Not really it was ticnicely wb fault because they made a company do the trailer and it was so good that they took the movie and give it to the same company and told them to complete the movie
Mk Jared Leto claims there was enough clips of him to make an entire movie out of it.
Instead he’s one of the characters with the least amount of screen time on the movie, he’s only just there to have romance with Harley.
This is not WB’s fault this is all the directors fault. The director decides what is filmed and is going to be in the final cut of the movie.
You will notice that not only is the joker character appalling but so is the movie in its entirety.
Leto's fault too. I can't remember which interview it was but there's one where he is asked what would the joker do in this situation and you can totally notice he didn't research shit about the joker.

I did actually like Jared as the joker, however I feel like more screen time for him and Harley would’ve been nice.

You have that backwards. Heath’s version of the Joker is NOTHING like the comic’s version at all - it’s an alternate reality version. Leto’s is much closer to certain comic’s Joker but only Mark Hammill gets the real classic version of the Joker.
to see a bunch of different actors play the joker is great. They all did a very good job, the joker has been portrayed in all the movies as a different character. Seems like the comics always made him change a bit. 👍🏻

I think the thing that makes this Joker feel like just another bad guy is that he's too materialistic with all the jewels, silver teeth, diamonds, gold, and fast cars. What made Joker so menacing was that you couldn't buy him, he had no price. He never wanted money like almost all villains, he wanted pure, unadulterated, chaos. He was the man who wanted to watch the world to burn , would burn in it, just for fun or to antagonize Batman.

After seeing JOKER (2019), this version of the character is practically unrecognizable. It’s like a caricature.
Joaquin’s portrayal of the Joker was completely different from Leto’s because the storylines were completely different. In my opinion, you can’t compare the two because their stories are SUPPOSED to be different. One is a mob boss, another is one person who is destroyed by society. Not that the script did Leto much justice anyways, but that’s just how I feel.
Edit: Also, how are you supposed to compare someone who was able to have a whole movie to develop his character versus someone who had about 15 minutes of screen time? I don’t get it. Okay I’ll stop now💗

Jared put so much heart into being the joker, but it's the writing that made him a bit off.
If they hadn't given him as many tattoos or have him be shirtless 40% of the time he was on screen, and focused more on the character development, I think that would make him better.
Plus, there are many different portrayals of the joker, like pirate joker, or lady joker, heck, even batman joker!
All I'm saying is that if the writing was better, he would of been an amazing joker. Plus, maybe some people would like him

So many people said they didn't like Jared Leto as the joker, I saw this movie because of Jared Leto. I've loved him since 30 seconds to Mars. I think he did so good, just wish there was more time to gawk at him during the movie.

If I could change one thing about this portrayal of the Joker, I'd only alter his laugh some so he sounds less like a dying seal and more like the Joker. Other than that, Jared Leto was spot on in my opinion.
Mia Fischer Jared Leto actually walked around the streets and try it out different laughs to see which one made people the most uncomfortable and unnerved. Clearly this was the winner, because it makes a lot of people uncomfortable and unnerved including me.

I really wish they would bring Jared Leto back to prove his Joker act once more, with different designers and director. This is really an interesting joker portrayal. Just fix the designs and scripts. Jared Leto is not a bad actor but the productions and scriptwriters and the director himself.

I can't believe how people are reacting to Leto. Yes the movie wasn't a perfect one but can't you see how Jared even offered to shave his own eyebrows for this?!!? Like show him some respect!! And honestly, I'm not a fan of Jared Leto but when I watched the movie, it scared me how he was so good and into the character. I don't care if you people didn't enjoy the movie, just don't put so much hate on the actor... he did nothing wrong but trying his hardest.
So what if he shaved his eyebrows off... yeah props to that devotion, he still harassed and behaved unprofessional onset, making it difficult for everyone else in the pursuit of his greatest joker performance. He was an asshole and his performance was bad. You cannot be a pretentious method acting asshole and send sx toys and dead animals and make everyone treat you like the character at all times unless your performance is breathtaking and it wasn't. Sure he was under a bad team, hes sincere about it and all respects for that but he did a terrible job too and he does not deserve praise for shaving his eyebrows when he acted like an infant and gave a performance that wasnt boring but it was funny at best.
