  • Hello guys! This is the wonderful Alfa Romeo 164 V6 Turbo, the famous and glorious BUSSO engine! This is the first driving and reaction of this example and in this way I try to understand everything that could be wrong. It is not always possible for the owner, the driver or the previous workshops to have an effective and clear perception of the problems and symptoms. It is therefore crucial to confirm all customer symptoms and complaints before proceeding with a repair. The only way to start "on the right foot" is to be prepared for what awaits us!

One of my favourite 90-s car exterior 👍

I think the 166 was the best built Alfa by a big margin. I've not seen the latest offerings up close, but compared to the 156, the 166 was in a different league. Interested to see what you find on this 164. I had a couple of aspirated 3.0 164 in the past - great cars. Just be happy that 164 isn't a 24V! That early 24V version of the Busso was awful IMO.
Like you, I'm sure the speedo sensor is in the gearbox (on the diff housing), and not derived from the ABS as on later cars.

Sounded like a Harley Davidson at the beginning (0:20) - but one really nice Alfa - you don't get to see them here at all these days, so nice to see (and hear) one on your channel. Flying machine. As for the brake fluid - it doesn't happen much here in the UK, unless something is being replaced of course. I've seen 'mechanics' draining old oil or old antifreeze and reusing it - I wouldn't do that, but there we are... We spoke about this before. Another common problem with brakes - cleaning and greasing the caliper sliders, etc. Again, most people don't bother, just change pads and that's it. Again, brake lines are ofter overlooked at servicing. Great video, lovely car. Stay motivated! :)

Hello, how are you? Here in Portugal aftermarket is almost non existent. But in England several companies dedicate to Alfa Romeo. Alfa Restoration being one of the biggest.
