- First things first. Apologies for the lighting, I was filming outside and the sun was setting so the shadows are all over the place. Thank you for watching this. Hopefully, there's some useful information for you in here :)
Balcony in the union is good for a cheap breakfast if you are in uni early, they do a breakfast sandwich and coffee/tea for less than £3

There are 27,000 universities in the world. This year Leeds University is ranked at 86 the QS international tables which brings it within the top one third of one percent of world universities. It is of course a Russell group university. Leeds is also ranked at 52 in the QS world graduate employability rankings.
The top 100 employers in the UK (ie The High Flyers' report which is viewable online) ) publish an annual ranking of the 20 universities whose graduates they favour most. In the real world this counts for quite a lot more than the often baffling and sometimes downright bizarre national rankings that appear in publications like the Times and the Guardian newspapers (Lancaster and Loughborough universities were consistently placed as top ten universities in the Times national rankings???!!! You have got to be kidding!!!).
For 2022 the High Flyers' list places Leeds at number 5 out of 120 UK universities for employment appeal. Cambridge is ranked at number 7 and Oxford is ranked at number 10.
As the biggest centre outside London for banking and legal services Leeds is the wealthiest city in the north of England with upmarket shops, restaurants and cafes. The university has an embracing and safe feeling campus 10 minutes walk from the thriving city centre. On and around the campus there is some lovely architecture and a buzzing social scene.
Of the UK's 120 universities Leeds falls consistently within the top three for the number of applicants. With an impressive international standing for the quality of its research and a first rate social scene Leeds will always be a serious choice for a great many academically gifted undergraduates and postgraduates. Leeds is also one of the most international universities in the world.
this video was so helpful! also unrelated but you are so gorgeous! x
Aww thanks, that's so sweet of you to say! Glad the video was helpful!
Hi, I’m starting at leeds in 2021, and was wondering what the best accommodations are if I want an ensuite with a decent social life? A lot of people have said central village for this but I’ve seen lots of reviews saying it’s antisocial, I’ve also looked at montague burton because I can give up the ensuite idea pretty easily and it seems amazing value for money/good location. Which ensuite accommodation would you say are best for what I’m looking for though? Thank you so so much, this video is super useful :)
Hey! I didn't manage to visit them all but I would say that I would prioritise being close to uni rather than an en-suite. I was in Montague Burton and loved it! (I was in a flat of 9 and we all got on). Like you said though, it was shared bathroom 1 to 3. I would agree with what people said about Central Village - it's close to uni and probably has better facilities than Monty B but I have heard that it's not that social. The thing is, it really depends on your flat - you could have a good time anywhere as long as your flatmates are nice which is unfortunately out of your control! People say that James Bailey is really sociable but it's a little further out. I would say avoid oxley and Liberty Dock because they're really far out! I personally also preferred the accommodations that were off campus, because you didn't feel like you were in uni all the time. I think Monty B offers the best of everything, but I'm probably biased because that's where I was. I hope this was useful :)
Join a society for being social, live in a nice place with en suiete be happy, live in Hyde park for the full university experience
Could you do a video on Leeds uni accommodation please. 🤍
Coming soon hopefully!!
It's finally up!
Hi, this was a very useful video. Couple questions- Would you suggest I go for an all girls accommodation or should I pick a mixed gender one? Can’t really choose. Also, I’m unable to fixate on an accommodation as there are so many. I’m looking for en-suite and self catered and something which is social. Looked at Charles and Henry price but heard they are usually oversubscribed but I would prefer one of the two. Do you have any recommendations too, thank you!!
I can't really choose for you, but if it helps I went for mixed and really enjoyed it! In terms of the Charles Morris v Henry Price, yes both often oversubscribed, but you might as well try for the one you prefer, as you never know!
So useful thank you so much :))
Yay glad you enjoyed it!
This is so helpful!!!! Thank you !!
You're welcome!
Hi! I'm starting at Leeds in 2022 as a International post graduate student.I nave been admitted at Leeds school of business .Which accommodation is ideal for a new post grad student.
Hi! I’m also starting at Leeds in 2022 as an international postgraduate student! I applied for Blenheim point and really looked into private accommodation but I got an offer for Leodis Residences and was told my flatmate’s are postgraduate students so far so I think I’m going to accept the offer :)
Do they provide an international arrival support at the uni? Hopefully flying this September for undergrad
Hello! I'm pretty sure there's an International Welcome Week usually the week before freshers week where you can meet other international students - hopefully you'll hear something about that soon!
thank you so much for this video!
You’re welcome!
Hello , nice video ... my only worry is that I’m of Asian origin and from all the clips and stuff I’ve heard about Leeds is that it’s very very white ethnicity dominated .... will I be frowned upon because I’m Asian or is there a good mix of races ? Thanks
Hey, that's a valid concern! The university is mostly white (80%) but there are Asians at the university - I've linked the student breakdown from 2019/20 here so you can have a look. equality.leeds.ac.uk/wp-content/uploads/sites/64/2020/01/Registered-Student-Breakdown-2019-20.pdf.
As a black person, I wasn't frowned upon so I would hope that this goes across the board. I hope this helps, thanks for watching the video!
Big up my LS6 gang
This has made me miss Leeds so much 😢
What would you say the best first year accommodation is? (:
Honestly it really depends on what you're looking for! I would recommend Montague Burton , because it's really close to uni and not too expensive, but it's shared bathroom, and some people really want an ensuite, so it really depends! What are your priorities?
@@lolade840 probably like near to campus, en-suite and fairly social (not too intense though haha)
@@lydiaking3440 I'd probably say somewhere like Central Village then :)
@@lolade840 okay thank you (: x
Hello I know it’s late but I just wanted to know how diverse the university is , I’m scared of dealing with racism or being the only black student in my class
Hey, valid question! It's not the most diverse uni in the UK for sure, but there are black people. You're unlikely to be the only black student on your course, but the amount will likely differ depending on what course you take (as you can imagine, there are a lot more in medicine/law/engineering than say history) - hope this helps!
@@lolade840 thank you so much , it does help a lot
My IELTS score is 7 and my gpa is 7.5 out of 10 in bcom... I'm from India. .. Will I get admission in masters of finance course in the sep 2022 intake in this uni!!
Hi Shreya, first of all I hope that you and all your family are staying safe and are all okay in India!
As for your question, I don't know anything about IELTS as I was a home student, sorry! Good luck though, I would still apply!
your name is so prettyyy
Heyyy, I’m also looking to study accounting and finance. Any advice for a good personal statement for accounting and finance?
That's exciting! It's difficult because it's been about 5 years since I wrote mine! Try and sound enthusiastic and not too generic, like don't just say I like maths/numbers etc. Sorry I can't be more help!
@@lolade840 Thanks you!! And don't worry I appreciate the advice ;)
@@ashleypeace7979 did you get in? Can you tell me how the course is? I plan on studying the same thing and what were your entry requirements please 🙏🏾
I did get in but decided to go Warwick instead. I too can’t remember but I know the requirements were triple A. All the best x
Hi, do you mind me asking what you studied?
Hey, I did Accounting and Finance :)
@@lolade840 Lol, that's what I'm studying as well! Did you get a 2:1? Were 2nd and 3rd year hard?
@@h.7537 I actually got a first :) and yes - very hard aha
@@lolade840 Wow, well done. How hard is very hard? Am I screwed?
@@h.7537 Thanks! And no, definitely, there's a lot of support at the university, you just need to be organised :)
potato stacks
yum!
Would you say there’s a good amount of black people at leeds ?
Hey, here's the link to the breakdown equality.leeds.ac.uk/wp-content/uploads/sites/64/2020/01/Registered-Student-Breakdown-2019-20.pdf
I'd say that it's not that diverse but you'll definitely make black friends
@@lolade840 Thank you
How many black people are there ?
do you perhaps have a recommendation for international students in terms of accommodation?
Hey I'm gonna do a video all about accommodation so stay tuned for that! But there were a lot of int'l students in Montague Burton, where I was and I enjoyed it there!
@@lolade840is it cheap?
What accommodation has the highest number of blacks?
Hi, I'm actually not sure, I think we were quite widely dispersed
@@lolade840 Thanks, do you often experience racism among your housemates?
@@Chranalyse Nope, I've been blessed in that sense - though I don't think I'd continue live with them if they were haha
@@lolade840 Thanks, I’m hoping to study Business there this year.
