God this girl put so much thought into her choice! I went to Leeds back in 2011 and just chose the first place which was affordable and didn't look like shit! hahah. Each to their own. Monty B for life
Well yh obviously, u lot were paying like £90 a week for ur accom - same accom now would cost around £130. At that price, you should put a little forethought.
For the Dental School, Clarence was just about the furthest away you could have possibly chosen - wish they'd advised you better. I suspect it's because it's the "showpiece" accom (ie. the newest). Charlie Mo would have been a better choice for distance (walked or biked) but it's among the oldest. That's where I stayed in 1st year, but for Engineering, it was a relatively short walk (through the Union - grab that fried egg & sausage sandwich on the run).
Charles Morris is a party house. People party all night and are very noisy. It's alright if it is for you but choose Devenshire Hall if you want some peace and quiet.
What app are you using to check the distances from your department? Because I wasn’t able to find my dept on google maps 😭 Very informative video tho, thanks!!
There are 27,000 universities in the world. This year Leeds University is ranked at 86 the QS international tables which brings it within the top one third of one percent of world universities.. It is of course a Russell group university. The top 100 employers in the UK (ie The High Flyers' report which is viewable online) ) publish an annual ranking of the 20 universities whose graduates they favour most. In the real world this counts for quite a lot more than the often baffling and sometimes downright bizarre national rankings that appear in publications like the Times and the Guardian (Lancaster and Loughborough universities were consistently placed as top ten universities in the Times national rankings???!!! You have got to be kidding!!!). For 2022 the High Flyers' list places Leeds at number 5. Cambridge is ranked at number 7 and Oxford is ranked at number 10. Leeds is the wealthiest city in the north of England with upmarket shops, restaurants and cafes. The university has an embracing and safe feeling campus 10 minutes walk from the thriving city centre. On and around the campus there is some lovely architecture and a buzzing social scene. Of the UK's 120 universities Leeds falls consistently within the top three for the number of applicants. With an impressive international standing for the quality of its research and a first rate social scene Leeds will always be a serious choice for a great many academically gifted undergraduates and postgraduates.
dead true on the part of hilly it's better using bicycle in london not leeds at all i have personally seen that. the docks great place but not convenient for accessing certain campus
From what I can remember 5 years ago when I was applying there wasn’t an option but they may have added it now! If not you should email the admissions team and they will direct you in the right place 🥰
Hey! It depends what you want from your accommodation. Any accommodation you get I think you’ll enjoy but if being close to the law school is the most important thing then I would suggest Henry price. Plus Henry price is great! Close to a lot of things like town and campus and of course very close to the law school! If I’m not wrong with henry price they have single beds and you may have to share a bathroom with one person but again it depends on what you want the most from your accommodation. Although you have to share a bathroom it’s still very private. I hope that helps Xxxx
Hey! So there are a few locations where it’s mainly all students: Hyde park, Hyde Terrace or Headingley. Hyde terrace is basically on campus, and usually dentists live there, Hyde park is very common within all students at the uni of Leeds, a little further from campus averaging a 10-20 min walk to uni depending on which side of Hyde park you end up in. But a very common area (probably the most common area to stay) I personally haven’t lived here just because of the distance to uni but lots of dentists and other uni students love it! Headingley is a bit too far out about a 30 min walk to uni so can suit those who aren’t in uni all the time, not many dentists or medics end up there. Xxx
Yesss! They’re not too bad but in first year you get a discounted membership to the Edge which is the huge gym on campus and most get that too! They’ve got lots of classes and a pool etc
It’s usual to move into private accommodation with friends after the first year but if you wanted to stay in halls you can live for free if you subwarden which basically means you’re there to help any of the first years out if they need it 😋
@@elenashahir4846 Woah! thank you so much for your reply. Since, I will be an international student with a loan it would be really helpful for me. Do you mind telling me anything more about this like how can I get that and will it be easy to get?

Leeds Uni is the best one in the country, make sure to live in Hyde park for the legit uni of Leeds experience

Amazing!! Yeah you’ll be in the Worsley building with the dentists 😋
