Thank you so much for your Thumbaround and Thumbaround Reverse Tutorials. I was able to learn the first in 15 minutes and after a long 1 hour of practice, I am now able to do both in conjunction!! Very clear tutorials :)
@@Ryan-br6ic oh yeah I totally agree. I commented this before I could make it spin but once I finally got it to spin I couldn't catch it for the life of me
I've been doing the thumbaround for years. I've been practicing the reverse for the last week since watching this video and now I'm able to do it. I'm going to need more practice to be able to land it consistently and land the harmonic, but I'll get there soon enough. Thanks!
Welcome back! Your tutorials where really helpful when I started spinning. Seeing them remastered brings back memories. I am sure it will be helpful for newer spinners.
Great to see your Only using a RSVP, something almost everyone should be able to get. please continue to remaster everything you can with that pen choice.
Gedion Kinaadman he’s not insulting the video, he’s saying that you shouldn’t watch these videos when you need to be studying because they’re addicting. You fucking moron
dude the best feeling in the world is when you figure it out for the first time and everything just clicks in ur head. like when u finish ur first thumbaround reverse you can just easily repeat it over and over
The moment you said I should "pull the trigger", I acidentally got it and it landed in 3-4. I still can't do it consistently though. The problem is that the pen is hitting that huge bone before the thumb. Edit: It's not hitting it anymore but I still can't catch it after the spin
For me the hardest part was to get it in the right slot. I kept catching the pen either between the pinky and the ring finger or using my whole hand to catch it.
I think that there are two obstacles when learning this. You need to learn how to tuck your index and middle finger while the pen spins so it doesn't interfere. Secondly, I think some people will wrongly make their thumb point parallel to the table which can let the pen fly away. Having it tilt upwards a bit helps the pivoting stay on track.
Your video's work soooooooooooooo well for me...... I learnt spinning the pen half way through the video and learnt to catch it afterwards.... Thanks MAN
When I want to do it, I always stuck my pen against my thumb when I try. It sucks. And it's hard to do. but I already know the thumbaround ! Yeah ! :) If my pen gets stuck, it's because my index ends up above the pen, so it pushes it downward and stuck it against the thumb, or it's because I don't have a good position.
To all those whose pen hits the raised part of the thumb, or refuses to spin, Try to get it to spin over your nail as the axis. The thumb should be a bit raised upwards. Worked for me. No longer hits anything.
Yes I agree with @Adam, I’m having troubles catching it. I’m fine with the spinning, I’m able to do a good, smooth, 360° spin but I can’t seem to catch the pen. Any suggestions?
for some reason right after i push off with my middle finger to do the normal thumbaround my thumb goes down and the pen goes over my thumb and then flies across the room. Do you know how I can stop my thumb from doing that?
Has anyone successfully used their index fingernail to pop the pen into a spin? Like after I do the finger brush, my pen gets stuck in between my index and my thumb, but if I apply force, it pops into a spin. Haven’t master catching it yet, and it’s not the same way he taught but it’s kind of a reverse TA
Tried this about a year ago, gave up, and I'm trying it again now, and can still do the rotation just fine, it's the catching that I still can't figure out.
Anyone has tips on how to properly catch with the Middle Finger? I struggling with doing that "slot" in between your Middle and Ring Fingers to catch the pen. My Mid Finger can't move idk why :/
Do your best to practice pushing the pen as best as you can, so it goes on top of the middle finger or at least around it. And when you catch, be sure to extend the finger(s) that you're going to catch it with. (e.g. extending the index finger outwards and bring it back in for the catch.) Try observing the catch when you do a regular TA(Thumbaround), it should look a bit similar but backwards.
Just try doing this without the pen Just try the flick and catch is hand I did the same thing And now I have made big streaks of continuous rev thumb around
I know this is an old video, but I just wanted to say that it's definitely much easier to do this with a pen mod/particularly longer pen, at least in my experience. To be able to actually do it with a pen as shown here will most likely much, much more practice which is probably not what most people here may be looking for.
@@SoapMcCallister i know i’m 7 months late, but you can just get a pen mod that looks similar to a normal pen (rsvp, toro mx) or just get a writable pen mod (finger dance, some metal comssas)
