    I get so angry at myself when I didn't trust my gut instinct. I am angry that I know I knew better and yet I went against my better judgment. I feel disappointed, stupid and upset that I allow myself to be this foolish. My inner self keeps saying: "why wouldn't you listen, you knew it was a bad idea, I told you so, what an idiot..."
    This is what I'm going to say back to my inner self - there will be moments that I'm a dumb fuck, there will be moments that I'm a dick. And what happened was it was that moment.
    Being stupid when I knew better has taught me to trust you even more, even tho I knew it already. I'm sorry that I disappointed you but at that time, I lost control of my emotions and invited the drama that I never needed. I apologize for that cuz I owe it to you.
    Now it's the time to let that anger go, and while I cannot promise shit like that wouldn't happen again, I'd try my best to avoid second guessing myself and giving undeserving people a second chance to hurt me.
    I forgive myself for forgiving shitty people. I forgive myself for letting myself down. I forgive myself for being weak-minded. I am now equipped with a better sense of self from this experience. I can protect myself better because of this.
    Thank you.
    I can breathe now.

    I get a lot of self hate after acting out of anger from the anxiety I have.... I'm Glad I was passed on by a friend to watch your videos 🤙🏽

      Man if I could help you with one thing it would be to be easy on yourself and do your best simply to learn from every moment. The fact that you'd watch a video and even consider doing work inward says a lot. Definitely sending you all my best and tons of peace!

    I am 52 years old. Much of the anger that festered in me over the years was related to where I should be in life. I was often frustrated by not meeting what expectations I set up for myself in life when I was younger. Also what societal pressures tried to dictate where you should be in your life whether it be your success, relationship, financial status, career, mental health. What helps me every day is doing the best to live in the moment and to not dwell on these unrealistic past expectations that used to run my life. Thanks Dr. Conte for addressing the issue of where you “should” be. So helpful

    This is very informative. I am so angry at myself because of my own self-incompetence, making mistakes over the years and and to this day i kept making the same mistakes over and over again and it's frustrating. It will take me some time to learn from my mistakes but this will help me so much in the future.

    Dr Conte I watch Dr. Phil all the time looking for answers. All he ever does, if you notice, is argue the facts for the whole hour (you said this, no I didn’t, I got proof) with no real answers. I get more help and tips from your videos than I ever did from him. Although I am having a hard time implementing them because I am hard headed 😔. Thanks again - I hope you much peace, much likes and much subscribers!!😆

    I really agree with your statement about how we wouldn't be who we are today without the mistakes we made along the way. I believe these mistakes are not the sum of who we are its the action we take after recognizing our mistakes. Thanks for your videos i truely belive in Yeild Theory it is powerful knowledge!

    Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I've dealt with this plenty of times . When I do certain things I know I shouldn't have done and especially when I can't take it back . Regret is a really bad feeling and it's one of those things I never really truly get over . I've always had a problem just leting things go . I aways seem to dwell in a lot of things . So thank you for this . I got into a situation when I was at my moms in Florida . She tried to take my phone and she thought I physically attacked her when really I was just trying to grab my phone . Now I'm without my phone for a while cause the Management in my group home locked it up and I've beeen having phone withdawal symptoms and don't know how to get rid of them

    The biggest problem is the more you get angry at yourself that you messed up and dwell on it and if you act this way, then your shame, anxiety increase, which causes you to increase your self hate and lower your self esteem, which causes you to make another obvious stupid mistake and this time that may be even bigger than the original one since you feel desperate, you feel careless since you believe you deserve the distress of the badly made decisions... It ends up being in a vicious cycle of making similar mistakes and sometimes even worse than the previous time. So, need to accept that we need to drive the car forward no matter how rough the path is, if you feel stuck in mud, slow down, stop if necessary, calm down and find a calmer option to get unstuck from that mud but take as long as you need without falling into the trap of complete passive avoidance but just the time necessary to stop the panic. If you are still on a rough dirt road in a place you are lost, you can't increasingly get mad and keep dwelling that you would be in the highway already driving at 60mph... and would have arrived that destination x hours ago and already took a shower and had the ice cream and saved x amount of money along the way. If you keep thinking this, then coming out of the stuck mud and finding your way out of the dirt path would get harder and harder for so many reasons including mental and emotional problem solving capacity would be impaired, limited energy will deplete, the dark will descend due to the lost time spent on not doing the right thing to get out of that mud or to stop for an hour before trying again.

    What about if we have too strong of an anger emotion that we physically need to release it? Is there a healthy way to do that? Sometimes I get so angry (whether I am chased while trying to take a time out, or because of being called names and put down) that I physically need to put that energy out there to just get it out of me....does that make sense?? Is it ever okay to act out the energy we feel of anger? I act out my joy by jumping sometimes so I would assume it's okay and healthy to do something for anger?

    • @DrChristianConte
      @DrChristianConte  5 років тому +3

      Yes! 100%! Anger is a natural emotion, and it can be an incredible guide for us. I think it's so important to listen and learn from anger. But just think about that sentence: To "listen" and "learn" from it, rather than to react impulsively from it. I hope that helps! Definitely sending you all my best and tons of peace!
