Thanks for this video! I get asked how to do this all the time and your videos make it easy. Shared this out to my community of folks that want to start their own streams. Big fan!
I plan to stream from my bass boat via laptop and a data plan hot spot (I can power all this from my my lithium). I will have a wireless mic, a GoPro camera (I'll be fishing all weather) including importing my fish finder screen so people can see what I'm looking at through HDMI cable. I'm curious what would be the best laptop and or best recommendation specs to be able to do it.
I've done a bit of streaming and will watch for sure to get a few more tips! In the meantime, I was watching your intro in 0.25 speed to check out the transitions and graphics! Looks great!

Hello Michael I'm thinking start up my own streaming channel just watching obs steaming tutorial for UA-cam I'm wondering is there a way to add pre recorded audio before you steam then you can have your background music playing after ps fabulous video you helping newbie steamer starting out ...dave
I imagine the easiest way would be to create an audio track that has the pre-recorded part and then your music, looping if it needs to. That way you just have 1 piece of audio. The other way would be to create 2 different Beginning Soon scenes. You’d play the pre-recorded audio one, then switch to the other.
Hi Michael, thank for this video it helped me. I am wanting to transistion for Twitch to UA-cam but have found that things like the chat dock in OBS don't work (it has to be manually updated everytime) also chat bot commands don't work the way they used to in Twitch. Are more of these "advanced" items going to be dealt with in future videos? It just seems to me that Twitch is much more viewer chat and control friendly, whereas UA-cam does not allow viewer to control or interact with much? Am I correct in assuming this?
I have a question about setting up a live stream that I don't see covered in any videos anywhere......During the scheduling setup there is a camera setting that gives options for either HD Webcam or OBS Virtual Cam, which do I choose? I also am wondering if there's any way to assign multiple YT channels to OBS to be able to switch between them w/in the software?
I like your content, maybe in an upcoming video you can give advice on how to start a new UA-cam channel and monetize it from the very start. Is it a gradual growth thing?
You need to grow an audience before any monetization is possible. it takes time, but there are ways to monetize a stream from the start. I have dome videos on it.
@@MichaelFeyrerJr So, if I built an audience, I guess that's mostly views and subscribers, I guess UA-cam determines when I can start monetizing. If I'm on my 50th video can I go back and monetize the first 50 videos? Or videos 1 through 50 can never be monetized? I am going to start posting videos on my channel soon.

@@MichaelFeyrerJr I'm still getting used to using obs to be honest - I managed to get it set up though & did a test live stream, which was ok - would be better if I got fibre optic ran to my house though........
Thanks man, I've watched a ton of your videos and they're super helpful! But I really wish you'd cover setups for higher resolution streams and more unique configurations. All your tuts tend to be focused on 1080p settings with 1-2 audio tracks. I use a Cinema DCP 4K display usually at Full Container (1.90) 4096x2160 resolution, but I'd like to put out a 2k/60fps stream with my game running at a super widescreen resolution of 3840x1600. I don't have the upload speed to stream higher than 2K so I'm not sure what to set base, output and stream/recording resolutions to...
I guess my question is why? Go to your analytics and see what device a majority of viewers are watching on. More often than not its a phone. With that in mind they are probably not even watching it in HD because of data speeds and restrictions. Its not even that most streamers don't have the equipment or connection to properly stream in 4K (most dont) But most viewers cant watch it or don't want to because of the bandwith it takes to get it. Something to think about. You may actually be limiting your audience by trying to stream at such a high resolution depending on which platform and how it handles the re-encode.
@@MichaelFeyrerJr I appreciate the feedback, but right now my purpose is to stream tutorials on using a custom controller setup for a high fidelity video game, and rip the streamed footage later to chop up into videos for publishing, so the quality can't be too low or else it'd be hard to make out the visual overlay I created. The audience for this game is not your typical entertainment consumer and are used to high quality.
