Living In A Luxury Tiny Home On Wheels For $725 A Month | Unlocked
Mean people! Be nicer! You can tell she lost a LOT from the divorce. She made a mistake with the Craigslist person at 45K and the other builder essentially charged her full price of a new tiny to finish everything and they didn't fix the water problem and they should have. Trust me, divorce and loss of lifestyle is not fun as a single parent with kids. I'm glad she is happy. She is making the best of a tough situation. Good Luck!
If choosing to live in a tiny home is a “tough choice “ for some then that’s fair enough but I’ve been homeless before and I don’t want children so I’d be happy to own a tiny home rather than a “normal” home…. It’s like saying “normal” people…
The title is misleading. A $90k loan over 15 years would be $500/mo payment and that's interest-free! It's disingenuous to exclude the loan from her monthly housing/rent payment. If there's no loan repayment plan then the $90k was a gift. I think the negative comments are more directed at the intentional misdirection than the lady who is clearly happy and doing her best.
She probably would have done better moving to Mexico or Thailand.
@@lineage13 its crazy how casually we accept that people are force to leave their country just to have a decent life.
@@FranFranny ye must be nice to have friends who can just loan you 90k
We are truly living in a dystopia where it is cheaper to build a tiny house, set up utilities, and rent land than buy a small apartment in a city
Tiny homes were 40-50k not long ago and now ppl are spending up to 300k on them.
YES WHAT HAPPENED TO THE PRICES
@EZENS.
Your looking at the wrong builders, not all are ridiculously priced.
not a comment about her (tho someone clearly took advantage of her) people with no concept of negotiating, costs, researching, etc have been driving the cost of a built tiny home thru the roof with marketing words to make you swoon.... luxury, high end, etc. anything to make people mentally open their wallet. the focus really needs to be changing regulations to permit tiny homes everywhere foundation homes are permitted. housing is housing!
This exact home on mitchcraft is listed for “starting at 209,000”
Jenn's story is truly remarkable and serves as a profound source of inspiration. The sincerity in her voice as she shares her journey through divorce, grappling with the urgent need to establish security for herself and her family, is palpable. What she has accomplished in the face of adversity is nothing short of extraordinary, a testament to her resilience and resourcefulness. From the depths of her experience, Jenn has crafted a beautiful outcome that speaks to the human capacity for growth and transformation.
My gosh, loved her honesty, courage & most important her beautiful new home! The thought that she can take that home wherever she wants when and if she's ready just amazes me. Very happy for her. 🙂👍👍👍
What truly blows my mind is that God gave us the earth for free and mankind has managed to charge for everything. Beautiful home. But it always surprises me to find out how much these lovely tiny homes cost. The whole concept of Tiny homes is supposed to be affordable living.
As a single mom with a son. I understand how hard it is and I think her place is amazing. I hope they will have more of great things come to their life!! ✨✨
Her son is 20… lol hardly a single moms
She has a daughter too 😂
Her home is so warm and inviting. I’m glad it worked out well for her and her family. 💞
Awhile ago I saw a tour of your tiny online. Your home is stunning! I live on the Oregon Coast in my tiny house at Tiny Tranquility Park. We rarely get sub-freezing temperatures in the winter, but this winter we've had a handful of nights below freezing, so I swapped out my original unheated hose for a heated one from CAMCO, a 12 ft. long model (they offer other sizes) with water line freeze protection down to -40°F. The hose comes with two ~8-inch long insulating rubber sleeves to slide over each end of the hose. It works great. Wishing you much happiness in your tiny.🥰

Do your research and reach out to the UA-cam community because there's have many many people have had issues that you are dealing with with leak, & or roofing issues or whatever comes up next,.
Lots of things people don't realize that where you live, how and what direction your home is pointing, will so determine and effect so many issues you will encounter.
So ask & research before you move again,
Others have eventually found solutions all of those and many other issues.

Sure, it seems a bit pricy, but it is also so pleasing to the eye and her and her kids seem to have found joy from it so go them! Plus, it's brand new, the kids are older so it'll likely last longer, and I'm sure her new bae will love it too when he comes into the picture. I am both inspired and motivated by this woman!
the headline is like saying, drive a ferrari for only $150 a month*

But that’s because she doesn’t own the land it’s on right….

After selling a couple homes in 2022, I'm anticipating a housing crisis in order to buy inexpensively. As a backup plan, I've been thinking about purchasing stocks. What recommendations do you have for the best time to buy? On the one hand, I keep reading and seeing trader earnings of over $500k each week. On the other side, I keep hearing that the market is out of control and experiencing a dead cat bounce. Any Advice?
Heard many good recommendations about Rochelle Dungca-Schreiber by some YT channels, Seminars and other platforms.-
don't buy stocks in a crappy economy unless you really understand the market. If we are heading toward a 1929 situation, you do not want to be in stocks. But if you have good advice--perhaps you can do it. This type of stock economy--you can get rich or lose everything. Upheaval causes volatility.
There will be no housing price crash, ppl r only gonna rent from now on, they're only building new apartments for rent in the future.
I had no idea Boulder CO was so expensive. I just looked it up and it's more expensive than many parts of LA.
Within Boulder's limits, you can pay 1M for a not that impressive house. And the immediate area around it is better, but not as much as you think.
Absolutely LOVED this and her story! Much happiness and love to you and your family 💝
Pretty incredible result for the money. I'm glad that she mentioned her challenges as well. The first builder she bought the home from disappearing on her, the issues with her water/plumbing which then begs the question, is this something that was not done properly by the second builder, and, before any of that, not being able to get a bank loan thereby needing to rely on a friend for the money. What if this friend did not exist, then what? That's why it's always important to check your finances first as well as check with a lender to see what you'd qualify for before beginning any kind of home purchase. Often these videos make everything seem so rosy and simple. So I'm glad she was honest. Good for her. She turned out to be very resilient but also had a little luck on her side. I wish her well.
Her story is so beautiful 😭and she seems so kind, I'm crying
Beautiful home and very inspiring!!! Great job 👏🏾
“Received $90k loan from a friend…” I need some rich friends lol 😂
Beautiful home. She loves it and works for her. Go girl!
She clearly a old woman.
I’m so happy for you. I’m sure you are inspiring so many people. God bless you!
Very creative! I loved touring it! Sending you and your children love, light and positive energy! ✨✨☺️✨✨
I saw a different tour of her house online. It’s STUNNING 🤩 by far my favorite tiny house design. I love it. She has a high quality home for s fraction of the price I. Her area ! So much better than an apartment.
I love it and I was a single parent too and I thank God my kids are resilient. Thanks to good grades in school they had their scholarships to college and we now have a teacher and a construction mgr in the family. I would love to get into one of these eventually since they are now grown, married, starting families and own their own homes ❤️ you are right it’s never too late 🥰 it’s beautiful!
I am amazed how you came through this. Thank you for being so open concerning everything that happen to you. I have thought about a tiny house myself and your story is a guideline or better yet a Bible (meaning so much truth). I really appreciate your story. ❤❤❤
“It’s a horse troth” 😂😂😂 love it!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much for sharing your tiny home! This is exactly what I was looking for on utube! You’ve given me lots of great info. And I love your tiny home also. Best investment. 👏
A friend loaned her $90K!?!?! Can she introduce us to her friends please!
"Small loan of a million dollars" 😆

175k for this is insane, imho.
But the owner is happy and it's the most important. Wish her all the best
You buy a cheap block of land first then the tiny home or granny flat
6:34 She brews coffee the traditional Costa Rican way I love it 🇨🇷
Love the design and imagination of spaces. Hope you get the water issues sorted. Sounds like a wonderful new journey!
THIS WOMAN TOUCHES MY HEART . I LIKE HER. MOST BEAUTIFUL TINY HOUSE IVE SEEN SO FAR
Totally love her vibe! I’m feeling it!
This is so beautiful ❤ So much of her life back, I can only imagine 🙏
Absolutely love this! As a miminalist, I can work from anywhere so this would work. You have a beautiful vibe going on, and the interior is so nice!
Have two ideas to solve the water pipe issue during cold weather. 1 - Add insulations around the pipe and the space. 2 - Wrap low wattage heating wires around the pipes exposed to the element.
USE PEX PIPES they do not freeze.
Love your story and of course your "tiny" which looks huge. I really love the kitchen area. Well done. When you get ready to check out Oregon, we have a spot for you in wine country outside Eugene. 🙂
I would love her floorplan! I need to build one myself and in LOVE 😍with the kitchen! Good for you Jenn! Hope you stay happy with your new life! 🥰
Wow amazingly chic contemporary decor! Love the idea! 👏🏼👏🏼🙌🏼🤎🤍
Being that I'm a graduate of CU-Boulder and lived there years ago, I can tell that A LOT commenters have NO idea of the cost to live there! Heck, even HGTV's House Hunters had to acknowledge that cost of housing out there. Nice tiny house and lot rent at a cheaper prices than the current regular Boulder SFH prices. BK
Exactly! Most people are comparing where she is at to the middle of nowhere in Texas 🤦🏻♀️ She is getting a great deal for the location she is at.
I’m happy she’s happy.
absolutely LOVE this tiny home 😍
Congratulations To A Beautiful Home.
So Happy For You On Your New Journey.
She is my inspiration. God bless her!!!💝🕊
She got ripped off she almost paid 200k to live in a box, you find a house and a plot of land in this country with that money,
Beautiful home! Well done!
Love this inspiring story of getting a fresh start in a high cost of living area
Amazing video, such a unique perspective of home!
Wow! The prices of Tiny Homes has really gone up. We bought one in 2017 for $55k.
It’s charming, beautiful and perfect. Divorce is hard enough and now she has stability and can bring her HOME with her. Best of luck in the future❤❤❤
Love this! ❤
Great job! It's amazing how small spaces can be creatively designed to be so functional! I can relate as I converted my 10x20 foot garage into a tiny house! I made a video about it to inspire others!
I remember seeing her home on another channel and loved it then and still love it now! I hope she sued the pants off the Craigslist guy.
175k for a mobile home. Great work.
Beautiful home. I love the design. It's worth every penny.
BRAVO, good for her and her kids!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Kudos to her, very tidy, well groomed, and exceptionally beautiful 😻
Off the bat this title is a lie. It's $725/month PLUS the $175000 to build it, which is INSANE. You can get a house WITH LAND or a condo for less than $100000 in many parts of the country. & she admits she has trouble getting RUNNING WATER...FOR $175000 PLUS PERPETUAL RENT COST...NO RUNNING WATER! Fully deluded. Huge mistake. & oh yeah, these things have zero resale value.
Her life and family are in Boulder County where property values for a 2± bed are near the millions. If you can get access to land and have the upfront capital it is always cheaper to build your own home.
No one wants to live in those places
Very misleading
There is nowhere in Colorado to get a home at that cost. Only way she's getting a home for $175k in this economy is to move to the middle of nowhere and be isolated from her family.
People are defending her because she was in a tough spot with her divorce. We understand that her divorce pressured her to find a place to live quickly on a budget, but that only explains the insane 175k.
I love it!!!
Wow this is amazing!
Jen has a very nice friend to borrow 90K from.
Greetings from the other side of the world. Your video inspired us to do something similar in another country, another continent....hopefully with the same amazing result.
This most be so comfy during a rainstorm
Really great friend to loan her $90,000
That's the only highlight of the story
The developers made really good use of the space! Doesn’t seem crowded. I really like her home
I agree with lots of other commenters $175k to build +$750 rent seems high. But I bet this is still a huge step down from what she had.
Especially because the headline is living in a tiny home for $725 a month, with no loan repayment factored in. It's a beautiful home for sure, but $200k for 340 sf home (that depreciates, so it's not an asset) is pretty high.
$750 rent is pocket change in comparison to most major city rents across the country. That's less than a bargain. I know people who pay more just to rent property land for a trailer house.
Good for you Jen !
Her history is amazing
Looks awesome actually
Awesome!!!
This home if Stunning..
Wao,that's great ,love your home
Freedom is priceless. She has learned that. 💝
Amazing design.
It really is a beautiful tiny house but $175k. At the end of the day it's classified like a car so a depreciating asset. I used to think $90k was a lot for tiny houses.
It is lol
Thank you for the encouragement. I need it :(
So even when you build or buy your own house you still have to pay rent. 🤨
To park it in someone's backyard yeah
She should look into buying some land, but looking at Boulder Co. rental prices I'd rather pay $725 a month than $2000-3000 towards someone else's mortgage.
Very confusing
Yes because she doesn't own the land she is parked on, if she owned land then it would be all hers, I think land is more important than just a building.
Jen get trace heating. That will stop your pipes from freezing in the winter.
You Got the right idea. Super Genius.
Lovely 🏡!
175k is not expensive. Think for a second before reacting!
An average sized house with an equal level of detail, cabinetry, in every corner and on every wall would cost at least $300-400/sqft to build. This house includes the main expensive items: a bathroom, kitchen, and millwork; It's just packed more densely. One can easily imagine spreading all that expensive detail across a 1500sqft home, and still be luxurious.
Look I'm happy for her but a 175,000 dollars you can build a very nice home anywhere for that if you spend $175 on a single-family home in a normal run-of-the-mill neighborhood you could sell it for $300,000 easily I have friends of the family that just built a home on 20 acres in upper Michigan on the Manistee River it's so beautiful it's breathtaking and they'd spent 120 on the entire building cluding the perking the land for septic. And it's a beautiful glass front A-frame log cabin with everything and it's not small by any means. I think 175,000 is absurd. Yes I'm happy for her and if I could meet her I would gladly move in with her she's gorgeous LOL wow I can't believe I let that slip but no 170 $5,000 and then to have a $750 monthly bill on top of it too much
175k on a depreciating trailer is TERRIBLE!!!
A regular home at $300-400/sqft is still far less than the nearly $515 she paid.
@@ClownWhisper you absolutely could not “build a very nice home anywhere” for that price, especially not Boulder. Apples to oranges trying to compare building a home in Boulder, where land alone is MINIMUM $1 mil, to building one in Manistee Michigan
175k is not expensive if you are rich. But for someone with an average income, 175k is expensive, especially for a 1-person house on wheels.
Tiny houses are cool, but the whole point is that they are affordable for people with lower income.
This tiny house is so cool
You get what you pay for in life, she didn’t cheap out while building, this is obvious by the beautiful interior
It’s more than $725/month all totaled up. It’s $725 for lot rent and utilities plus whatever the mortgage payment is.
Mobile homes are cheaper and you get a whole house. But that's "trashy" I guess.... rich people are such a confusing bunch.
Congratularions🎉 she made a decision and stuck by it. Possibly cheaper then renting, at least she owns the asset and can rent it out or move it to her own backyard when she buys a larger house.
God bless her 😍
😂 How do I find a friend who's in that tax bracket 😂
You are an amazingly inspiring young woman and mother. SUGGESTION: Perhaps your builder, using your approved design, could build this tiny house for other consumers. I am definitely interested - unfortunately, I live in SC and options in this area are slip.
I’m also in SC but right under Charlotte sometimes i see them on Facebook market place
Google Utopian Villas
Wow. $175k is way overpriced ! She could of got it for $50k and im jealous she has a friend that lend her $90k ! wow
Very basic tiny houses go for 50 grand now.
@@crucialtaunt5717 really? Then what is the point of a tiny house if it is that expensive?
@@Whackpacky Because they are still more affordable and attainable than traditional and single family homes.
If you actually watched the whole video, she got scammed that cost $45k, so her fix cost about 130k which is reasonably current cost
@@Whackpacky Tiny houses have gotten overpriced. But they also added more luxuries. Honestly, except for the stigma, it's cheaper to get a used RV. Cheaper, more room, easier to get quickly. Used RVs often have low-resell value so you can get them cheaper. They can be moved around and often have more living space. But people are more negative about RVS. But even places that allow tiny houses don't always allow RVS as they don't fit the 'look' of the community or there is zoning against it.
Small by American standards but for the rest of the world that house is huge but I don't mean it wrong. Is beautiful and I would love to have one like that
its cool she did this but arguing that it is "affordable" is misleading. for instance, no one I know
can give me a loan of 90K. If you do not already own a home you can't split the cost of the sale with your husband... most Americans COULD not afford this.
What a beautiful home 😍
You could have built a house in any normal neighborhood for what you paid for building that out. I mean you could have built a very nice log cabin kit home Ali private piece of property for that amount of money. A friend of mine bought acreage on a little river in the middle of nowhere upper Michigan built a beautiful A-frame log cabin it's like a storybook village and they paid about 120 including perking the septic. They're only monthly cost is taxes and internet in Texas on sold state land is absolutely nothing out there
Keyword is Texas in the middle of nowhere. Not everyone wants to live in the middle of nowhere specially in Texas. She lives in one of the most desirable and beautiful places in the country and she has every modern convenience close by.
Confused. How did we go from Michigan A-frame to Texas internet?
Indeed. That fact that Winters are brutal & water hoses freezing etc. Not worth the time & money.
@@SaintsandSushi You can still find affordable housing & have convience, just not in popular places. It's common sense it's going to cost a price.
Praise God she's happy and enjoying life...
It’s actually bigger than my Manhattan apartment! However, ultimately it seems pretty ridiculous to put so much money into a depreciating asset that you still have to pay rent on the land for.
On the other hand.... It becomes a math calculation for many. Pumping money today into a mortgage, with current rates, years of interest payments, and in a single-family housing market mostly in decline, at 51 this lady probably did the right thing for herself. As an 'asset', you're correct, will probably never appreciate. So like a car, that type of home is a 'tool', and that's how it should be seen. There are many other categories of asset investments available that, at this stage in her life, she can indeed explore and choose from. (Words from a Gen-X person.)
It’s on the same level as someone paying thousands of $$ monthly on something they will never own.
Let’s be realistic , even if she owned the land, she would still have to pay property taxes. 🙄🤷🏾♀️
So if she is paying for renting the lot, it’s the same equivalent of paying property taxes, which by the way increases , also utilities and property upkeep. No matter what you own, there will always be some type of expense you would need to pay for owning that residence.’ It sounds like Colorado is expensive to own property, so I’m sure the property taxes are also high to pay too. I live in New York (Long Island suburbs) & property taxes can range from $6,000 (school & general taxes) to $20,000 and up depending on the community. As long as you live in this world you will be paying for some type of expenses to survive and make ends meet.
@@vetgirl71yep and some people have HOA fees on top of that.
Awww yay! God is faithful.❤
She resembles the actress that played the first Lady in Scandal. Very nice. I wish her continued success with her endeavors. Tfs
Bellamy Young! I couldn't put a finger on who she looked like. You're so right.
@@nellychildish Mellie/ Bellamy! The eyes and teeth, I can see it a little, but probably a bit more if they had the same hairstyle.
At 10 feet wide you're not really going anywhere with that house on wheels. It's oversized and requires permits and pre-planning to move.
I've heard her story before. I usually listen on the Tiny House channel.
