Congrats on a happy purchase! All my life I've *only* driven large Yukon/Tahoe. Life changes. I'm wondering how comfy this thing feels to sit in. I'm sort of, well, a fatty. 5.11 - 240 pounds. Do you feel it's somewhat roomy? Does it feel like a "small compact car'? Thanks for any observation.
I got the 2022 aspec advance and I have no regrets! It's practical, sporty, comfortable and the interior is amazing. I highly recommend this, originally I went to test drive the new MDX and was sitting in this waiting for the salesman in the showroom. Ended up driving away in it lol
FINALLY!!! Acura finally listened to everyone by combining the two packages! There was never a reason why they couldn't have both. It was a main reason why the last two times I was in the market for a new car, I crossed off Acura.
Yes now if they shipped the car back to Japan the fit and finish would be in line with Lexus and the old Acura's. Yes Joe the new Acura's fit and finish is crap. Also German cars and a great fit and finish.
I owned the 19 RDX Advance until this year, this is the model I would had purchased from the very beginning. I wish the MDX had this option as the MDX will be what i'll probably purchase.
It's all about Acura trying to make more money from you buddy. They will never give you everything you want from the get go. They want you to purchase the same car again if you really do love it.
Just picked mine up in this trim level in blue w/black interior and I am loving it! For those of you wondering..Apple CarPlay and Android Auto operate in a button-swipe fashion. Thank you for your review, Joe! You and Lori do an awesome job.
I think at this price point it would be nice to see powered tilt & telescoping steering wheel adjustment, especially paired with the memory seating. Otherwise this seems like a terrific luxury compact SUV option without breaking the bank.
@Marisol Lin The Lexus NX 350 is almost 10k more than a comparable RDX. The Lexus has more torque but similar hp. The base Lexus NX 250 is basically the Toyota Rav 4 engine which is loud and slow. Reliability is usually bulletproof with Lexus but it's the first year design which almost always has problems.
@@GlennTerryJr The 350 f sport is $64,900 in Canada. The base RDX goes for $46,300 and has most of the features of the Lexus including similar engine performance. Acura is the best value. Also, the Lexus did a complete redesign for 2022 which always comes with some bugs.
If they add the Advance Pkg to the TLX Type S, I'll buy it!! I have a '21 TLX Advance now and would love the extra power and be able to keep these Advance features! Glad they added it to the RDX for the A-SPEC. Very cool! Thanks!!
@@RaitisRides I like that you can turn on the camera (via wiper arm) when you need it to park and not F'up the front spoiler on the curbs!! That would save big time on the Type-S!!!
The TLX Type S in Canada already gets some of the Advanced package features like 360 camera and heated steering wheel. Considering it's made in the same factory in Ohio, the American Type S could easily get the same.
I own this exact model and color combination as of Friday, November 12th. It is awesome, loving it very much so far. I also think the front end lines look BETTER on the RDX than the MDX, mostly due to the size and the "X" that is formed around the fog lights of the MDX that is not present on the RDX. At my age and taste, I took this RDX over the BMW all the way, no regrets.
@@RaitisRides Absolutely and I've watched so many of your videos and reviews. Your mention for liking the Apex Blue Pearl in some of your videos influenced me to go for it rather than boring white exterior and black interior. Definitely not disappointed and very happy with the Apex Blue with Orchid interior.
My favorite Acura feature that my 2007 MDX had (and I wish my Mercedes had) is the key fob is linked to the memory seats and other settings. Great feature!
This is a gorgeous looking suv and the review is on point as usual. I can not wait to see the redesign of the new RDX with the type s variant and hopefully they eliminate the track pad for a more ergonomic touch screen.
Absolutely love your reviews. You're a gem (and a GOAT)! One of my brothers (a total gear head) passed suddenly and unexpectedly a few years ago. He was driving an MDX at the time. His car stayed in our family. Another brother is enjoying it now. After watching your review of the new RDX, I plan to buy one in his honor! 😍
Compared to a similarly priced BMW X3, Audi Q5, or Mercedes-Benz GLC, I'm buying this RDX every time. Value proposition is great across the range of trims. Plus, you get higher expected reliability with Acura. Coming from an audiophile, the ELS Sound System in this car is phenomenal for the price. I personally think that unless you care more about the logo on the hood of your vehicle at this size, you should choose the RDX over the X3, Q5, or any of the other competitors at a similar price. The Genesis GV70 is also phenomenal when it comes to bang for your buck in this segment.
I agree with you - as someone who test drove the compact German SUVs, the value just wasn't there...sure, great brand cache, but that's not enough to justify spending up to $10k more for a similarly equipped German car. Genesis GV70 is probably a better car than the RDX, but I hate the design...it looks like an unoriginal Frankenstein car, borrowing parts from MB, Jaguar, Porsche, and a little bit of Bentley. All this to say is I ended up going with an RDX about a month ago and absolutely love it.
Gotta admit Acura kinda pushed the envelope with this one. I’m not big on SUV’s but this one is kinda special . Btw great review as always to the both of you . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What’s with all these vehicles with LED’s all around but incandescent for the signal light? Probably cost way more since it’s a moving/blinking bulb compared to headlights and DRL’s that’s just steady light?
Lol I think you were a little too hard on Acura asking for ventilated back seats. I don't know any car in that price point that has that. Aside from that really good review 👍

Nice review Joe, love the look, color, and interior. However, it's overpriced at $51K, a better choice would be Genesis GV70 and its rear wheel drive to boot. Shocking that at that price you don't get a digital gauge cluster or full led light on the exterior.

I feel like the biggest downfall of this car is the fact that they still haven’t updated it to a touchscreen. The interface pad is so outdated it’s ridiculous. This is why I’ll be going with the RAV4 hybrid instead
I’m really impressed by this vehicle but why no plastic fender arch protectors? By comparison the MDX does have fender protectors. Why are they different? I ask because so many vehicles without are vulnerable to stone chips and rust. I don’t get it. These days most SUV’s are equipped with them.
I really wish they would have added a digital gauge cluster and made the main screen a little bit bigger. 10 inch seem to be a little small in 2021 and please make it a touch screen as well. I also dislike the claw shaped tail lihhts. They look cheap. Other than that, it is a very appealing parkage. Great hadlling, handsome looking exterior, spacious cabin, and well price.
I stopped watching the video when you mentioned that the HP is still the same. I don’t know!!. When Honda/Acura will learn that to stay competitive you have to actually change and do some real upgrades. Increasing the size of the exhaust but keeping the rear turning signal lights without leds, that’s ridiculous. It’s not hard to imagine this fellow in a plaid sport coat selling Studebaker Larks in a previous life.
Nice review Joe, love the look, color, and interior. However, it's overpriced at $51K, a better choice would be Genesis GV70 and its rear wheel drive to boot. Shocking that at that price you don't get a digital gauge cluster or full led light on the exterior.
Not to mention no automatic lift gate
@@TheKauaiboyz51 I believe it does open when you waive your foot underneath the bumper. But, you're right it does not automatically open after a few seconds of standing behind it like the GV70.
This is a discount. Stop it bro. SHAWD is winning races against RWD. what races is Genesis winning?
@@rahimi4762 This is not about winning races. I prefer a rear wheel drive vehicle and always have. However, if this tickles your fancy more power to you.
Have a great day!
@@roguewear21 i own a 2020 hyundai santa fe and even that opens automatically after 3 seconds. sure its a limited trim but comeon lol. this vehicle was $34k before taxes and extras. still has a 2.0T AWD and digital gauges
I have the 2021 a spec rdx but good lord the new headlights on the 22 look menacing
Tell me about it!
I wish you would shift it down so I could hear the sound of the compression from the engine
That is a very good point!
Thanks Raiti's I'm a woman who loves cars, and I love your videos too ❤️ one love
Thank you, I will be getting this in a few months .
Seats 💺 are spectacular 👌 🙌
If this had a touchscreen this would kill the competition.
I think you may be right!
"put a couple rocks inside those snowballs????" hahahaha
I like the rdx, good video joe
Thanks for letting me bring it to you!
The brakes and rotors are the same size in all trims. I would go with the base model. It is basically loaded and has everything you need.
Thanks for sharing your input! The bas model is very well equipped for sure.
Royal BLUE RDX. ACE BACK gloss BLACK. precision grill TRUBO charge power. GREAT video review
JOE let’s give it a GO . SUPER HANDLING ALL WHEEL drive .
Hopefully they will add the touch screen for 2023.
Probably not until the redesign
You are not alone with that desire.
Put an order in for mid February same color but black interior today.
Congrats! You will love it!
I am not seeing the backup tyres in any of the Acura RDX reviews. Just wondering if they have it or not.
I guess the rule at Honda is, “we cannot be better than the Germans”. “We should be always the underdogs”. It blows my mind!!.
