Great review! I like how informative and neutral you were but at 18:05 when you compared this to the Genesis: Hyundai/Genesis as well as Kia had to recall hundreds of thousands of their vehicles again this year because of engine problems. Even professional mechanics and car enthusiasts as yourself have admitted that Hyundai tried too hard to push for a luxury brand to compete with its German and Japanese competitors. The result was a disastrous auto engineering, hence, why it has a 10-year warrant for its cars. Also, funny how you mentioned how the Lexus NX has more horsepower yet this vehicle could outdrive even its F sport trim. Between the two, I’d choose Acura for its renown Honda’s reliability and greater resale price.
This guy is obviously getting paid. Unfortunately Alex too (not a surprise, Korean companies are well known for paying to inflate charts and for bribery). The way they annoyingly push people to think Genesis is luxury brand, and the artificially positive talks about Hyundai give them away. Not to mention the fake accounts cheering then up and also mentioning Genesis 🤦 I'm not really expecting much from these two. Imagine how irresponsible (and probably mediocre working success) a person is when they jump to a UA-cam channel to live. Now they are large, but the issue is "how they started". I don't really think these two have any sense of moral or ethics, and only prove how bad idea using them as reference is.
By the way, not only recalls, but Hyundai was found destroying evidences of their car problems, and more recently, one of their employees also showed how they have been hiding seriously dangerous problems in their cars.
@@markvisser388 Oh yeah I read about that too! The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said in November of 2020 that Hyundai and Kia would have to pay $137 million to cover fines and safety improvements meant to remedy the engine issue. All started with an Australian that now defends Hyundai even when they are caught with issues that may kill people.
They aren’t wrong. Any manufacturer will have recalls. Even Toyota and Lexus has had recalls in their products. Doesn’t mean Toyotas are now dangerous to drive you know. The gv70 is a better vehicle than the Rdx certainly better than the new Lexus nx.
You push buttons frequently while driving? Thought Acura already had more features than a Honda. I also don't like light filtering in from a pano moon roof and in Sol Cal it is hot like crazy when I visit.
Problem is with going to the large screen is they would have to update the center console. Because, the screen would take up more of the view out of the front window.
Overall my 2021 RDX is a good car, but the vehicle is not without “precision “ issues. The nav system does not have a decent file system in order storage for addresses-the roof liner rattles and the rear seat hinges. The dealer fixed the rattle within the heads-up display. The gas-saving start shakes the car way more than my brother's Hyundai. I was disappointed in the road noise suppression, which has been addressed for 2022.
I spent time with the RDX a couple of days ago and cameras font do it justice. Much better looking car in person and the cabin is well appointed as well. The GV70 would be my number one pick in this segment, but this is definitely number two

Hmmm... Acura actually listened to the customers...Most Car companies don't do that... the A-Spec with Advance package is the biggest and best change to me.. Its what we wanted.. Like not having a heated steering wheel, 360 camera etc in the Advance but not it the A-spec.... This RDX is a perfect blend of sportiness and comfort... unlike some competitors.... #Savage Alex from Alexonautos coming on this review is awesome! How is the "Auto Drive" Features on the 2022 model? Does it stay in lane without the ping Pong effect iv noticed on other honda products? I dont want to compare it to the Tesla but how close does it come?
The GLC 300 still has just 255 HP...unless you are talking about the next gen GLC 300 coming out in 2023, which is also going to be a larger vehicle than the current model...but even the GLE has the same 255 hp...also, the updated NX has just 3 more HP, and there will be availability issues plaguing delivery as in all new cars now..
I like it. For me it's a toss up between it and the Audi Q5. Can the simulated engine sounds over the speakers be disabled? That would annoy the heck out of me.
Well 10.25 inch screens are like the standard now so wouldn't say it's small, just could be bigger since it's a luxury/premium brand. Im glad they finally offer the aspec with the advance but still hate that instrument cluster. Last time I checked this did not lease well like over 600 fully loaded and the Genesis is probably just as bad or worse. It's hard to justify paying almost 700 a month for either of these so I just got a loaded CX-5.
i have a 2018 RDX Base FWD, and is a very solid car! That 3.5 V6 sounds nice specially in sport mode, specially being just FWD. This one 2022 here is Def my Dream Ride! Can You imagine this one with the 3.5 V6 Type S?
I bought a RDX advance the 1st week it was released in June 2019. It aged OK. I always feel it's underpowered and lacking in refinement. I am selling it and moving on to a different manufacturer.
As a car buyer rather than a reviewer that keeps their vehicles for at least ten years, I only go Honda or Toyota because of their long term reliability. Genesis and the others do not compare.
Not really understanding why comparing the engine to Genesis. Chinese makers also design nice cars, and that's all you apparently take to consider a maker, a luxury maker. 🤦 Despite having inefficient (unreliable and badly engineered) engines and cars, I don't really get why the insistence from you to make us think they are a luxury brand 🤢 By the way, dude, try to drive more carefully, especially when you bring someone with you.
because Genesis pays/gives huge incentives to UA-camrs to promote their crappy failures. Casio can make an expensive watch and claim it is a better value than the Rolx or Omega just because Casio has a calculator built-in as well! but that never fools anyone into thinking Casio is a luxury watch like Rolex/Omega. UA-camrs are tasked with promoting the idea that a Korean(!) brand with no heritage, prestige, presence, excellency or brand recognition is a luxury brand in the same league as BMW, MB, Audi, Lexus and Acura. Funny thing is that people younger than 30 actually buy that shit! they make fun of Acura and thing it is not in same league as Germans but would easily compare Genesis with Germans! it is all marketing shit
I think they need about a 70HP electric motor in a plugin hybrid with this engine. Total output would be about 340 hp which would be plenty and give you a >10 mpg boost. Just my thoughts.
Amongst all the luxury car reviews, you guys are the only people talking about the display functionality, audio system, and design with reference to competitors. Lots of videos talks about the headlights, door panels, wheel rim, and seats. I am like finally somebody understand what I want to know! One thing I don't agree is the overhype of horse power. We don't drive at top speed and in CA fuel efficiency trumps over performance as long as SUV is concerned. The real performance comes from the calibration of automatic gear shifting so you get the responsive punch when accelerate. I agree Genesis GV80 is the new benchmark. It waits to be proven to be low-maintainance and high reliability.
The Japanese don't consider competitors - they do their own thing and each have there pros/cons. Idk why there are always BMW/Merc stans everywhere. The Japanese manufacturers have always brought value/reliability first. I like that Acura is bringing Type S back to really show the meaning of Precision Crafted Performance. If ur anyone whose owned Japanese, German or American you'd come to appreciate each car, all of em are on 4-wheels and an engine like any car. Only a select few are truly atrocious, lol.
See Sofyan and Alex? You literally just admitted what I had predicted months ago about the Lexus nx before anyones driven it. The Rdx is way better than the nx350 before and after anyones driven it. You both were wrong 😑. I seriously can’t even believe you both suggested to “gave the nx a chance”…🤦♂️ when after driving the nx, it clearly disappointed sofyan a lot especially the nx350 turbo leaves a lot to be desired The Rdx drives significantly better and performs significantly better than any nx350 turbo just as I predicted before anyones driven it. And cmon Lexus Driving Signature? Really? 🙄 it’s just marketing hype that’s virtually nonexistent The 1 month old nx350 can’t beat a 3 year old dated Rdx. Well done acura.
The target audience for the NX won't care about the driving or performance, they want a small Lexus SUV. It will continue to outsell the superior driving RDX. My wife has a 2018 NX and she's getting the new one when available, she isn't really considering anything else, I tried.
@@joellarrysr9977 well then why do most luxury brands offer handling and performance options? Lexus is doing that in the nx but they really really suck at it… Sure Lexus outsells Acura but you don’t buy a car just because it sells well. You buy a car to drive it
@@entertained... according to rumors from other platforms, the platform being using in the RDX isn’t design to fit the Type-s architecture. So they are completely redesigning.
If you are seriously looking at this vehicle, please read this post plus test drive the vehicle and spend A LOT of time trying to use the Navigation/Radio/Car Play interface. I have owned an Acura RDX since 2011 including a 2021 RDX which has the same tech stack as the 2022. Acura completely ruined their vehicle with their True Touch interface. I am an accomplished technologist with a Masters Degree in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins and this interface is by far the most user interface I have EVER experienced. You end up looking at the touch pad and the screen much more often because the touch pad is not intuitive AT ALL. We have had the car for almost two years and we still have not gotten used to it. Normal human touch interfaces involve dragging your finger across the touchpad to move the cursor. There is no virtual cursor, rather you touch on the remote touchpad in the area corresponding to the icon that you want to select. To make matters worse, this same interface is required to select and control apps using Apple Car Play. You need to use the same interface to even control the radio. Something as simple as controlling the radio has been made drastically more difficult because of the touch pad. I am unaware of ANY other interface that operates like this - it is not a better interface, it is SIGNIFICANTLY worse. Shame on Acura for not providing a touch screen instead of the remote touchpad. It is TERRIBLE and I will not be getting another RDX when my current lease expires.

Superb review as always. I have the 2019 and I love it. The ELS 3D sound system is wicked.
My lease came up last september and i contemplated if i need to switch to the 2022 rdx aspec advance package. In the end, i purchased the lease which im happy with. Agree with the sound syst, i love it.. any issues with your rdx? Had my roof fixed, somehow it got stuck last year and a few minor issues but everything is okay. I love how it runs and everything
Man, I wish they had that trim level option when I got my 2020 rdx advance. Plus, I hope they fixed the brake noise in cold weather. I do like the updates on the inside.
I have a 2020 RDX A-Spec and your right about the breaks. I live in Las Vegas and outside of summer weather the brakes screeching is awfully loud and the dealer still hasn't found a permanent fix.
Not to mention the fake accounts cheering then up and also mentioning Genesis 🤦
I'm not really expecting much from these two.
Smh this channel is too much with trying to shove Genesis down people’s throats.
@@lane5686 indeed, it's extremely obvious already. I wonder how much Hyundai pays them. And i hope that at some point, someone stops accepting being bribed and expose Hyundai. Then we can make these channels close (I don't think this guy can even work at macdonald's).
Thumbs up for another detailed and informative review!...as always!
I have the new TLX and not being able to get advance package options was a pain so hopefully that makes it’s way to the rest of the lineup as well.

The GV70 would be my number one pick in this segment, but this is definitely number two
i think both are great values and really it just depends on which style you like better - euro or japanese, but both are great.
That startup chime 7:11 doesn’t sound like my 2019 RDX.
15:00 - video and sound are completely detached, RPM is at redline while it's quiet and then engine sounds like it's accelerating but the RPMs are dropping.
Where is the TypeS already...I have been wanting that since they said they were working on it for the TLX and the MDX

In this segment I’d look into the Acura RDX and Alfa Romeo Stelvio.

Redline Reviews/Sofyan: I was a little confused.. You mention (Including while on a test drive with Alex on Autos) that it's a Turbo 4.. How is the "Auto Drive" Features on the 2022 model? Does it stay in lane without the ping Pong effect iv noticed on other honda products? I dont want to compare it to the Tesla but how close does it come?
7:12 Is this a new startup chime for 2022 or has it been around for some time? I like it a lot!
That is a new chime. I’m surprised. Usually Sofyan notices that stuff.
The gle power is definitely underrated
The nx has the same power more torque but it’s still slower than the Rdx 😆
The last collaboration, that I can recall, from you two was CRV vs. Rav4 but might have missed one. Thanks for the video Sofyan.
My wife has the 2019 rdx she loves it but I think needs the type S. Our lease is up in 2 months i don’t think my wife will go with acura again..
Are screeching brakes still an issue like the 19,20,21 models?
Good question. 🤔

Not really understanding why comparing the engine to Genesis. Chinese makers also design nice cars, and that's all you apparently take to consider a maker, a luxury maker. 🤦 Despite having inefficient (unreliable and badly engineered) engines and cars, I don't really get why the insistence from you to make us think they are a luxury brand 🤢
By the way, dude, try to drive more carefully, especially when you bring someone with you.
because Genesis pays/gives huge incentives to UA-camrs to promote their crappy failures.
They need a 6 cylinder RDX TYPE S.

Cooled or ventilated seats? Can't get a straight answer on this.
It’s more performed oriented then the genesis and the rx350 right ?
Yet Infiniti and lexus lag interior design and technology 🤔.
Enjoy your reviews. Kelp it up!
So when they mention the gv70 are they referring to the base model or the top trim?
The Japanese don't consider competitors - they do their own thing and each have there pros/cons. Idk why there are always BMW/Merc stans everywhere. The Japanese manufacturers have always brought value/reliability first. I like that Acura is bringing Type S back to really show the meaning of Precision Crafted Performance. If ur anyone whose owned Japanese, German or American you'd come to appreciate each car, all of em are on 4-wheels and an engine like any car. Only a select few are truly atrocious, lol.
Am I the only one who finds the surround of the driving mode selector, the selector, the black control at the bottom to be suggestive?

You both were wrong 😑. I seriously can’t even believe you both suggested to “gave the nx a chance”…🤦♂️ when after driving the nx, it clearly disappointed sofyan a lot especially the nx350 turbo leaves a lot to be desired
The Rdx drives significantly better and performs significantly better than any nx350 turbo just as I predicted before anyones driven it. And cmon Lexus Driving Signature? Really? 🙄 it’s just marketing hype that’s virtually nonexistent
The 1 month old nx350 can’t beat a 3 year old dated Rdx.
Lexus is doing that in the nx but they really really suck at it…

No radio contols on the steering wheel?
