Internet Volunteers Track Down Birth Families
Вставка
- Опубліковано 13 січ 2019
- These people are meeting biological relatives for the first time - thanks to a group of volunteers. The Search Squad group on facebook has around 100 volunteer "search angels" who scour birth records and websites to find the birth relatives of adoptees. Many people who were adopted as children would like to meet their birth relatives, but it can often be an extremely expensive and time-consuming process. Search Squad, on the other hand, does it for free - and sometimes astonishingly quickly. In this documentary, we follow search squad search angel Susie Mathis as she explains how to find relatives over the internet, the tools they use to do so, and why she began volunteering. We also follow the journey of people searching for biological family members with the help of the search squad--and witness the powerful impact as people meet their birth relatives for the first time in their lives.

I know a girl who just found her father after 49 years. He wasnt even aware of the pregnancy. I wish someone could document their reunion.
This is amazing i was about 16 when I found out that I had a brother that my mom had given up for adoption and the crazy thing is that I knew him for years but just didn't know we were brothers

God bless this woman
With her time down from her illness
She still helps people ..
I just love stories like this! I never thought l would have a first cousin looking for us after 64 years! My uncle was never told and hope to meet him by the end of the month! We are all dying to meet! He deserves to know who gave him life, everyone does!
Oh man he’s really handsome and manly! Love his voice. Congratulations for your sweet discovery.
I've always wondered about my bio family. Not so much parents, but everybody else. The possibility of another sibling, cousins and grandparents.
Echo I hope you find what you are looking for 👍
Same. I was fortunate to be adopted into a loving family as an infant, but 56 years later I continue to wonder. It's almost as if feel a little bit 'incomplete'.
I needed this wholesome thing today. Wow. Thank you for changing lives!
What can I do to get work like this? I’ll never meet the rest of my family, but getting others to theirs is...beautiful.
jezebel324 I just helped my bf track his birth family.
Trying to meet them is another story. Very hard

I have a half brother from my mothers side that I have never met. I'm 45 yrs old now and my mother was diagnosed with Dementia, I wanted to know if you could help my family find my brother before my mother forgets her whole life please?. Thank you in advanced.
Excellent and a sure rewarding job........
Great work guys.
Thanks for watching!
Happy tears after watching this video, hopefully some day i can connect my mother with her birth father. The 60's where a different time where the father was not given the option to raise as easy as now a days. As far as she was told he wanted her but her mother was forced to give my mom up for adoption. She has since reconnected with her mother, my grandmother, they look like twins! LOL I hope my other grandfather is around still but hopefully either we get closure for my mom.
I started with ancestry.
Damn this makes me tear up. I was adopted from Kazakhstan when I was 3 and I’d love to meet them one day.
This is beautiful
God bless these folks.. they certainly have earned the name of ANGELS ♡ I know the kindness of an angel completed my story and gave me the answers I so needed to be whole again♡
Why im I cutting onions while watching this?!
Awesome 💜💜
Now.....Why am I crying?
Thats so nice
Hi Angels , my case is a very hard one. I am a white male age 53 born here in Chicago. Raised by a single mom. My mom was age 15 when she met my birth dad at a college dorm party. She got pregnant, only saw him that one night in 1955 n that's all we know. I recently did a ancestry DNA test n found some cousins that must be on his side but no matches. I'm a happy person but it does bother me so much not knowing where he is, if I have siblings etc. Thanks for listening.
I clicked on an ad,😂😂. I didn’t know they were where I live 😁😁😁😁
Ads are everywhere.
Being separated from family is real fucked up

Did dis chick actually just sent a sad face after telling someone "She died" XD wtf i dont like that this is how our language is being transformed
I disagree. Sometimes you just don't have the words. And expressing sympathy to someone is really difficult.
@@tiat3137 using emoji's just seems cliche and less serious. "my brother is missing :(". that just looks horrible tbh.
Yeah, it seemed a little blunt to me, and the emoji didn't help.

With the upmost respect to everyone on here, please be careful what you search for and what you wish for, as not everyone, though blood related, may not have the same heart as you. Where you may be welcoming and open, you may find them to be closed off and downright abusive, hate stalking, instances of hacking and trolling, slandering and overstepping their boundaries. Please weigh your options carefully in order to potentially avoid anyone else’s issues that you did not knowingly subscribe to. Ancestral trauma is very real and you must be careful to not unknowingly attract a scapegoat scenario. I choose to be transparent in hopes that it can help one person. God Bless🙏

I finally felt home.. ungrateful grown man...
I was put up for adoption in 1990 and have been trying to find my biological brother for some time with no luck. I feel like there's a hole in me that I can't fill. I always wonder if he's ok. I didn't care about the situation much when I was young. Actually didn't care at all but as I've gotten older..
How's the search going so far?
H'all come they never show the reunions where one gets punched in the face?
How* Lmao though.
😳
calm down robert
In my prays
yea i was thinking the same thing they all were living like a family but they left their son to another family...
My dad was adopted at 6 months old during 1965, his adopted parents were terrible people and he was adopted from a Private Adoption Clinic. He wanted to find his Birth Parents but died when I was 11 and I'd like to at least know who they might have been. Can't even find his Birth or Adoption Papers :/
Iam sitting on a toilet and crying 😭😭😭😭😭wtf.😭😭😭😭😭 I love this 😢❤
Apparently people don't know about adopted people. I was adopted in 1975 and people exploiting me keep carrying on who exploit my identity every day. I had adults try to get my original birth certificate in 2019. Illegally. On a closed adoption. There are some people that are so deluded that they don't believe I could have children with other women before I met my ex wife in 2006. There were never any women between 2006-2019 besides my ex wife. I met her when I was 33. People are so deluded they think I couldn't have birth relatives now that I can search for them. For some reason I am being obstructed from Alabama from contacting north Carolina to find my history.
I love this
I need help finding my brother who was adopted in 1989
I would love to find my 2 grandchildren Veronca Monca
My adopted brother is looking for his family but has no information he was born in the 60s and apparently left at a nunnery he has no name and we are pretty sure his birthday is unknown he has done DNA on several sights with out finding anyone. Any suggestions where he looks from a place with no information?
Have you had a search angel look at the DNA matches? Genetic genaology can help solve the mystery if the DNA test is done ♡
Lovely story but the music is dreadful
Please help me, I'm lost without my son.
I am searching for my biological dad, it's an empty feeling not knowing
Im adopted. found my birth mother now looking for my birth father. he was a cook at the army base up here in /canada and she was a waitress, He was Greek and she was German. would the base give out that info, He was a civilian cook.
Am I the only one who never really cared about my birth family? Idk why, since I guess it should be important, but it's just never seemed that way to me. I think of my birth family as some distant relatives who I don't really need to meet, since I have my adoptive family that just kind of became my "real" family. Is that just because I was placed in a home with a good connection, do you think?
That is your real family. When someone adopts you they raise you as their own and so you are their real daughter
I wish I could turn the music down. No- off.
5:45 I don't know why, but she kind of looks like the mom from home alone
Your loss is our sauce
I wish I never have gotten to meet my mother they say let sleeping dogs lay that is the one time I should have listened
Karen Jane Bell looking for my brother Nicholas Andrew Nigel Jackson .he was born in London but was taken to Australia by his adoptive parents they were from London.

My siblings & I were all separated at young ages. We have all but 1 found eachother. We don't know how to find the only brother we have. He & I are the 2 siblings that have the same Father.
