      Ikr, my Sister is using relaxer and it bothers me so much, how damaged & wrong it looks, Thats what it is, it looks just wrong, like the Problem with Relaxed Afro Hair ist also most cheap Products Look so „Fake“ straight, like you immediately see if somebody uses Relaxers bc of the Way it looks, even if bone straight, naturally straight Hair looks different. And additionally Usually Balck People don’t have straight Hair naturally, everyone knows that anyway.

      CHABIE DER BÄR bruh same here and she tells me that I’m stupid and my hair looks disgusting and that I should give up... and I’m like ayt give it two years. She also always questions why does she need t have long and thick hair, I tell her it’s the relaxer and she ALWAYS denies it?? Wtf she is really getting in my nerves, worse part she is older bruh

    Random though: I've noticed that a lot of black hairdressers never use to advertise or mentioned silk presses . They always "encouraged" relaxers by saying "your hair is due" 🙄

    It's almost kind of sad we didn't know just how beautiful our hair was for all these years my hair is much longer and thicker from my pic. None the less it's a journey worth traveling so refreshing

    You look exactly like R&B singer Fantasia but with an English accent. Lol . I like the encouragement you are giving girlie :). I'm transitioning to natural and I have had my hair cut real short before twice so I know how I'll look with short hair but I will not big chop I opt to grow it out gradually.

    Natural hair is healthy& beautiful. Relaxers are harsh chemicals that damage the hair. Your hair looks very good.

      I agree. I find it a bit annoying how people are so negative about people who relax their hair. It’s their hair. So what? Some people do it because it’s not manageable other wise because they don’t have the time for it. There are people who relaxed their hair for years, maintained it, and it looks good and healthy, there are videos on you tube

    Hi! I'm a subscriber or your channel and I have a short story,
    When I was younger, my mom relaxed my hair and it wasn't too short and over the years of keep getting them, my hair began to get shorter, and unhealthy. So I just started going natural and now my hair is much stronger and still in the process of transforming but thank u for sharing your story 😍😍 love your channel btw

    I remember the first time my hair was relaxed the hairdresser used to 'press' my relaxed hair down to flatten it so it looks like I had short straight hair (which was what I always wanted back in the day) but without products and styling gel my relaxed hair used to always look like a spikey afro as it always stands out as if I was electricuted LOL! But I never knew what a silk press or a press what so I always have to gel my hair to make it flat so I would look a bit professional with straight short hair (my hair was always short while relaxed, sometimes medium short) and the very last time I had my hair relaxed was back in 2014 around Spring or Summer time (I had my full on haircut in January with only 1 inch of hair) and when the months have passed since I noticed my natural curls/coils growing out from my relaxed hair and I felt self consious about what I looked like because my hair was look awful I was worrying a lot about what was going on when I looked at my old pics I took of my 'transitioning' hair! (I didn't know a THING about transitioning hair at all) but in the end, this was September (weeks after my 27th birthday) I wanted to cut off the remaining relaxed hair because after months of relaxed hair made it look ugly due to new natural hair growth growing underneath. And I've been natural ever since! Never going to that black crack (nickname to relaxer) EVER AGAIN!!!

    mmm, sounds like you were glad about going natural because you have 'good hair'. What would have happened if your hair had been 4c?

    • @MissAudreyBee
      @MissAudreyBee  6 років тому +20

      dfd hvv No, not at all. I was happy that I went natural because I got to finally see my hair in its natural state and I finally saw it as beautiful. I believe ‘good hair’ is healthy hair, no matter the texture. Some parts of my hair are 4C and I love it. I was was fully 4C I would still be happy that I went natural, as I’m embracing the hair growing from my scalp. X

    I transitioned for two years for the same reasons you did. I let my friend cut my hair into a bob before I transitioned though. That was the shortest my hair ever been. I cut the last bit of the ends in the summer of 2013. I’ve been natural ever since, but been super lazy in taking care of it for the last 2yrs. Been going back to basics from when I started to get back on track.
