Current price of platinum is around 27 dollars per gram. That means if this thing was a solid chunk of platinum it would cost just around 4000 dollars.

That is just the case of the watch, you also have to take into account the rest of the components that are finished painstakingly to the macrometer by hand, without the help of machines. Even the smallest component that won't see the light of day ever again is finished to this standard. If anything the packaging cost a few hundred dollars

Most high end watches use sapphire lenses, since it is much harder. However, it is a bit more brittle than glass. It is usually quite a bit thicker though, so its durability is actually slightly better.

The left side is minutes will all the minutes placed clearly too. The dimensions are very good as well, and good thing is the hours and minutes will never overlap. It’s very easy to read.

Yes, a piece of platinum cost less, but you're not taking into consideration how the platinum is given shape, finished, and polished. Not only that but this process of making the case of the watch is only done by a few select people, whose skill is getting rarer and rarer by the day. That is just the case of the watch, you also have to take into account the rest of the components that are finished painstakingly to the macrometer by hand, without the help of machines. Even the smallest component that won't see the light of day ever again is finished to this standard. If anything the packaging cost a few hundred dollars

Most high end watches use sapphire lenses, since it is much harder.
However, it is a bit more brittle than glass. It is usually quite a bit thicker though, so its durability is actually slightly better.

Shinta Kikuchi its actually easier to read than most watches (obviously not digital). The right side is the hours and has all the hours placed clearly. The left side is minutes will all the minutes placed clearly too. The dimensions are very good as well, and good thing is the hours and minutes will never overlap. It’s very easy to read.
