i feel like taika mentored and influenced roman a lot. like it kinda looks like he carries himself and has the same mannerisms as taika.
Yes, but "feelings" aren't facts.
Taika is a very opinionated SJW. He’s always popping up in the New Zealand media and news for getting offended by every little thing. He’s a waste of oxygen.
@@RBv195 try not reading it then, life isn't about bringing others down it's about finding joy yourself, so maybe try not chatting shit about people
@@jacobrayner6985 That's a pretty ignorant comment. Firstly, since NZ is a fairly small country and given Taika's profile, most of his negative opinions end up on the national news - so it's rather hard to ignore. Secondly, being Māori myself, there's a great injustice when people like him try to blame the shortfalls of our people on everyone else. Taika is notorious for it. It actually does not benefit young Māori in any way whatsoever and just encourages them to want to leech off the government even more. He's doing a real disservice to many great Māori role models out there who are actually trying their best to uplift the people in a real constructive manner. Thirdly and perhaps most importantly, I'm hardly inclined to take advice from anyone who idolises an idiot like Karl Marx.
Ryan P lmao you seem unable to understand anyone who’s opinion differs even slightly to yours, and to call this man lazy, or someone who promotes laziness seems entirely wrong and I’d like to understand further what brings you to that opinion, though I’m guessing it’s just cause he supports Jacinda
Roman is such a personality. I hope he continues to carry his unique spirit with him as he navigates this busy world of movies he’s entered into.
He has already said that he has had 80 rejections when auditioning. He's a trouper, who can do acting.
Just saw the movie and that child (Roman) is a brilliant actor!
He's unreal. To think he walked into that cold with no film experience is insane.
really i thought he was terrible. Always pulled me out of the film
@@jeebuz6627 go away u hater
Jeebuz I don’t want to refuse your opinion. I would like to ask, why do you feel so? Btw I don’t want to like say your wrong, just wondering
Strength Eighth C it felt as if he was going through the motions rather than actually feeling it. Nothing he did had any intention it always felt as though someone just told him to do it. You can sometimes see him thinking about his next line.
It’s so sweet how they all really enjoy Roman and nurture him. He’s such a gentle little guy. I hope he holds onto that.
He’s so sweet I genuinely don’t believe he’s twelve
Ikr I thought he was 10 because of his height
He’s 13 now :0
I love this kid. I can't believe he didn't get an Oscar nomination, that performance was just amazing. Wishing him all the best in his career. Hope his parents keep him grounded.
Reading the comments will be a mistake. Don't do it. Move along. Move along.
You were right, this is one of my favorite interviews and these shitheads in the comments are going on about some wild shit
You know what? For once I'mma listen to those kind of comment and I'll leave the section.
Thanks a lot for the warning
That's exactly what I thought when I read the title
Grazie
Kid might be naive but he's really smart
bruh hes like 10
@Rule lmao what tf are u saying yes it does, congrats on the dumbest comment of 2020 already
@Rule lmao ur literally talking about individuals whose a percentage of children less then 1 percent, statistical analysis ignores outliers, like what, take 100 3rd graders and take 100 8th graders odds are 99% of those 8th graders are smarter than the 3rd graders u dunce
Yeah, I don't think he's aware of how the world works politically
@Rule
Age directly correlates to intelligence due to the biology of the brain. It only stops growing at around 25 years old. The outliers, and not simply the 1% but the 1% of the 1% of the 1% of the 1% are what make the rule. The child geniuses with university degree are an absurd outlier. People become more intelligent as they mature their brain becomes more developed. It is true that people develop at different rates, have different biology and brain structure, and can be taught or learn intelligence/wit/whatever were actually talking about here. But age and intelligence are more correlated than I perceive you believe they are.
You can really feel the chemistry between everyone here. They all get along so well and so at ease with each other. Also they all seem to really enjoy watching Roman, and treat him like one of them rather than a little kid.
like I’m looking at the comments and they’re like, your 10 don’t worry bout politics, and I’m over here like, I’m his age (12) and I’m still a child but I’m AWARE about hate and politics. Not like being AWARE about it means his whole CHILDHOOD is ruined like c’mon?!?
You aren't aware about shit kid...
It's good that you are tapping into these things but at your / Roman's age, your opinion can easily get influenced by nonsense. Most of the other commenters are (I think) pointing to the fact that 12y.o. children should not be speaking publicly about politics on the world-wide level. When I was 12, untrue politics were my holy grail. ;) Don't take this as me trying to dictate how everyone should think, I love Roman's performance but c'mon?!?
@@TheCptCoy he probably knows more than you
An English child is more world politically aware than the average American
That's cool!
There are plenty of kids who know politics pretty well.
I don't think it is okay to force one's own political or religious views onto one's child, but children forming their own opinion is fine.
the confidence that roman has is AMAZING
I feel a little bad for kids that have to do press junkets with adults. Alot of conversations go over there head. Reminds me of when I was a kid, and I had to get dragged around family functions. Poor kid must be bored out of his mind.
I think Taika is used to working with child actors enough keep them interested. He and Sam definitely were making an effort to make Roman laugh and have fun in a really boring situation that most adults hate too.
@@ktsb1563 Hmm kind of felt like they were low key making fun of him tbh. Press junkets are grueling enough for adults. This poor kid must be struggling. I'm assuming his parents are off screen. Would be nice if he had a kid his age with him. You see the difference in energy when the Stranger Things cast are together in interviews. There with kids there age have a great time,
Press junkets are miserable even for adults.

Right this and shrek lmao
Taika must be the coolest dad
it’s funny how when taika, roman and Stephen are doing impressions thomasin just looks silently amused looking back and forth between them
What a little star this kid is. I was honestly floored by how good he was in the film...
The title is misleading they talk about alot of things.

So what do you want the title to be, “Cast of Jojo rabbit talks about things”
Beautiful movie! Everyone in it was amazing, but I'm especially impressed with Roman and Thomasin! Such talented young people!
I was so happy that this film was crazy and fun, and tragic. The kids nailed it.

@@neilwilson5785 It was also just very visually pleasing at times, in my opinion. :)
Funny enough, the movie has a line which asks that 10 year old boys stay out of politics and enjoy life as a kid.

@@skelly87real I was the field
fake
My mom knows Taika Waititi and really does have a mask underneath his own face.
I feel kinda uncomfortable for this kid he is very intelligent but it is clear a lot of the conversation goes over his head and he just parrots what he was told during media training and what hes heard on set just let him speak freely he is a kid he is allowed to make mistakes
The way the adults casually poke fun at him for not understanding "adult stuff" kinda bugs me too. He can't even join in the jokes because he doesn't know wtf there talking about half the time.
It wouldn’t surprise me. Taika is a pain in the ass back here in New Zealand. He’s a complete SJW with a chip on his shoulder against white New Zealanders. Being Māori myself, it really pisses me off how Taika frequently plays the victim card with his race. It doesn’t do Māori any good whatsoever.
Roman and the whole cast was so epically memorably watched it twice in one night.
“Fear is the path to the dark side…fear leads to anger…anger leads to hate…hate leads to suffering.”

Roman, you are a fantastically talented young actor with an incredible intellecutal and emotional capacity and ability to deftly navigate into adult themes. That's a gift. Don't let the world around you fit you in its mold and tell you who to like or not like. Always treat everyone equal, and don't take Rebel's Wilson's advice in the movie about killing those that are not like you. Love conquers hate, not more hate.

Yeah, I mean it's just supposed to be a comedy about a Hitler Youth who's imaginary friend is Hitler, then finds out he's harboring a Jew. Not really related to modern politics because Trump doesn't go out saying he hates Mexicans, border security is just an important issue that needed to be addressed, and also it's not illegal to be Hispanic in the U.S. so....
It's a comedy about a kid who's forced to have the "right" opinions on politics. Irony is something most leftists are incapable of. Do they really not see the glaring comparison? Do they really expect everyone to think this 11 year old has some original, non-programmed thought on Trump?
You do know trump calls mexicans rapists right thats kinda racist buddy
@@kilowhisperer5057 case in point right here, they've probably never had an original thought in their life.

I think Trump will pay just as much attention to this kid and even to this film as he did Greta Thunberg. Don’t parrot what others think even if you are 12 and it’s the path of least resistance. Love the film and his acting is spot on but keep your head out of politics. There’s already a long list of crazies and ideologues in Hollywood and the White House. Wasn't there a part in the film were so one says that little kids shouldn't be concerned about politics and should just carry on being kids, yet here they ask this kid about politics.

@@Yash-bu4du i think its you who needs to "chill out" seeing as how my comment prompted an emotional reaction from you. I never said people cant learn about hate from the movie. I was just observing how its ironic that in the same movie they say kids shouldn't worry about politics and just be kids, they then ask then ten year kid from the movie about what donald trump could learn. This kid is not going to know about trumps poitics cus hes ten and isnt concered about that stuff in the slightest. And i dont think it was so much a joke, more like politic point scoring and virtue signalling.
@@adammagill930 he's a kid but he can still learn the difference between right or wrong. The movie wasnt saying kids should stay away from politics but they should be nice, kind and enjoy life. Roman is 12, not able to establish a well-thought-out opinion. + He's easily influenced. + Working in a heavily politically active field filled with BS. Everybody knows this. Despite that, an actor asks him a question regarding Trump. After answering they all cheer him knowing this will be posted "everywhere". This leads to "political tunnel vision" where it's told to him what's right and what's wrong leading to him not being open-minded. In my opinion the worst trait for a developing adult. Just stop, it's apparent that this has been told to him and could come back to bite him.
