ಸರ್ ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ 40 ಹಲಸಿನ ಮರಗಳಿವೆ. ನಮ್ಮಪ್ಪ ಮುಂದೆ ಲಾಭ ಬರಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಿದ್ದರು. ನಮ್ಮ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಅವುಗಳಿಂದ ಬರುವ ಆದಾಯದ ಮೇಲೆ ಡಿಪೆಂಡ್ ಆಗಿಲ್ಲ .ಈಗ ಕಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇವಲ ಹತ್ತು ರೂಪಾಯಿಗೆ ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ತುಂಬಾ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆ ಉರಿಯುತ್ತೆ, ಅದೇ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಆತ ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ 100 ರೂಪಾಯಿಗೆ ಮಾರುತ್ತಾನೆ .ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮಪ್ಪನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾರುವ ಬದಲು ಯಾರಾದರೂ ಕೇಳಿದವರಿಗೆ, ತಿನ್ನುವರಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟುಬಿಡಿ ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅವರು ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯನ್ನು ಆದರೂ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಹತ್ತು ರುಪಾಯಿಗೆ ಮಾರಿ ಅಷ್ಟು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕಾಯಿಗೆ ಅವಮಾನ ಮಾಡಬೇಡಿ ಅಂತ.

(Dealers were asking for just 2 rupees per mango, our manure cost what we had fed to our mango trees was 4 times higher than what we were supposed to get if mangos were sold)

ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲೂ 5-6ಲಿಂಬೆ ಗಿಡಗಳಿವೆ.. ಸಾವಯವದಲ್ಲೇ ಬೆಳೆಯೋದು. ಬೇಸಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಡೋದಾದ್ರೆ 4-5ರೂ ಒಂದು ಲಿಂಬೆಗೆ ಸಿಗುತ್ತೆ. ಮಳೆಗಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರೂ ಕೇಳೋರಿಲ್ಲಾ.. ಗಿಡದಿಂದಲೇ ಕಿತ್ತು ಪೆಟ್ಟಾಗದವನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಆರಿಸಿ ಪೇಟೆಗೆ ಹೋಗುವಾಗ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರಿಗೂ ಅಷ್ಟಷ್ಟು ಹಂಚುತ್ತೇನೆ.
ಲಿಂಬೆ ಗಿಡ ನೆಡುವಾಗಲೇ ನಾನು ಹಣ ಸಂಪಾದಿಸುವ ಕನಸು ಕಂಡವನಲ್ಲಾ. ಅಂಗಡಿಯವರು 1ಕ್ಕೆ 1 ರೂ ಕೊಟ್ಟರೂ ನಾನು ಮಾರುವುದಿಲ್ಲಾ. ಕೃಷಿ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಖುಷಿಗಾಗಿ,. ಹಂಚಿದಾಗ ಸಿಗುವ ಖುಷಿ 3 ಕಾಸಿಗೆ ಮಾರಿದಾಗ ಸಿಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇಡಿಕೆ ಇರುವುದನ್ನು ಸಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಬೆಳೆಯಬೇಕೇ ವಿನಃ ಬೆಲೆ ಸಿಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲಾ ಎಂದು ಕೋಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ಅರ್ಥವಿಲ್ಲ.
