    Broke people say money can't buy you happiness, but happiness can be something like having the money for an operation you or someone close to you needs and they can't afford it. That's happiness. Well, also having the money to experience life. You don't need to make millions but you need to make some good coin.

    Excellent points. I was kicked out of the dating market 35 years ago. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. I have no kids. I worked hard, retired early and now I enjoy myself every day. Today I'm in the best shape of my life, I have tons of great friends and several hobbies. It's not that money buys happiness, it's that financial stress destroys happiness, relationships, etc. The entire way of life is too economically focused so people can't live truly human lives no matter what end of the economic spectrum they are on

    • @epbrown01
      @epbrown01 Місяць тому +2

      People see that financial stress as normal. At work we had a network glitch that delayed the payroll direct deposit by 5 hours - people lost their minds. More than half my coworkers lived in a financial house of cards and our job had just bumped the table. And it would never occur to them that *not* spending would end that stress.

      Life has always been economically focused. For most of human history, people spent their time worrying about not starving. You have it so much better than them, it's almost laughable about people complaining that they have to actually work. Maybe if they didn't buy so much crap, and learned some money management skills, they wouldn't be stressed about money.

      I'd go further and say I think what most people really desire is contentment. You can't be happy every day for the rest of your life, that would be insanity. You need to experience other emotions too. However, you can be content, and yeah money doesn't _necessarily_ buy that.

The diminishing return aspect is real. You are on to something here. Better to have a short life doing what you want than a long one doing what you hate. Numbers in the bank account makes things easier and offers trips to Africa I reckon, but you don't have to be the donkey with the cart and carrot unless you want to. Of course if you regret it, you may end up miserable with your choice and attempting to shame people in to conformity. This will justify wasting your life only chasing something that is merely an illusion (money), rather than enjoying real tangible experiences (good or bad) that you can learn from. Yes you need money, but you do not need to be rich to enjoy life. In fact you could learn how happy people can be without lots of paper by visiting Africa. Huh.

    Money equals freedom & a sense of security.
    Growing up within generational poverty takes everything out of a person, just to believe in one self, to stay the course & always work hard in order to break those chains of suffering & lack that poverty burdens you with. My life's mission since I was a child & very aware that my family was poor, was to get myself out of that cursed environment. I am almost there and its due to the sheer power of belief & the desire to want the freedom that money provides, which has been the sole reason why I have strived so hard in life.
    Its a crime to go thru life & never try your best to improve your life = live to your highest potential. If everyone practiced this philosophy of life, then we all collectively raise the standard of life within our family - community - society.
    Your life is a gift, treated it as such & always have faith in yourself. Believe is powerful & can lift you out of poverty and break the chains of hardship, if you believe that you CAN do it!
    I am living proof against all odds, if you believe in yourself, anything is possible.

    While many of his speaking points do make sense, I think his end goal definitely isn't for male betterment.
    I've never heard him hold woman accountable for anything.. Seems like he panders to the opposite sex.

    Money can help a person stay away from all the bullshit.
    The bullshit also being individuals, groups, circumstances, crazy situations and crazy rules.
    This isn't equal to buying happiness or even pleasure or comfort.
    But, at least it gives the necessary quality to life.
    That's why some of the worst things one can do to a person is make it harder to provide for oneself on one's own terms. Which is not unlike the attempt to cause another to be dependent on others and circumstances created by others.
