I think, before 5th gen is even considered, they need to add mechanics for ECM combat like is used by the E/A 18 G Growler. Things to mess with radar and false radar contacts etc and reducing radar range or jamming them so much they might as well be fighting stealth aircraft. The famous story of the early 80s conflict where an intruder jammed some libyan migs and tomcats came up, took a picture and flipped them off until they left because they didnt even see them on scan
That was used by MiG-21s already, I don't think they will add it soon
we don't even have mig25 or the mig31 yet but we have the F15A which was made to compete the mig25

The Mig 25 will either suck or be absolutely broken. It can't turn, climbs slower than the F15, goes slower than the F15, carries less missiles than the F15 it will probably just be the Maus of air rb

It has ultra long range missiles though that could be a phoenix counter.
We need bigger maps. BVR isn’t really BVR right now. We need maps that are hundreds of square miles so that people can actually employ their missiles and radars the way they were intended. A lot of BVR involves lots of speed, lots of altitude to be successful. In some ways the BVR fight is boring and in other ways the BVR fight can be terrifying.
Than they should increase the match lengh and reduce the player nubers constantly. But what are we doing with the planes that do not have fox3 stock? I wont be able to fire an AIM9L at 600km
128x128km is currently engine limit (its 131x131km, but for proper power of 2 sake they use 128x128km), and before Dagor 6, a major dagor update was released ever 2 years or so. And Dagor 6 released 4 years ago almost. We had a mid engine upgrade of Dagor 6.5 2 years ago, which would mean we should be seeing Dagor 7 with expanded map limits very soon, maybe december update.
simulator battles in vr in a top tier jet with bvr would be so much fun off an adrenaline rush seeing yourself get locked up lots off ground targets would be fun as well being able to run s.e.a.d missions would be cool as well imagine you start flying intercept missions against the people flying the sead mission would be so fun

The Su35 sounds amazing. I love how the Su27 looks but its radar is such a handicap.
They’d probably go with the Su-27SM2/3 first (SM2 is upgrade of old airframes, while SM3 is new airframes. In WT they’d be functionally identical). It’s an Su-27 with the PESA radar of the Su-35, and would probably get R-77-1. This would be a good counter to the F-15C with AESA and AIM-120C-5.
Su-35 would be a good match to the F-15EX, as both those have airframe and engine upgrades, and would get the latest R-77M and AIM-120D.

They could do F/A-18A&C this October, then add the Eurofighter and Rafale (maybe even the F/A-18E) this December. Would give Germany a good top tier quickly, while letting the hornet be the headliner for its update.

@@-..----.--.-...cause they nerfed/made underpowered both Su-27’s FM and flare sensitivity of R-73’s (look at DCS there’s no way you are able to flare off R-73 inside 1km but by preflaring from any aspect, and now look at WT - if it wasn’t launched from a perfect 0deg aspect (when you’re on target’s 6) then the R-73 will go to a single flare) to not make Su-27 OP in game at close ranges cause 9X’s are still not there and most likely will be added with F-35’s/22’s so then they’ll fix its FM at the same time adding 9X’s to other planes such as late F-16’s etc
@@СергейНикольский-я2ц I think they nerfed fm not because of possibility of su-27 being op. Look at mig-29, when it was added it also had bad fm for about a month, but then they fixed it and it actually became competitive in a dogfight with f-16a. But then they just nerfed it without any reason, while buffing f-16.

@@-..----.--.-... yes and no, it is developed and tested but not build in for the simpel reason that there is no airplane that can keep up with EF in maneuver field. So practically there is no reason to build it in for maintenance reasons. But you can check it your self the tech is tested and developed for the EF2000.

And the reason is not because "no aircraft can keep up with ef", but because it greatly increases the price of the aircraft, but does not pay off with efficiency, as close range fight are very rare and aerodynamic configuration of ef already gives it good control at high speeds and high altitude
F15EX will be crazy
I doubt it. It’s a missile bus with a good radar, a second seat, and conformal fuel tanks. Any other 4th gen fighter would eat it alive in dogfight.
@@PvtPartzzyeah, but how often are dogfights happening? It’s about missiles, radars, and engines. The F-15 has a great flight model as long as it stays above 500kts.
The F-15EX would get an AESA array, AIM-120D’s, and the GE engine seen on the F-16C and F-14B, it would have a 1.3:1 T/W ratio. The only jet that would be quicker is the Typhoon.

Im not really into the Fighters I was hoping to see more bombers of the Cold War like the V-force, B-52's or a B-36, even perhaps a TSR*2.
I think they should add stuff like the b52 or tu95, air refuelling for sim and intercept missions would be kinda hard because of map size and I guess if you wanted that then you can also just say play dcs but it think it would just add something else especially for sim

The enemy base should be invisible and random each map just like EC. also i hope EC comes for RB one day.

@@-pr0vat70that’ll be way too much for RB players since most of them can’t even read RWR properly or use manual radar controls, and most of them will delete the game cause of invisible 9M’s (look at sim, 9M’s were terrorising top tier without leaving a single chance for any plane that doesn’t carry them until fox-3’s were added and now 120’s do the same thing but they’re not nearly as OP as 9M’s were in IRCCM meta).
I’d say that they should increase spotting range (from 2-5km to at least 10km), remove markers from targets that were spotted by allies and from allies (so you’ll see only those targets that you spotted by yourself and will have to use radar if there’re no targets nearby), immediately remove markers from those who hid behind terrain, remove maps such as small Afghan, small Spain, City, Sinai and other small/flat maps from top tier, add new maps with a normal terrain (like Afghan) and normal sized (150x150km+)
I think the most notable improvement will be ESA radars. It will be a huge step up in situational awareness, bc current spotting system sucks, and mechanic radars have very narrow angles in TWS.
Well, just you wait until ECM comes out, because then you will have to narrow that angle to achieve burn-through.
What you really need before that is team-wide Voice comms with a test that requires you to set up your mike correctly and GCI/AWACS support during combat.
The test for voice comms should be something along the lines of it making a test recording of you talking with game sounds in the background and if too much of the game sounds come through, you get rejected, so either no VOIP if too bad or Push-to-talk only. PTT should be standard imho. This should take care of all the idiots on speakers where you hear all the game sounds and feedback loops as soon as someone talks.
Voice comms are needed for proper target indentification and too coordinate.

They can just an eurofigther with normal weapons , gbu´s 16/48 and some jdams , slap some aim 9´s on it with some aim 120´s and they fixed the problem for germany that they don´t have an REAL jet fighter/ground pounder . and after some time they can give it real wepons iris-t and meteors . they could have given germany all ready an f18 from swiss but made it not to strong just to give germany an new ground pounder / jet fighter .
Also stealth fighter are not invisible to radar, you just needed to get way closer to be able to get a lock on them, given the very long range of missiles like the newer versions of the AIM-120, or the MDBA Meteor, the stealth plane will he able to aquire a lock way before its opponents will be able to lock on them, and probably by the time their opponents realize they have a missile, or bombs coming their way, the stealth plane will be very far away.
This is one of the reasons why many 4.5 Gen fighters kind of skipped the PESA family of Electrically Scanned Array Radars and were upgraded directly to the AESA radar standard. Since the AESA, and other new technologies provide both a very great range and sensibility that's useful to reduce the stealth fighters' advantage.
In the Grinpen's case there are a humber of active research lines on the Gripen Program to replace some of its parts to composite materials that are radar absorbent, increasing its capabilities even further, if compared to the C/D variants.
tbh i am a bit worried about the Rafale, because gaijin can make it realistic and let him be one of the top 3, or they can just introduce it as a complete disapointement (like every french top tier vehicles), his BVR capabilites are pretty difficult to balance, because they can leave the MICA in his current state of underperforming, they can fix it or they could potential give it the R77-1 (Serbia recently bought some Rafale and have planned to add R77-1 to it), it would balance the things out, especially since i think the 4.5 will come with better ARH missile like the AIM120C but that wouldn't be realistic since serbia will have their Rafale in 2029 and that the he greatly evolved between the first variants and 2029, there is also another option (the most unlikely i think) is that they add the MICA NG but it would be a power creep, AESA radar, double stage trust vectoring engine with the same range as the AIM120C and it's not even in service yet. I would prefer the second option (fix the MICA), currently the MICA is the worst BVR ARH but IRL he should be on par or even out-performing the AIM 120A and B, by doing that it would still be the plane with the worst BVR ARH at top tier (if the 120C and the R77-1 get added) but it would still be way better, and the combination of the Rafale + MICA + PESA radar + HMD (if they do like the mirage and they give it even if his earliest standards)it would created a mid range monster, like the current M2K-5F but on steroids. but after a few years of playing the french TT, i don't place much hope in gaijin capacity to make a french vehicle realistic, there is so much to say on most french top tier.
(btw, it's not pronouced Rafaleee but Rafal, you don't pronounce the E since in french it would be wrote like that 'Rafali") anyway, good and usefull video as always, keep going mat, but mind take some poses, a lot of youtubers have got trought burn-out with such rythm and none of you subscriber want you to experience that, love
What? The mirage 2000-5f is an incredible dogfighter, with one of, if not the best, radas in-game. The best fox 3 too. The 4k is even better kinematically. France hasn't been a disappointment air wise for a long time
Why use the R-77?
The french navy already uses the MDBA Meteor on their Rafale.
What worries me more about the Rafale is that even if it's not totally stealth like a 5th gen (but it does have a big reduction in its radar area, and anyway I don't think stealth gameplay will be useful on WT as long as the maps are 20km²...), it puts more emphasis on electronic warfare, notably with its EW suit SPECTRA.
In India's latest tests, a Su30's radar fried against the Rafale, which could give it some advantages, but I don't see Gaijin working on anything like that unfortunately.

IMO that basically already is the Gripen C in WT. Highly Maneuverable, amazing Air to Air as well as Air to Ground capabilities with the newest and most modern weapon systems, a good radar and if newer weapon systems get added it still is compatible with them.
Dont forget most 4.5 gen fighters have rwr with the capability of targeting planes with radars on using esm

I think when gajin said that j10 is 4,5 gen i think it is kinda introducion to f18 rafale eurofighter and much more they want us to be ready for this haos
J10 is a 4.5 but is still inferior to things like the Rafael and Eurofighter. Even the F15 is still better than the J10.
We need like a simulator battle, but with the controlls of realistic, and making it really large, so u can spawn in a gang of gripens, and make it so theres like very few players, it would be more fun than this braindead nonsense of just flying towords enemies and fireing everything you got. And make kill rewards in this said battle type muuch higher

Im afraid of the addition of the Su-35S, as it has an interesting system; an ADS, which is an air displacement sensor, which would break the game as it could track anything, stealth or not
I think we're going to see later versions of what I'll call c models we have in game and maybe something like the Eurofighter before we get into the real 4.5 plus fighters. For instance, a Gripen C with meteor missiles and AIM-132s or AIM-9Xs or an F-15 with AIM-120C7s and AIM-9Xs
The meteor will definitely broke top tier bvr, better range than phoenix and every 120
5th gen is pretty much just 4.5gen with stealthy charactaristics with the exception of the rafale having a lower RCS than your typical 4.5 or 4th gen but not being enough to be classed as a stealth jet
And we'll probably see a lot of electronic countermeasures too with these newer jets coming

Electronic countermeasures should’ve already been in the game a long time ago with 3rd gen aircraft. For example the viggen and F-4 both had ew pods but the fact not even 4th gen’s have ew means it’s gonna be a long time before gaijoobble decides to add it. The main reason they probably haven’t added it yet is probably because it would make Russia unplayable. India did a lot of tests and found out most nato ew systems can actually completely shut down Russian aircraft radars and even the su-35 radar was made unusable when it was pitted up against a Rafael that only used the radar jamming systems and not even the built in jammers of the Rafael.

i think 5th gens would work fine in the game if they dont put any of the stealth or lower radar cross section as with them it would just be next to imposable to properly balance expecally with countries that dont have those proper 5th gen aircraft, with out it you just have a very effective plane which is much easier to balance with the other countries

maps are too small for f22s and f35. when youre that close to them you should be able to radar lock them we really aren't that far from each other map wise

I don't doubt that Gaijin will eventually introduce 5th Gen fighters on WT, but if and when it does so, it will have to solve a lot of major problem in the current nations' lineup, because not all of them operates 5th Gen fighters, also, even those which do operates them, most have only have one model of this type of fighter, which are, for most nations in the game the F-35.
We can argue that each of the F-35 is a different type of fighters, but yet, France, Germany and Sweden operates no stealth fighter, Britain and Italy only operates 2 variants, the F-35A and F-35B, Israel just one variant, the F-35A.
Russia and China have only one stealth fighter in service, the Su-57 Fellon and J-20 Mighty Dragon. Arguably you can give Russian and China another 5th Gen fighter by assuming that Shenyang FC-31 Gyrfalcon, and Su-71 Checkmate are available to these nations, but that would be stretching the reality quite a bit. Specialy in the case of Russia, since the Su-71 didn't even reach prototype stage yet, just static mockup for airshows, no prototype was, and at this point, Russian economy is so weak after the sanctions that it probably no prototype will ever be made. At least the FC-31 actualy is a real paane, prototypes were made, tested and evaluated by the PLAAF, and even though it lost the bid to the J-20, it is still in active development since Shenyang opted to keep developing the fighter in order to attempt to sell it to the PL Navy, or to be allowed to sell it for China's allies, both of which didn't materialize yet.
This gives a clear advantage to the USA would have not only all three variants of the F-35, as well as the F-22, which would greatly favor the USA tech tree over the others.
And if you go on to put ou technology demonstrator and prototypes that lost bids in the mix, like the FC-31 and the Su-71, then the USA could have as many as 6 different stealth fighters, as there are also the YF-23 Back Widow and the X-32.
It would be a nightmare to balance 5th Gen fighter, not even counting the fact that we barely have nuch tangible real world information about them, as msot of what we think we know about them is highly classified, and a lot of what isn't is either fluff or too generic to make a realistic flight model.

No it would not look like that. AESA does not "scan" in the way you think with normal radar.
The first plane with a PESA array in War Thunder will be Mig 31. The first AESA will be the Japanese F2. Mig 25 might be a premium and the tech tree will jump straight to Mig 31.

you mention the JAS39 that we have in game as a "Gen4", thing is that the JAS39C in game is what the JAS39A should be. even the original JAS39C should be a "4.5" and later variants even more so. right now the C is capped for some BS reason, there is no reason for it to be in the game as it is right now.
same thing with the JA37D, it is just what the JA37C should be. the real reason to we made the JA37D was for it to be operational along side with the JAS39A WITH AIM120......
Gripen E is more like a "Gen5" with it's top of the line electronics suite.

The problem is the Europfighter and Rafael are too good. Russian aircraft can’t really compete, and the US you would need a late variant F-16 or something.

@@jjnmr pretty good yes. Very good manoeuvrability and (I believe) capable of carrying later variants of Fox-3. I don’t think they have the meteor or ASRAAM but some AMRAAMs or something similar could be quite over powered on such a fast and manoeuvrable platform.

The early Eurofighters tranch 1 and 2 and the early Rafaels can easily be implemented right now, they are on par with the Gripen C.

To put it more simply, the 4.5 generation are improved aircraft but they do not have a technology that marks a before and after, or they do not have an overwhelming technological advantage compared to the previous generation.
And the maps and game modes won't be updated....

Next update idea: F-14D(AIM-120A, AGM-88 Harms), F-14B(gets AIM-9M), F-14A(AIM-9Ls), F/A-18A/C(USA), AIM-120C/D, R-77-1, F-14's getting there VTAS(HMS like F-4S)
too much stuff for US. Also F14 couldn't fire aim 120, it was a failed test although the Iran f14 getting r27 which it couldn't guide does change that.
First off the f14d never used the aim 120 or the agm88, second why would they add the aim 120d lol, the most I could see them adding is an aim 120c-5 and that’s a stretch, but they could add the c5 since the r77-1 and pl12 are very similar to it, I could see an f18a with 9l and 7ms added but the c I think will come in December, and the r77-1 would come with the aim 120c-5 but the thing is is that no jet currently uses it in game, the smt or su27sm use it, so they would have to add a new jet (probably an su30) and last the f14s never used hmd or hms so it will never ever receive it
@@lazer2238 F-14, couldn't directly use the AIM-120, because it was never installed into the fleet. However, the some F-14's were modified to be able to, for testing

top tier is just broken, not fun to play anymore, we need bigger maps, different matchmaking, 1v1´s, theres no bvr anymore, its just a fox-3 dogfight 5 minute match we need dcs like gameplay or gaijin will start losing many players

Well it will be the only thing in this game when they keep adding more of the modern BVR that is immune to countermeasures and inescapable like ASRAAM or MICA IR. Especially the BVR IR missiles those are so OP that even F22 and F35 will struggle against it.
