This is my dream concert you never stop feeling you never stop loving the show this is so beautiful thank you so much for putting this on the Internet thank you so much
I have never felt so alive and so good thank you so much I really needed this I’m 59 I feel like I’m coming back to life I can’t stop dancing and singing thank you so much
Not only the music classy but also the performers. They came on dressed to the nines with nice dance routines to complement the voices and music. They never looked like they just finished playing a sandlot softball game . They respected their audience aand the audience respected them back.
I enjoyed listening to these gentlemen from my Mom & Dad's generation. Art & love for the craft come first (cream gets the $) They can't get past their non talented egos to abandon that "me first" attitude
I have a watch and listen to this at least 10 times and it’s still not enough thank you so much thank you thank you thank you I so needed this I hope I can still see some legends before we all die thank you so much
I could not pick who was my favorites ~ the Tops or Temps ~ I settled on Temptations, I thought the Tops were old men. Eddie Kendricks was my favorite, so after a while lost interest in the Temps new songs. I still have LPs from both groups, that I listen to sometimes.
I so wish I was there that would’ve been I would’ve never had to went to another concert again I so hope and pray I get to live this moment out before I die and of course I’m gonna teach my grandchildren about music and faith in love thank you so much for this this is what musics all about this is why we pay money to go to concerts and I bet this concert was so cheap
Such icons!!! Our last top departed today , rest in power to all four tops ❤❤❤❤❤ ! Seeing Melvin and Levi having a playful moment at 5:17 is so warming 💕 LEGENDS FOREVER
In my younger days, The Temptations, because of Melvin Franklin, and The Four Tops, because of Levie Stubbs, were my favorite Motown acts, and The Temps are still close to my full favorites, with The Tops being full co-favorites, with another group, because of Levie and the whole, original, Four Tops group, remaining loyal to each other for their whole individual careers, and parted only with death. That is still, truly, a rare wonder, on this old planet.
I grew up an army brat and their was a stratum done by mimir and they played this music. It's still my favorite today. If I'm grabbing a down day, this is my Pandora station
My wife and I saw this show in 1985 in Austin, Texas but with a different line up: 4 Tops. Temptations. Johnny Rivers. Steppenwolf among other local bands. Great concert. RIP Levi Stubbs and many others of these bands who have passed on in these 39 years.
@@NathanAHogan And HE put the TEMPTATIONS firmly on the map. He's an ORIGINAL GREAT TALENT that will ALWAYS be an ORIGINAL member of the FAB FIVE for me. I'm just SAYING. Most people only learned about AL through the movie.
@@rashidashabazz7319He didn't put them on map ,he help put them on the map he came in the group at the perfect time when smokey was really becoming theirs main writer an producer, The way you do the things you do " would've still have been a hit whit out him in the group, so he didn't make them he just came in the group at the perfect time
All of these old groups were great. It's kind of sad that The Drifters, The Manhattans, and The Cadillacs didn't rate as much time as the Tops and Temps. I guess that's how it is, but I thought "Under The Boardwalk" made it as big as most of the Temps' and Tops' songs. I know when I was a kid, you couldn't turn a radio on without hearing it played, for several weeks, seemed like months.
Drifters were before Motown. They were, still are my favorite group. A lot of their songs were written by Carol King who was only 16 at the time; Up on the roof, some kind of wonderful. She also wrote, Natural Woman, by Aretha. And many more. I also loved; Under the board walk.
@@jeannetteramsey8347 They did, but they didn't appear, to me, to last quite as long. I could be wrong, but I don't think they had quite as many big hits. Doesn't really matter to me. The Drifters were great and, for a while, were icons. They were the only R&B group I got to see live. I won't forget it.
I had the pleasure and privilege to see all of these groups except the Cadillacs (a few times for the Temps and Tops). No autotune. These gentlemen could sing - all of them. I do feel sad that the Cadillacs, in particular, do not get the recognition that they deserve. The fact that Speedo (Earl Carroll) had to work as a janitor for over 20 years (even when doing this show) is a disgrace while far lesser "talents" of the day made millions. It's sad that it took a book about him for school kids is what helped get him back, and he eventually did the oldies circuit after retiring from the school system.
Last week here in Palm Beach - FL, I went to see The Temptations and The Four Tops. I thought would be a show like this one here, singing together and battling. They didn't but still, was an amazing show.
My sister dragged me to a Drifter's concert at a hotel ~ after the first show, they let us in for the second show for free, because there was not enough of a crowd. She wanted to give one of the guy's a hug; he said "Not now sweetie, I am all sweaty." When I told him, 'thank you for coming to work tonight," he gave me a kiss on the cheek. She was livid. I loved the Drifters, by but that time, I had moved on to groups like O'Jays, EWF, B.B. KIng; others. So I did not remember the Drifter's name she wanted to hug.
