There is no need to leave pressure cracks in if you use Helix micro rebar which prevents cracks. Most commercial floors don t saw pressure cracks in a floor because concrete mix and preparation is strong enough to resist cracking.

Hi Tim, Newbie question here. So I got myself all things needed to do a garage floor. Poly Kit, flakes, shoes, everything. I have been doing some sample boards (12 x 12 inches). I make sure I put enough poly mix with a 4 inch roller, then I drop the flakes from 2 -3 ft. high above the board and make sure I have 100% coverage. But after I remove the excess and scrape the board I find a lot of empty spaces were the flake did not adhere. What am I doing wrong?
Now do one with clear epoxy and handfuls of real diamonds spread around instead of the flakes! 😂 I'm sure there's someone rich enough out there who wants a real diamond garage floor lol

I watched this video about your purple color. I live in Washington state bellingham to be exact. First do you know anyone who could do this for me. Or can you sell me all of the supplies I would need to do it?
So, when my garage was done?, *THEY* Did the coating & procedure all in 1 day! They ground the concrete which had a previous epoxy non-flake coating already on it. Primed it, then epoxy’ed it, then broadcast the flake & then came over the top with the aspartic polyurethane coating. I want them to come back & re-coat the Clear top coat With some added silica to keep it from being so slippery (as they said it would be if they came back and recoated it again). But they won’t come back I don’t think they think I’m serious or something which is weird because I’m the customer and if I’m willing to pay why do people wanna argue with the customer?. You guys ought to experiment with a grid-tape design with a black or a white under coating to show through like grout lines.
That’s weird that they won’t come back. We’ve done some projects with multi colors like that. It always adds a day or two to the job so it makes it not worth it to most people because of the extra expense.
That is very cool, but as I commented on another video, that is definitely NOT for me. I like USING my garage, & you'd never find a screw that falls... until your tire does.

Where do you get your material from?
I had my floor re finished and the company went ham with the chips like this. I HATED it. Cleaning up messes like coolant and oil was such a pain in the ass. The chips just tear mops up. The only way i could clean it was to take everything out of my garage and spray it down with a hose.
Our floors are pretty smooth. It sounds like the company that did yours put the top coat on too thin.
that floor looks nice honestly. I would do black and blue flakes if I ever did this lol
Do you serve Newport News, VA?
Can I do half my garage at a time?
Best floor I've scene.
which type of squeege your are using?
A flat squeegee.
@@TimDCVA thank you. you giving me confidence to do my garage floor. such a informative videos
What brand?, I don’t see it in your favorite tools list. We use magic trowels but I like the low profile of the one you are using.
Can I buy this product from you? To do the work myself! Have a 2500 square-foot garage to do of my own! SW Michigan
We don’t sell materials. Sorry.
Are you in Georgia? Can you help me! Lost and don’t know what to do. Contractor jacked my floor up.
No but I have a friend I can recommend. Can you DM me on IG? @timdcva
What’s the average price to have that done in your area? I bet it gets super toxic in the garage
Around $6ish per foot. We use 100% solids epoxy and low odor poly so it’s not bad in a garage.
That is a huge amount of flakes. How many pounds for a 2 car garage? At approx. $12 for a pound bag it looks pricey.
Would this floor be approved for a commercial kitchen?
We typically use urethane cement. An epoxy + polyaspartic floor can’t handle thermal shock from spilling hot oil from deep fryers.
Thank you for that. Do you also do a diy for that application?
Urethane cement isn’t diy friendly. The material sets pretty fast and you need a lot of people to do it.
Hey guys...I'm building my house in a remote place where I can't get a grinder. It's a new slab, was hoping to get a polish look. Any suggestions? I can get a tiny grinder or a cleaning/burnishing machine from janitorial supply.
I think polishing is too complicated for DIY… especially if you don’t have the right equipment.
I would suggest putting clear sealer on it instead.
Ballistix or coval
Hey Tim where can I get this product from. I need info please. Thank you.
Hey Max. We use 100% solids epoxy primer with a 90% solids polyaspartic top coat.
We recommend specific brands that we like in our course. decorativeconcreteschool.teachable.com
Cost per sq ft or sq m?
Usually around $6 per foot for most garages.
So this will be grippy!?
Awesome job where can I order the purple flekes? Thank you
Wow that purple actually looks good.
I don't get why people would ask why you would fully broadcast and cover the floor with flakes. You're not working with box stores kits that provide you with minimal flakes..lol I don't know of any professional contractors that wouldn't fully cover the floor with flakes.
Thanks!
I was surprised at how much I liked the purple too. Ha.
Best vid put out.
Great job
Thanks!

What manufacturers offer classes?
I'd like to do this with my wife. Just as supplemental income.
I’m not sure which manufacturers offer classes… but I have an online course that teaches everything you’d need to know.

People can’t believe I do this as a 1 man show.
💪🏻
You didn’t apply the primer?
That’s 🔥👍🏼❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I watched this video about your purple color. I live in Washington state bellingham to be exact. First do you know anyone who could do this for me. Or can you sell me all of the supplies I would need to do it?
1:48….are you freaking kidding me? It’s only OBVIOUS in every damn video
Do you have a job vacancy for me?
Maybe.

Am surprise you guys aren’t using masks, the smell of the epoxy is so strong.
Most good epoxies are 100% solids. No solvents to flash off, so the smell is not that bad.
Are these real questions? Like from real people? Do any of these people have common sense?
haha. Most are from Tiktok & seem to have no idea what we are doing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
That is very cool, but as I commented on another video, that is definitely NOT for me. I like USING my garage, & you'd never find a screw that falls... until your tire does.
It’s actually not hard to find them at all. The floor is glossy… you can see anything if you catch the light in the right direction.
@@TimDCVA Finding that "right direction" is the trick.
no masks while grinding?? yikes
We run dust shrouds with vacs on all of the grinders.
Please contact me at your convenience I would like more info.
