NB: I forgot to mention that RENTING an apartment is yours "forever". However, when you buy a house, if you don't log in for 45 days, you lose your house and everything that came with it ( eg. Furnitures )... So the benefit of renting is that you can log out forever and never lose your furnitures ( if you chose to buy furniture that is ).
This is why imo these are superior to houses. Houses simply are not worth the work if you dont plan to be subbed forever.
Your video was extremely helpful! Unlike many new FFXIV players I came from Conan Exiles, not WoW. In CE I could just build my house anywhere and decorate it to the gills, in any RP flavor I chose. I had seen some Japanese websites on how in-depth the house decorating can get in FFXIV and have toured some player homes here, but then I found out how hard is is to get one. I was actually feeling a little depressed, so learning about Apartments, which doesn't seem to be a feature well-advertised in-game, really saved me. Thank you DJ Dragon!

In the two and a half years I've played 2 of the FC's I was a part of kicked EVERYBODY out and renamed the FC. So if you DO buy a FC apartment be certain it's a stable FC! It might be worth the extra 200k Gil to buy a non FC apartment. (FC apartments are 300k.) At least then you won't log in one day to find your apartment is gone. 😆
Gridania, Limsa, Ul'dah & Kugane all have residential districts and apartment buildings. And I would assume in 6.1 when Ishgard gets its residential district it will also have apartments.

I just leveled my chocobo by having it with me during combat. Never really understood why I would want to stable it for XP and then be out in the world without a helper healing me and doing DPS. Oh and once your chocobo reaches level 10 don't forget to feed it if Thavnairan Onions. They increase its level cap by 1 for each onion you feed it. I probably missed out on two levels of XP before I realized level 10 wasn't the max level! 😆 (You can only feed it 1 onion at a time, btw. Which is good because those damn onions are expensive!)
Hey ty for your comment! The stable option is good when you log out or when you think you wont be questing for awhile. While your chocobo is in your stable, other players can level up your chocobo every 1 hour while your logged out or afk by feeding it if they want to. In my case, I had 3 other players who was part of my building apartment and who had stabled their chocobo as well. So I was leveling up their chocobo when I could ( as a gift )! Not sure about house thought. It is a simple way to level up automatically your chocobo when afk I guess, that is only if your chocobo requires to be leveled up. Of course, if you need your chocobo immediatly, then you should bring it out with you. It's only a matter of choice I guess ^^
They don't put the apartments in an obvious place. The first residential area I went to was the Lavender Beds and I couldn't find the apartments the first time there. The second time I went I had looked it up online. It would be really helpful if ffxiv put a symbol legend on their maps.
I made sure to make Second Lieutenant before I got the full game because I knew I'd want an apartment but didn't know how long it would take to make that rank. I knew about being able to change chocobo colors with an apartment but didn't know about the training. That's cool. It's taking way too long training it just through using it as a fighting companion.
Haven't heard of Kobai Goten till just now, but then again I didn't buy Stormblood till two days ago. Maybe I'll hold off on an apartment until I get that far along to see what that's like.
Hi there! Ty for your comment. To make it to 2nd lieutenant could be tedeous if you are new. But worth it long run ^^ training chocobo via stable is good " only " if you dont expect to use him for awhile ( logging out.. afking, etc ) bcz it takes 1 hour to feed him thus training him which gains 1% exp ( of I remember well ). I gain around 5k exp per hour but you have to constantly come back every hour to feed him. Otherwise, you can leave it stable as long as you want. While you log out, it is "possible" for other people to feed him ( bcz people are just that nice ) thus leveling up in exp for free your chocobo at no cost...and while you are logged out. I highly recommend that "you" also feed other people's chocobo ( if you want and if you can ) in order for others to do the same. Hope this help ^^

Do the items placed inside affect you while your in different areas? Like if I place the tea set or sandwich basket in a Gridania apartment, will I still get effects while doing questing in Shadowbringers? Or vice versa?

this is nice guide tho i never had an apartment but i learned a bit didn't know they had a chocobo stable. i always just buy a house (i've lost it twice from not logging in xD)

Hey if you get an apartment but want to hunt for an estate plot, can you buy the plot or you need to evacuate apartment first?
The apartment is yours forever once you buy it. Estate is a different story and doesnt have any impact on your apt as you can come back later anytime. However, housing is different. If buy an estate ( house ) then stop entering your house for more then 45 days , your house get demolished.
I never bought an apartment. I got lucky and bought a small house. It's neat but as mentioned before if you don't log in (and visit your house?) every 45 days they demolish your house. 😱 And since they're so hard to get a hold of if you ever have friends that you want to switch servers to join it's _really painful_ to give up that house you spent time and millions of Gil getting. I would say unless you really want to go hardcore home ownership and decorating and whatnot I would just stick with an apartment for personal use. I kind of wish I had just bought an apartment instead, because what I do in my house really doesn't justify me having it (at the moment).

@@DjDragon5000 I got mine when they added three new wards last October. For new housing lots there is no timer. The first person to get there and buy it gets it. I know the new ishgard housing will have lottery system on some wards. But if there are still some first come first serve wards I would say wake up early and log on as soon as the servers come up from maintenance. Get into the ishgard housing ward and just buy the first lot you can find. It took me 10 minutes just to get logged on in October. But even with that handicap I was still able to find a lot. And that was with only three new wards being open. I assume ishgard is going to have 24 so a lot more opportunity. If they happen to release the map of ishgard housing before it's live. Just try to guess what the least desirable location is and aim for that! 😆

No, apartment doesn't give you extra storage unfortunatly.
@@DjDragon5000 yes, it does. You have extra storage for 100 housing items.

@@DjDragon5000 go to social menu then housing, then the first selection (the one to edit your house) and right click on item and store. Apartment has 100 item slots in storage, not including the items u put down (also 100 slots I think)
You have to be in the apartment to do this of course...

Lol! Ill give you a tips. Just do main story quest and dailies duty. Also craft HQ low items ( level 1 to 20 ) and sell them for high price. Just wait and it will sell. I got 3 millions just from selling those ^^

500k gil bruh, even during msq i only stayed at like a max of 130k gil with barely any spending.

You have to craft and sell. I made 3 millions just by crafting low level 1-20 items but HQ. Sell them for 30-50k each. Depends which items, people buy it. Why? People are too lazy to craft low level items lol

@@shinkicker404 Yup, and oh, you can literally buy a nhq toadskin ring for 1.5k in the NPC and sell it for 10k in the mb. It's crazy lol
The one that sells the most are Disciple of the hand HQ gears between lev 1-20 . But it depends. You need to check market often to see which ones are missing. Then craft it and sell for 40k-50k. It will sell trust me lol
Is the apartment refundable?
No :(
It's permanent though and you can get the money back if you sell products you've created as an alchemist.

Ah, yes my fps. Unfortunatly, I'm the old school type. I have a dinosaur pc. Saving 3k for next gen pc. But Im kinda broke for now. I do what I can with what I have ^^
