Kingsfield 1 floor 1 to me is the Mario 1-1 of 3D games, it's so great to replay, it's very open to skilled play. You can do anything in any order to get early advantages or even skip the level out right. It's absolutely iconic
I think the graphics are also incredibly charming. Like, even he green gems in that intro screen. Theres something magical in graphics and renders of that time.
This is the best coverage of Doki Doki Panic 3D that I've ever seen. I realize a bunch of people have already made this joke in the comments but let's just really hammer it home. I definitely hope to play through this series someday, all the stuff you've shown off in this vid and during streams has looked pretty fun. A couple of my friends tried to play through King's Field IV on the PS2 for a while, but that was my only first-hand exposure to the series. Pretty sure they gave up on it relatively quickly haha! Good vid as always!
Ah king's field. My younger self never got too far in the first NA release but It's experience always stuck with me and they were a real pleasure to revisit. For those checking out the series for the first time outside of the 4 main entries there is a demo of 3 "pilot style" with an English translation that's a sort of prequel to 3. Well worth the trouble since it's just more KF. Shadow Tower and Eternal Ring are also worth a look since they're the only other games like KF.
I actually think about the graphics in kings field whenever i revisit it and honestly.. when I was a kid the graphics seemed perfectly normal to me. The games I had to compare them with with on the ps1 (cuz otherwise I was still playing dos games n stuff on the computer) were frogger, tarzan and medal of honor and to me the graphics quality was quite consistent. It wasn't until later looking back on the ps1 (as a whole even) that kings fields graphics didn't seem to age very well.. but as we know nowadays with retro gaming fandom, theres still a charm to it and certainly a nostalgia for it. I feel like that should go for early 3D games as much as it goes for 2D games.
I enjoy the rambling nature of the intros.
You might be the only one.
Yeah I agree I love your normal intros

That's a bit of a stretch but if that's your bag I'm not going to argue.

Doki Doki Panic is nothing to joke about and great story! I was having a tough time falling asleep and it really did the trick.
Glad I could help!!
