I have had a terrible experience with Stylevana. They are impossible to reach, they charged my credit card 6 weeks ago and still have not shipped my order :(
I watched one of Dr. Drays videos around this time last year where she discussed the vast difference between the ingredients in american vs. the rest of the world’s sunscreens and how the chemical filters used in places like Europe and Asia provide better protection for your skin. I then read an article that echoed the same information. Now I bulk buy my sunscreen from Amazon UK and Stylevana. She’s right. The European and Asian brands are better.
I’m south East Asian, relatively fair (warm) tone and very dry skin. Have been using Biore UV water gel sunscreen for years, but it always make my skin oily by mid day, recently switched to Beauty of Joseon and I’m mind blown. It literally gives you moisture and work as a sunscreen, nothing else. Too bad I’ve already gotten tonnes of biore when I was in Japan earlier this year 😂 I should post a giveaway
I commented this on her short of the Skin 1004 tone up SPF video, but I absolutely *LOVE* this sunscreen. I have tried at least 4 of the SPF’s in this video and many many American, Korean, Japanese sunscreens and this one is by far my favorite. I don’t think I will be using a different once from here on out. Highly recommend.
The Beauty of Joseon one is my #1 and it changed my mind about sunscreen. I hated every U.S. one I’ve ever tried, and was prepared to die young rather than use it. It either burned or felt like a layer of lard on my face. But the Skin1004 is also great. I love them and I’m grateful because I actually like to wear them.
Same! US chemical ones irritate the heck out of me and the mineral ones make my face dry up and itch. I’ve just been wearing large hats and hiding in the shade until I met my love, Japanese sunscreens!

No wonder why littlleeextra rice berry is a best-seller in sunscreens. I’ve noticed positive changes in my face. My older hyperpigmentation has slowly vanished. I’m on my second tube of Skin Aqua UV Super Moisture spf 50 PA++++ , but I think it’s the “Essence”version and the tube is a little different. I really really like it. As a makeup wearer I find that it works very nicely under makeup. Great product.
I love the skin aqua milk that is 80 minutes water resistant. However, Rohto is recommending it only as a daily sunscreen and not for sports, Beach, or outdoor activities compare to Sunplay.

I'm having such a difficult time finding a sunscreen that doesn't irritate my skin or make me break out. I got chemical burns back in 2013 from Neutrogena on my neck and the antecubital area of both arms. Since then, everything irritates. All US approved chemical suncreens make me nervous, and BOJ and Round Lab broke me out with little tiny bumps all over my face. Every mineral sunscreen I've used dries me out or stays super oily and sticky looking. I'd love to find a sunscreen that I could apply multiple times/day without feeling anxious.
Have you tried hybrid sunscreens? I don’t tolerate the BOJ sunscreen or any US sunscreens with Avobenzone, but the Drmtlgy spf 45 (untinted for me) is suuuuuper gentle. As in, I can apply it with my extremely compromised skin barrier from tretinoin. It has a combo of zinc and octinoxate.
For me the Japanese ones work, less on the Korean, nothing American on my face. Rohto Mentholatum has my faves (skin aqua white bottle with the gold top is my #1 but several are ok. Worth trying a few). Nivea is tolerable too. I find the Korean ones put a lot more essences and plant extracts that irritate my skin. Keep hunting!
I get a regular bad reaction to US sunscreens as well. One sunscreen I find has minimal reaction for me is the Isehan kiss me mommy UV aqua milk (japanese brand)
Hi Dr. Dray! Love you content! I’ve really upped my skin care routine/protection with your videos. Have you thought of making a video for pregnant women🤰🏻? Heard they’re supposed to stay away from AHA/BHA, retinoids etc. What is safe and what is not. Also, I think a video on efficacy of commonly used sunscreens using the sunscreen detecting cameras would be a treat for the viewers. This will also show how important it is to apply enough sunscreen and commonly missed spots. Thank you!
HaruHaru dried my skin so bad. 20min after applying I could actually feel my skin pulling. Tried with a thicker moisturizer same thing. No white cast on me(but I’m pretty pale), no smell, great packaging and formula really beautiful but alas. For reference I have combo dry/normal, sensitive, mild rosacea skin and I can only tolerate mineral sunscreens.
When you got sensitive Rosacea fungal acne skin and is brown that hates Niacinamide and Zinc. I also got diabetes type 2, all connected to inflammation in the gut, and being deficient in vitamin D. I can forget physical or mineral sunscreens as I’m also allergic to mineral makeup, so I guess that also goes for minerals in sunscreens. And so far I haven’t found any sunscreen that works for me without breaking me out except Nivea Sun Protect Super Water Gel Sunscreen Pump Bottle SPF50 PA+++ (Japanese), and my favorite used to be Rohto Skin Aqua Super Moisture Gel SPF50+ PA++++ before they reformulated it and added green tea which my skin can’t handle. I prefer the milky sunscreens as they are matte, but after ruining my skin and now have Rosacea those break me out.
Good morning. Omg I ordered that centella sunscreen you talked about. I really dislike it. I ordered it by mistake. I cannot use mineral or hybrid sunscreens. It’s a very weird cast also. I’m a pale olive skin tone but this did not work at all. My skin looked like a glazed ham!! But I’m sure it would work for someone less yellowish then me. Did not irritate my eyes at all.
I love the Skin Aqua Milk. However, my only concern is that some influencers on Instagram say it doesn’t spread evenly and looks patchy when viewed under a UV camera. On the other hand, dermatologists advise not to rely on UV cameras. The question is whether those cameras are truly based on a scientific approach or if we should place more trust in a large Japanese pharmaceutical company with extensive research and Japanese regulatory backing.
Skin 1004 Tone brightening tone up sunscreen sounds too good to be true! it looks like it's supposed to leave a white cast, kind of like an Asian aesthetic. I've noticed the white tint of mineral sunblock works for me. Also, I feel like you read the comments. Wonder if I'll get hooked on this sunscreen, which i just ordered (we'll see). i was looking at old pictures of myself from 10 years ago when i was a runner, and i had more damaged looking skin than i do now...sunscreen is important!
Hi I wattched a review on NO BS Beauty where she tested the the Isntree HA watery Sun gel and said texture is “slightly sticky and you’ll want to use powder over.” Do you disagree? Would be great to get another perspective as I was considering this one, but I don’t want to have to deal with putting powder over it and I don’t want some thing that’s at all sticky, even after drying down. Thank you! 😊
Stylevana is very bad with their customer service. My parcel got lost in December and they have yet not reached out to me though I mailed them many times. Be aware if you are ordering from them.

Skin1004 hyalu-cica is the ONLY sunscreen that does not sting my eyes. Love how light it is and suitable for my oily skin. It sinks in immediately and does not leave shiny/greasy finish. I have found my HG in this product.
@@aunparalleled I have not tried that one. But I heard it is similar to hyalu-cica but a bit more moisturizing. I did not test anything else, after I found one that works for me and my sensitive eyes :) I am not experimental with my suscreens, just wanted something that I could actually wear :D I was literally crying with all other SPF-s. They all stung so bad. It was difficult.
I gave the Canmake mermaid sunscreen a try but it burned my eyes so bad 😬 I'm sticking with Skin Aqua that really works the best for me on a daily basis, and La Roche Posay Anthelios for the days spent outdoors.
The Mediheal NML Water Drop sunscream was said to have SPF >80 and PPD >37 (tested by the brand themselves?), which is so high for a Korean sunscreen. The first 15 ingredients are exactly the same as the Beauty of Joseon one (same sunscreen filters) so I wonder what makes it have such a much higher sun protection compared to the BoJ one.
So sad to see so many youtubers working with Stylevana given the fact that there are hundreds of people waiting months and months on their orders. And Stylevana doesnt even ship worldwide 😔🥲
Some channels though will recommend other k-beauty retailers because they know Stylevana can be a problem especially if what you order isn't in stock at the time.
Stylevanna in the UK are absolutely horrendous, the only way I ended up getting my order months later was with the help of PayPal, never again! Yes Style are so much better, still takes 4 weeks or so but at least they keep you up to speed.
Skin Aqua UV super moisture milk is my jam. I have a deep skin tone and it does not leave a cast at all. It is perfect! Plus I have rosacea and sensitive skin. This is the best sunscreen hands down. And it does not burn the eye. Does it work well under makeup? Yes it does. Love it!
the skin aqua one is almost my holy grail. I use the one produced in Indonesia for Indonesian market, so maybe it's slightly different to the Japanese one. because my only grip with it is that it feels like it doesn't set on my face. like even after a few hours, i can still feel it if i touch my face, like it doesn't just "disappear". and sadly, since last year i think, it kinda stings my eyes. it used to be very safe for my eyes. i think it's bc i can't tolerate chemical filters even more nowadays. but it's really cheap here, about 3 USD i think.

This is the 2nd time I use the skin 1004 hyalu cica, and i think this is phenomenal sunscreen. Though its a little bit sting in my eyes but it fade away quickly. I ordered in stylevanna, and i got the order after 2 weeks. It is cheaper price than buying in amazon.
I looove the Haruharu sunscreen, even if I have an eczema flare up it never stings and my skin always looks more hydrated and rested after applying it. I have medium/tan skin and it doesn’t give me a white cast.
Rom&nd Zero Sunclean leaves zero cast. Do a review on it, please, I haven't found anything like it for just $15. Haruharu Mineral has more cast than the Centella 1004 Airfit 50+
The Beauty of Joseon spf is my favorite Asian sunscreen so far. Admittedly I've only tried 3-4 different brands, but just loved the Beauty of Joseon so much I stopped looking. BONUS: tested it on my five-year-old (who has eczema) and it works great for him as well. Definitely sensitive skin friendly!
I love the feel of the BofF too, it’s just like a light liquid moisturizer in texture, just slips on. A dream compared to all the US sunscreens I’ve used, or even the French ones like La Roche Posay.
The kose waterproof sunscreen is a game changer! It feels amazing when applying and leaves no cast and doesn’t burn around my eyes, even when I sweat! It’s amazing!!
Stylevana is not e reliable site and I wish youtubers would check their social media and the ratings they get on other sites before they collaborate with them and recommend them to their viewers. They should invest the effort they put into their image and advertising into actually making their site run smoothly and building a satisfied and returning customer base.
Well said. I used to love them well the price lol. But they're taking money and not delivering products. 3 months is too long to wait, so I asked for my money back lucky I used PayPal
I’ve been using skinaqua gel and I LOVE it. It makes me look pretty shiny but I’m shiny all the time regardless. Works great on my facial hair and doesn’t burn my rosacea or undereyes
Thanks for reviewing the skin 1004 sunscreens. I have been using their skincare brand because they work for me but my sunscreen is from Foodaholic and I am unsure whether Skin 1004 sunscreen is better for me. I might give it a try. Thank you!❤

I've tried most of the sunscreens you mentioned, plus a lot more, but I ALWAYS find myself coming back to my beloved ''Canmake Mermaid''. It's so gentle on my sensitive skin, non drying to my also dry skin and works amazingly under makeup!!
Scinic super mild sun essence is my absolute favorite I have the madagascar centella, but it is SO watery I question the level of protection. Beauty of Joseon is good, too, but Scinic is the best hands down.
I tried Stylevana, prices were good, but I didn’t realize they are located in HongKong and it took 1 month to get to New York City. 😢 BTW, Cosrx Aloe sunscreen is my favorite for the summer. Please try and review. ❤
Yes, I’m in Atlantic Canada and the shipping is always 3-4 weeks. I’ve come to just accept it, place my orders in advance and then it feels like Christmas when the box finally shows up. 😂
I like the isntree texture and finish, but it’s got an overwhelming sunscreen smell to it that I can’t tolerate on a daily basis. The canmake and the BOJ both don’t have that and I love them both.
Finally i found the reason why hyalucica ss from 1004 is the most fav from that brand. But i still pick skinaqua moist ss as simple as its not causing any trouble like some sunscreen ive ever tried, its also cheap.
Definitely want to try some of these but wanted to ask if there is Asian tinted sunscreen you would recommend. I have super fair skin sensitive skin. I need something thats not going to make my eyes feel like they are on fire.
I just checked the reviews for stylevana. seems like a lot of people having problem with them and didn't receive their products till months later. Is this true? has someone had the same experience laterly?
Yes i did! 2 months and a half... i didnt read reviews because the website seems "ledgit". If i order again its really because products i know and like cant be find anywhere else AND i dont need it fast 😊
I asked to cancel my order on 30/05. On 22/06 they finally answered saying they'd refund within 3 to 10 working days, and I think they only answered because I started a PayPal dispute. I was naive and trusted they'd follow through with the refund so I let the paypal dispute expire instead of excalating to a claim, and now I don't have my money back and I can't open another dispute and I have to go to the bank to see if they can do something to get my money back. Save yourself a headache and stay away from this store!
Skin1004 Hyala-cica and Rovectin sensitive skin are the only sunscreens I've tried that don't slide off my eyelids into my eyes, and the Skin1004 leaves much less of a white cast
I was sent a sample of the Iunik Centella sunscreen and the free sample worked, I bought it. Nobody talks about it though, which I find weird. Everyone goes on and on about the Joseon one, so I bought both. The Joseon one is great, but for me, the Iunik one is even better.
I have a darker (SE Asian) skintone, and the Rohto Skin Aqua UV Super Moisture Milk has been my HG sunscreen for a few years now. *Zero cast.* And there's never been titanium dioxide listed on the packaging. Something to note: The ing. list for this on stylevana has a disclaimer at the end saying that it includes ingredients from any possible iterations of this product, so perhaps some long-ago version had titanium dioxide? But the Japanese list on the packaging itself has never shown titanium dioxide.

@@HolyyMoleyy I'll give it a try. Thank you!
@@Hemmyii Thank you!
Axis Y has version 3 of their mineral sunscreen, finally they removed fragrance and cast is minimal. It's worth trying
I tried this the finished is lovely, but the amount of time I have to spend trying to blend it into my skin is just too long
When you got sensitive Rosacea fungal acne skin and is brown that hates Niacinamide and Zinc. I prefer the milky sunscreens as they are matte, but after ruining my skin and now have Rosacea those break me out.
did u ever find one they works for you? my skin also is sensitive and can’t handle high % of zinc
Going to try the other 1004 you recommended:)
I love the Isntree hyaluronic acid watery sun gel is dries matte not sticky greasy or tacky. It’s perfect for my sensitive skin too!
My new favourite sunscreen is the Purito soft touch sunscreen :)
Please do a video on European/ Asia sunscreens that would be good for hard core beach going and riding horses
Skin Aqua whitening (white silver cap) better than the blue one. It's make skin so glowing and very good for sensitive skin.
MYSTERY SOLVED!!!
Metal sunglasses frames as a potential cause for worsening melasma.. i could not figure out why i was getting dark patched ABOVE my eyebrows- w no other abrasions/breakouts to cause this are to worsen…..
I ordered plastic fames/
Lets see if this
Does the trick!!! When simply heard what you said about the possibility of it- my gut went ding ding ding…..
Also- i used to be an avid runner-

I have ALWAYS
Done hats -- some hat bands worsen my melsma bc i like my hats tighter on my head-
So my forehead gets abrasied over time, even with soft bands inside- any advice or running hats you know to lessen this issue?!?!
THANKS for metal frame knowledge
Skin1004 hyalu-cica is the ONLY sunscreen that does not sting my eyes. Love how light it is and suitable for my oily skin. It sinks in immediately and does not leave shiny/greasy finish. I have found my HG in this product.
Did you try beauty of Jauson?
Is it water resistance ?
@@aunparalleled I have not tried that one. But I heard it is similar to hyalu-cica but a bit more moisturizing. I did not test anything else, after I found one that works for me and my sensitive eyes :) I am not experimental with my suscreens, just wanted something that I could actually wear :D I was literally crying with all other SPF-s. They all stung so bad. It was difficult.
Even though Stylevana takes forever to ship, I love their prices. I always purchase a couple months ahead
my major concern is stinging of the eyes !!!!
Happy Friday Dr Dray!! It's 31 degree celcius today in Winnipeg!!
I gave the Canmake mermaid sunscreen a try but it burned my eyes so bad 😬 I'm sticking with Skin Aqua that really works the best for me on a daily basis, and La Roche Posay Anthelios for the days spent outdoors.
Skin Aqua is awesome!
The watery sun gel has a scent to me. It’s not perfumish, but smells like 70’s summer time for sure
Good Morning Dr. Dray🌷and to everyone watching😊 Happy Friday!

Matte, for sensitive skin, without massive white cast. IMPOSSIBLE. 😢
So true
Yesstyle is much better…..
Stylevanna in the UK are absolutely horrendous, the only way I ended up getting my order months later was with the help of PayPal, never again! Yes Style are so much better, still takes 4 weeks or so but at least they keep you up to speed.
Agreed, really disappointing.
wow that white cast from the skin1004 sunscreen is INSANE LOL. major cerave flashbacks
I got the Kroger sun screen. I love it. Thank you for recommending it. Wouldn’t have tried it otherwise.
Sucks so much that my skin can't tolerate niacinamide. So many wonderful products I can't try 😢
I LOVE the Skin Aqua... It's also water resistant
Me too.
Thank you for this! So many American sunscreens burn my eyes.
Anyone else having a problem getting the discount code to work?
Be aware too that Stylevana has terrible reviews 😢😢
Unfortunately the tints in Asian sunscreens are not deep enough for even tan skin
Love it!
Not related to the topic of the video, but it would be great if you reviewed the skincare products at Aldi. They even have a water gel dupe.
Neutrogena sunscreen made my face breakout, and it stings around the eyes, however shisheido sunscreen is the best as well as cosrx soothing aloe.
Not sure why but the Haru Haru sunscreen stung my face when I first put it on, happened both times I used it, so I ended up using it for body only
Also felt kinda stinging. Did it dry you out?
@@vittoriafisher for me it's pretty hydrating, no drying just stinging
the skin aqua one is almost my holy grail. I use the one produced in Indonesia for Indonesian market, so maybe it's slightly different to the Japanese one. because my only grip with it is that it feels like it doesn't set on my face. like even after a few hours, i can still feel it if i touch my face, like it doesn't just "disappear". and sadly, since last year i think, it kinda stings my eyes. it used to be very safe for my eyes. i think it's bc i can't tolerate chemical filters even more nowadays. but it's really cheap here, about 3 USD i think.
ada rekomendasi ss kak?
@@heilauu7348 skin aqua spf 50 (the blue one), azarine tone up (whitecast di awal), azarine yg lain jg oke, tp kynya agak pilling, the aubree daily sunscreen (agak perih di mata sy)
What is your skin type? I was waiting for a try on but she missed that one…I am combo T zone with some dry patches and wonder if it would work for me

It's good, just wish they had a bigger bottle.
Same with me, it’s all I use now.
It doesn’t irritate my eyes. It’s terrific.
Burns my eyes and face sm
Haha! Waited for weeks for you to get your hands on haru haru. I think I managed to be one of the first to get it 😂. Was well excited.
Sad that the Centella air fit Sun cream white cast looks terrible even on your fair skin
The kose waterproof sunscreen is a game changer! It feels amazing when applying and leaves no cast and doesn’t burn around my eyes, even when I sweat! It’s amazing!!
Oily proof ?
Good I just ordered it to try! Needed more waterproof ones for the summer
@@Monica_706undercvr It's been 24 days since they said they'd refund me and I'm still waiting for my money :(
I’ve been using skinaqua gel and I LOVE it. It makes me look pretty shiny but I’m shiny all the time regardless. Works great on my facial hair and doesn’t burn my rosacea or undereyes
Does it leak at all?
It doesn't leak from the bottle. It's tiny and super practical to carry around
Thanks for reviewing the skin 1004 sunscreens. I have been using their skincare brand because they work for me but my sunscreen is from Foodaholic and I am unsure whether Skin 1004 sunscreen is better for me. I might give it a try. Thank you!❤
Im trying to find if you have a video on rosacea. I don't know how to search within your site and you have so many. I trust you more than other derms on YT,❤
I've tried most of the sunscreens you mentioned, plus a lot more, but I ALWAYS find myself coming back to my beloved ''Canmake Mermaid''. It's so gentle on my sensitive skin, non drying to my also dry skin and works amazingly under makeup!!
Skin 1004 is new to me. I just bought it and love it and it was 9 .❤❤
Scinic super mild sun essence is my absolute favorite I have the madagascar centella, but it is SO watery I question the level of protection. Beauty of Joseon is good, too, but Scinic is the best hands down.
I tried the Isntree and loved it, but I wound up with a horrible rash on my neck.
I tried Stylevana, prices were good, but I didn’t realize they are located in HongKong and it took 1 month to get to New York City. 😢
BTW, Cosrx Aloe sunscreen is my favorite for the summer.
The beauty of Joseon is it. Have no motivation to try another because it is that good.

I’ve learned not to stray from the Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel. Doesn’t burn my eyes and dries back not shiny on my oily skin. Great under makeup, too.
I prefer the chemical version of the Haruharu sunscreen.
Which one is better for oily skin 😢?
You forgot Scinic!
Beauty of Joseon, Biore Light Up Essence and Anessa are my go to sunscreens…
Finally i found the reason why hyalucica ss from 1004 is the most fav from that brand. But i still pick skinaqua moist ss as simple as its not causing any trouble like some sunscreen ive ever tried, its also cheap.
Isntree is great but it's burning my eyes like crazy...
Love the Skin Aqua, works very well with my oily skin. Happy Friday doc.
3 months still no products. Iv had to ask for my money back
I asked to cancel my order on 30/05.
Happy Friday. Watching your videos and following your recommendation of a basic skin care routine has saved my skin. ❤
Glad to hear the tips have helped
I was sent a sample of the Iunik Centella sunscreen and the free sample worked, I bought it. Nobody talks about it though, which I find weird. Everyone goes on and on about the Joseon one, so I bought both. The Joseon one is great, but for me, the Iunik one is even better.
Hi Dr Dray. Do check out Anessa mineral sunscreen milk spf50 for sensitive skin. It's been my go to in Japan!
The coupon code is not working :( I tried to place an order and it says the coupon code is not valid.

Dr. Dray, I'd love to hear your opinion on shipping sunscreen in the heat. I've heard if it's 80 outside the shipping trucks are about 100 degrees inside. What is your opinion on shipping sunscreen in hot weather?😮
Supposedly, cosmetic products (including sunscreen) are shipped in refrigerated trucks.
