Approximately 2,300 Americans are reported missing every day. This includes both children and adults. Do you think law enforcement has enough recourse to deal with each individual case. And plus people with the ability to hack aren't spending their time working for a PD. They are doing stuff which can earn them a lot more money.
@FM D Youre not saying anything new. Yeah corruption exists and it always will. And most countries have it. "Ohh the world is all about money" and "Ohh the system is broken" is pretty much the most generic thing you can say. You're generalizing. You're basicall talking about a revolution in a time where people actually should just be wary of shady guys who are coughing and are closer than 5 feet to you.
Glad someone is doing something for those loved ones of the missing people. I’ve always told my children that I would never leave them willingly and if something like that ever did happen that the only thing stopping me from coming home was my heart stopped beating.
This is incredible that someone had this idea, and used their skills for good! I bet the families his group has helped couldn't have imagined they would've been helped this way.
I don’t care what incentive they have, they are helping families that probably had no one searching for their loved one after their first initial search. I think what they are doing is so incredibly worthwhile, I mean, what do they have to lose by using this service?!? I commend this group for stepping up when everyone else stepped back.
Waamy I have to disagree with you right there. It’s so UNNATURAL to NOT want to help someone with nothing to gain from it. Self centered and self absorbed people think the other way.
Sometimes that's a good thing. I mean imagine if you could see this. Number of people searching for you: ... *1* Location: Near. Far. Wherever you are.
There are two options if there is anyone missing. 1. Ask some hackers that have nothing else to do. 2. Toss it to Twitter and Tik Tok and let the teens find them too.
If you toss it to Twitter and Tik Tok, it would become public knowledge which person is being searched for. If they have been kidnapped or trafficked, it would just alert the criminals.

Hackers have such a negative reputation -- this is an overwhelmingly righteous service to the community and beyond. Hope this takes off in other areas of the world.
Well most hackers you "encounter" everyday are black hats when you download a virus or get all your files encrypted and they ask for a ransom. People don't see the thousands of white hats that spend their days making things more secure.
Well, 9/10 hackers are just evil people. And the 1/10 is still pretty evil, just does some good deeds when bored. Doesn't lift the veil of guilt from the others, or themselves, though. Think of the lives they've already ruined. The identities they've stolen. The money they've stolen. The reputations they've destroyed. And so on. If a cop punches me 50 times in the face and then offers me an apple, I'm not gonna thank him for the apple.
@@kiyaleelevyrunaya9495 See, you're among the people who only sees the black hats. What a brilliant idea. Ask 10 people and each of them will have noticed something different when viewing an event. For example @5:16, I noticed a busker playing a Parker Fly because I love electric guitars. Others will see stuff I know nothing about. It's the same online. As each person contributes something new it paints a picture that helps investigators crack cases and makes everyone a contributor.
All jokes aside, this kind of help is priceless to families of missing persons. I can’t imagine how helpless they probably feel when the police let them down. Knowing that someone out there can shed some light on their loved ones’ whereabouts is incredible. I really hope this project continues to grow and give families closure.
You are right, it feels completely helpless. When you have a missing loved one and the police cannot/will not help. I know this firsthand. 😞 luckily after 15 years of searching, I found them on my own 🙏🏻

"We've gameifed something serious", I don't know. I think proper incentivization is important for some people, especially goal oriented people. This is a great way to get people to do something they might not usually go out of their way for.
Someone who has worked in IT for a long time and had friends in security. This is awesome to see and just hope they don't forget that there is a lot of offline data aquistion that needs to be done. I worked in both Telco's and goverment agencies over the years and can tell you its not only a resource problem but also a technology access problem (@ telco we did stuff for police and in a test we triangulated a cell phone, then used live GIS satelittes to look at that location and see whats going on and also confirmed other cellphones in the area), there are lots of other things Nokia phones have had remote access since early phones & most phones can be tracked even if offline due to the gps chips list goes on. It all takes time to get approval or even have access and a lot of the time hackers can and will use that stuff legit or not if you are paying them to find someone

@FM D I'm intrigued. I would like to hear more please
Approximately 2,300 Americans are reported missing every day. This includes both children and adults. Do you think law enforcement has enough recourse to deal with each individual case. And plus people with the ability to hack aren't spending their time working for a PD. They are doing stuff which can earn them a lot more money.
@@bueno_oneub_0 yeah and its also not like the hackers made much progress in the video.

Hi average Arab!!! 👋
LMAOOO 😂 💀🙈😭
Hackers have such a negative reputation -- this is an overwhelmingly righteous service to the community and beyond. Hope this takes off in other areas of the world.
Well most hackers you "encounter" everyday are black hats when you download a virus or get all your files encrypted and they ask for a ransom. People don't see the thousands of white hats that spend their days making things more secure.
Probably because of how many peoples lives have been ruined by hackers.... Yeah. I think thats why.
What a fucking goon.
There are white hats and black hats just like with anything…some use their power for evil and others for good….
You completely ignore the thousands of security experts, aka white hats, working every day to make our lives safer on the internet. For every black hat trying to do bad deeds, there's a white hat trying to prevent those black hats from doing so.

For example @5:16, I noticed a busker playing a Parker Fly because I love electric guitars. Others will see stuff I know nothing about. It's the same online. As each person contributes something new it paints a picture that helps investigators crack cases and makes everyone a contributor.

Wonderful work. Even if the person who has gone does not want to be found (which actually is quite common) at least the police could tell the family they have found them and the person is safe.
"We've gamified something serious." I don't think it's necessarily negative. That's a very small "price" (or reward) for such a tremendous service!
