aircraft in the airspace underlying a Class B airspace area designated for an airport or in a VFR corridor designated through such a Class B airspace area, at an indicated airspeed of more than 200 knots (230 mph). (d) If the minimum safe airspeed for any particular operation is greater than the maximum speed prescribed in this section, the aircraft may be operated at that minimum speed. [Doc. Are you flying in vr ? Obviously your using a 4090 card
It's a 4080 RTX
That’s a compressed gas tanker
@mikerotch4597 LNG Correct
Can you ever do one these missions where it’s NOT RAINING??? 😂
Planned for next video or so
VFA-31 Tomcatters
Best of the best
Wow, I had no clue dcs was so intense, I have it downloaded but never opened it yet
You need to own modules too if you still didn't have I would recommend Super Carrier along with the F-18C
The rain effects a bit much, you cant see anything. In real life you can def see more than that lol.
From my understanding rain removal isn't modeled yet DCS if you have the F-4E you will notice that, I believe that it will be modeled at someone point in future 🙏
I think the rain effects is spot on.
Shouldn't you turn off those green safety lights on your aircraft when in combat? lol
Ngl thought this was live footage for a sec lmao
You forgor
in case 3 you are supposed to intercept the glide at 1200ft ASL not 800
I had no idea mate
I’m about to finish getting my 2 degrees I’ll see you boys in the sky🫡
Good luck mate 👍

Rain on the windscreen is too heavy. The canopies are cleaned and treated to bead water.
Deck crew wearing tinted goggles at night? 😎
I understand that you're looking for certain level of realism but to some extent this is a game after all! Don't be one of these people who would throw negativity on anything mate! Have a great weekend.
@@azrzgaming I can easily look past the goggles... but the rain is something that should be addressed by the devs.
That's a gas tanker, not oil.
canopy water effects are not correct, its too much
That is not an oil tanker...
Civil aviation regulations restrict speed below 10,000 feet, and cannot exceed 250 knots. 🤔
Okay thanks I had no idea that I was flying for real over there 🤣
@@azrzgaming Sure!😆
Key word there is civil. While the US Military is restricted in some operations by civil authorities they're not a civil body and fly by their own set of regulations on top of whatever civil ones may apply to them depending on the airspace they're in. Especially since this is carrier operations and not airfield operations their "airspace" is controlled by Carrier Air Traffic Control Center (CATCC). While the video doesn't necessarily operate 1:1 with real life they're not wrong for flying past that 250knot limit.

My intervention was purely sarcastic but, I found this that will give us more information (I am not a pilot...) and we all learn about the matter...
Code of Federal Regulations.
§ 91.117 Aircraft speed.
(a) Unless otherwise authorized by the Administrator, no person may operate an aircraft below 10,000 feet MSL at an indicated airspeed of more than 250 knots (288 m.p.h.).
(b) Unless otherwise authorized or required by ATC, no person may operate an aircraft at or below 2,500 feet above the surface within 4 nautical miles of the primary airport of a Class C or Class D airspace area at an indicated airspeed of more than 200 knots (230 mph.).

🤔
I flew the real F/A-18 in the USN, 250 below 10k restriction does not apply to us. I’ve brought the jet into the break at an airfield at 635KCAS and 800’. We do low levels at 200’ and 480-540KCAS.
