He's not drinking beer, he's drinking tea with honey to keep his throat from drying out. If you take a close look at the variety of cups/glasses on the piano, his are different so he can quickly locate it during a set.
Here here, another reason was that he was worried about "burping" half way through a song with beer so stuck to his tea/lemon/honey, he loved his tea did our Freddie
Really happy to see young people enjoying and appreciating Freddie and Queen’s amazing timeless music. 🎼🎶 Just one reminder; please make sure to watch and listen to the end of the video you are reacting. The feeling is different when you stopped right before the music ended. Thank you.
Now you need to watch the Milton Keynes version of this song. It has a bluesy vibe. With a very different intro and end runs. Freddie said, if you perform a song the same way every time, you may as well stay home and listen to the album. So, every performance is a little different. Make sure you watch to the very end to see Freddie’s antics.
When Freddie gets up from the piano the second time, Brian May has some sort of problem with his guitar, you can see Freddie looking behind him to see what's happening. He keeps the audience participation going with John and Roger (keep it going) until Brian is ready to come back. Brian nods that he's okay now and the song continues. Absolutely seamless. They were such a tight, professional band. I love this performance. It's very different from the complex harmonies on the studio version but equally brilliant. Brian May has said that when they were doing a show, they knew what they were going to sing and in what order but every night was different and that's what kept things fresh for them and the audience. That's a band that knows what it's doing!!!
If you want to see the ultimate live performance, watch the video of Queen at Live Aid 1985. It wasn't just a Queen concert, but you'd never know that from the audience's reactions. Watch it, I promise you won't be disappointed.
In 1992, Brian, Roger & John participated in Freddie's Tribute Concert with various top lead singers performing Queen songs with the guys. In 1997, the three released a video and song for Freddie, "No One But You" and, also, performed Queen song "Show Must Go On" with Elton John. John (bassist) left the band after that, abandoning public appearances. We fans sure miss him!. He is the youngest at age 73 years old. Brian and Rog continued with projects and appearances and have been touring worldwide with lead singer Adam Lambert since 2012. They're known as Queen+.
About the band… Freddie Mercury, lead vocals, piano, guitar sometimes. Had a degree in graphic arts. Designed the band's logo and many of their early costumes. Died of AIDS in 1991. Brian May, lead guitar, backup vocals. Made his guitar with his dad while in his teens. After Freddie died, went back to finish his doctorate in astrophysics. Has worked with NASA. Works for animal rights. Knighted by Charles III. Roger Taylor, drums, backup vocals (the high notes). Has a degree in biology (was headed to dental schoool). John Deacon, bass. Electronic engineer. Built a lot of the equipment the band uses on stage. Doesn't like to sing. All 4 have written #1 songs and all are individually in the songwriting hall of fame. John retired after Freddie died. Brian and Roger are still performing (in their 70s) both solo and as Queen with Adam Lambert out front.
I've got a few more suggestions from this Montreal live HD concert please react to number one dragon attack number 2 save me number 3 play the game number fou r you're my best friend❤ thank you for your reaction Love Queen love Freddy what are legend
My all time favourite performance from them! So glad you reacted to this! We definitely need a reaction to Killer Queen/ I'm In Love With My Car Medley live also from Montreal 1981! 2 songs sung back to back! It's crazy and think you will enjoy it! 👍👌😎🔥💯🤘
On your other reaction to Somebody to Love I gave you a history of the guys in the band. They are all alive with the exception of Freddie who passed away in 1991. All 4 of these men are extremely talented and Freddie would always say that he is 25% of the band and it would not be Queen or successful without all 4 of them.
At 3:51 you comment is hilarious. Freddy does play the guitar. He played it during the 1985 Live Aid performance for the song "Crazy Little Thing Called Love". If you search youtube for "Live Aid 1985: Queen Full Set HQ" and skip to the 13:35 minute mark you will see it.
I agree with his Live Aid reaction he was constantly distracted and seemed to be constantly looking at another screen or dancing etc etc, very very distracting and off-putting ... sorry I did comment but he seems to be not taking the comments on board or even reading them
Queen was cool, their music remains cool. Deaky, Bass stopped his musical career due to Freddie's tragic loss...Roger, Drums and Brian Guitar kept Queens music out there employing a singer. Freddie, the legend remains wonderful.
Well... Everyone else is absolutely still alive! John retired from music after Freddie died, But Brian and Roger go on! They've been touring for years now with Adam Lambert, she sold out ARENAS!!!!!!! And I know it's hard to NOT concentrate on Freddie, but I can't believe that you're missing the BRILLIANCE of the other three! They're ALL LEGENDARY ICONS!!!!!!!!!!
@anne-mariesindruprix4792 .. agree to disagree.. pretty nearly just mentioning them as backing musicians... It's probably one of the reasons that they all supported and appreciated each other, and eventually started tagging all the songs as being written by Queen, instead of each individual... They were all fully aware of how important and integral each one of them was to the whole unit, and never took it for granted...
The other three are still alive, although John Deaon (bass guitar) quit after losing Freddie. He felt the band could never be the same without Freddie......and in my opinion, he was right. I'm not sure who they have playing bass and singing leads now.
For the last 12 years they have had Adam Lambert as lead singer. Spike Edney plays keyboard and other instruments if needed. He joined Queen in the eighties to make it possible for Freddie to leave the piano - but he was out of sight back stage. I don't remember the names of the others - but Roger's son Rufus played percussion when they first started out - also when Brian or Roger performed solo. I don't remember the names of the other three. Adam is a fabulous singer - some say the best alive - and he does not try to be Freddie -. You can hear it on a take from 2016 - singing "Who wants to live forever" - the day after the mass shooting in a gay nightclub. Being gay himself it made him very emotional and he dedicated the performance to the victims. Right now he is playing Emcee - the conferencier in "Cabaret" taking over from Eddie Redmaine - at Broadway . By the way - Emcee is gay too !
Since you mentioned the beer, you'll get some dumb comments saying Freddie never drinks beer onstage, even though he does. He's on camera drinking beer in Montreal '81 more than once. Unfortunately some Queen fans on YT are in denial or have poor eyesight. There are always 2 large clear plastic cups filled with beer directly in front of Freddie on the piano in their live videos, including at Live Aid in 1985. The small ones are Dixie cups filled with water. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ With show time approaching, towels and drinks for the band’s refreshment on stage would now be strategically placed: water and beer for Fred, beer for Brian and Roger and the Backstage Bar for John, comprising water, beer, soft drinks, wine and whatever spirit or cocktail he fancied at the time: Southern Comfort, vodka or tequila - Peter Hince (aka Ratty), Fred’s and John’s roadie and head of Queen’s crew.
Freddie loved his beer but told he stayed away from it while on stage because he was worried in case he "burped" while singing a song or had gas so he stuck to water or tea/lemon/honey which gave the look of beer, however he did have the odd occasion when he dabbled whilst on stage. Freddie was so into his tea and had to be woken up by Phoebe at the same time every morning with a cup of tea, whether he be still hung over or had only just got in !!!
I must say I hate what you did. Cutting Freddie’s biggest moment in this iconic song right at the wrong moment. And NO it’s not beer it’s honey for Freddie’s throat… then you cut off Freddie’s famous last punch. I almost unsubscribed but I and other Queenie’s think you might be worth saving 😰😫
I have tried numerous times but he seems to be not reading his comments, is easily distracted with either singing or acting daft or looking at another screen on his Live Aid video, people have already given him a history of the band but he's asking the same question so I'll try one more time and then am certainly unsubscribing
Great reaction, however people are giving you a history of the band and you've watched Live Aid reaction, it seems to me you're not reading your comments, being distracted to something else or not watching the reaction videos to the end and missing bits but keep saying you want to learn more about the band, sorry !!
Queen, best band ever!!!!!
Roger Taylor's drumming and background vocals are epic. You are hearing 4 lads, with no electronic trickery. Just pure talent.
Definitely my favorite version of this song ❤. You can also get a taste of how good Roger Taylor’s (the drummer) voice is. He’s fantastic ❤❤
Really happy to see young people enjoying and appreciating Freddie and Queen’s amazing timeless music. 🎼🎶
Just one reminder; please make sure to watch and listen to the end of the video you are reacting. The feeling is different when you stopped right before the music ended. Thank you.
You must wait till the very end of video.
Freddie puts his heart and soul into everything he does. Freddie taking us to church.
R.I.P FREDDIE WE MISS YOU
One of my favorite live songs is, Who wants to live forever, live in Budapest
You missed Freddie’s knockout punch at the end.
Never cut Freddie off!
@@ellet6560NEVER EVER !!!!
That’s a BIG no-no!!!

Freddie fue y es un regalito que sigue acompañando, más Queen!!❤❤

He puts on the guitar in "Crazy little Thing called love" :D (Live Aid)
Go ahead and listen to the Milton Keynes version. It is sung in a blues style. And don’t turn off until video is over. You will miss something.
Yes, I second that. The Milton Keynes performance is also great.
Love of my life (Rio)
My all time favourite performance from them! So glad you reacted to this! We definitely need a reaction to Killer Queen/ I'm In Love With My Car Medley live also from Montreal 1981! 2 songs sung back to back! It's crazy and think you will enjoy it!

Yeah he doesn’t
Find someone else to talk smack on

Still alive? Good lord, they are still filling stadiums.
The intro is great but I prefer the intro from Milton Keynes 1982
bohemian rhapsody next
I did that already
Just a friendly suggestion:
When you turn off the video before the very end, it looks like you’re in a hurry to get it over with.

Not picking up on the brilliance of the others is a CRIME !!!!
Mentioning that they really fit together is not missing the brilliance of the other three - - .
@anne-mariesindruprix4792 .. agree to disagree.. pretty nearly just mentioning them as backing musicians...
