This was sung by Freddie in one take. Brian wasn’t sure Freddie would be able to hit the high parts (because he was so ill) and in true Freddie fashion he said I’ll fu€
This song could not be done live because Freddie Mercury unfortunately was very unwell and at the end of his time this song The Show Must Go On was written by Brian May the guitarist.
This song is so sad because Freddie was very ill making it. Great video with great sense of rhythm and amusing illustration of lyrics. Like “ Empty spaces” and you see thousands of people. Freddie loved to laugh. Shout out to the producers Rudi Dolezal and Hannes Rossacher.
The Show Must Go On wasn't performed live. At this time, Freddie was descending into his illness and this official video was a compilation of previous videos. Freddie dressed as a 'cow' was the middle sequence of the video that got Queen banned in the States because the band dressed in drag. The song was I Want To Break Free. Freddie was actually portraying a mythical faun, a creature associated with forests, fields, and herds. The costume pays homage to the ballet dancer, Vatslav Nijinsky and the costume that he is illustrated wearing as drawn by the French illustrator, Georges Barbier. The drag sequence is shot in what looks like the set of the comedy series Sykes that was popular at the time - If it isn't, then it is very like it. A house in an ordinary suburban setting in the north of England. Very much like the setting of the soap opera, Coronation Street, that has been running now, continuously, for just over sixty years.
I’ve watched a few of your Queen reactions and you are making me laugh as you get to know Freddie. He does what he wants and enjoys himself. I think you would like under pressures Live at Wembley. 😁👍🏾
If you google “The Show Must Go On live video”. The first UA-cam listed for March 29, 2021. This is a live version someone posted in 2021. Other comments are wrong. There are some songs with no video this is not one of them. Glad you found Queen.
Freddie was too ill to make a video by this time so a montage of previous vids are used. The clip of the boys in ladies' clothing is from the video for "I Want to Break Free". They were parodying a long running British Soap Opera, "Coronation St.". Better to react to the studio version first to avoid distraction. Freddie chose the name, Queen (changing their then name from "Smile"). He said it was regal, grand and memorable.
If you want to see an amazing crowd check out Metallica in Russia in 91 doing Enter Sandman. It will blow your mind. as for Queen: Check out Killer Queen on Tops of the Pops. Also do Fat Bottomed Girls, crazy Little Thing Called Love, Breakthru
Simply incredible! These are a combination of clip from multiple queen music videos
Freddie came up with the name, because, it was outrageous and had many connotations.
