During your trip in Romania, you skipped the most amazing place there. Between Bucharest and Brasov there is a town called Sinaia. Near to this town there are two very beautiful castles - Peleș Castle and Pelisor castle.
Gabe, you are one brave man...to venture into those woods and up those hills....in the snow. Shows your commitment and hard work towards your channel. Cheers
that dessert at the end is called Papanashi, and it's the most traditional romanian desserts ever, and might i add very delicious. it's a cream cheese batter with sour cream and sour cherry jam on top.
You should have followed the path. It takes a while to get to the top, but it's not really misleading. It's like a snake, it's called the Serpentine Path, but it takes you to the spot which has the best views. When you asked those girls about a tram to the top they were confused because they wouldn't call it a tram, but a cable cab or a cable car. If you happen to return to Romania, get a ride on the ones in Bușteni and Sinaia, which are not far from Brașov. The Bucegi Mountains are amazing. Spectacular views!
Love you when you admit to making a mistake. But you keep plodding on to reach destination. You got courage, bro! A great travel guide to let us accompany.
WTF! You just climbed the mountain while it was covered in snow, without a shirt on, because the tram railway was closed on Sunday? You got really extreme here!
Hello Gabriel. Here is a tidbit of info. In the movie Van Helsing, the main character whose name is Gabriel Van Helsing goes to Transylvania to slay the villain Dracula.
And omg at the very end, that desert looks like papanasi....what did you think of them?? Seeing that triggered this crazy gastronomical nostalgia that can only be satisfied by going back to Romania..
Next time, when you come in Romania, please ask a romanian guy, what to do, what to see. :) About your hiking, the normal path that seems to be a long one , is about 30 minutes of hiking, and a safe path (without your dangerous shortcut) and you must go to panorama view (at the sign BRASOV, you have a place named panorama view) ... and you missed a lot of things in Brasov and in general in Romania. (next time in Bucharest, brasov, cluj use the Uber or Taxify app) In general, try to use the uber where you can.
Did I just witness Gabe Grylls in the wilds of Romania! Good job you didn't come across a Bear, or a Lynx, would've run a mile 😂😂 seriously now, consistently brilliant content, Thanks Gabriel..
Yeah a lynx isn't likely to attack a human. That would be amazing to see, but they're super duper rare. A bear would be scarier for sure. I bet they aren't very big around there though.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos I'm not trying to scare you but we have them here in Ontario Canada. A black bear was struck and killed by a vehicle here a few years ago that weighed over 700 pounds. They're throughout North America. Thanks for the video BTW. That's a beautiful town square.
Yeah, I've seen tons of bears in the wild, both black bears and grizzlies. I worked in Alaska and Canada. See this video: ua-cam.com/video/2E-gW2tI3EA/v-deo.html
I love low season travel because it's cheap & there are few tourists, but then there are shitty days when things are closed and you just have to adapt.
It's actually even bigger than you realize. There is another part of modern Brasov on the other side of the mountain peak you're on. What you were seeing from where you climbed isn't even half of it. Just look at the Google Maps aerial view to see how tiny the old town is compared to the rest of the city.
Hello everyone, I always find it funny that as Americans we always hope everyone speaks English when they so rarely do. Way to go Beast Mode blaze that trail! Locals seem so nice great place.
A blessed good day sir Gabriel thank u Again so much for your nice Snowie sunny day in Romania a very beautifful.nay historical nice buildings keep safe always sir Gabriel Godbless u from your solid fan viewer from the philippines sir vhin 🇵🇭🇵🇭👏👏🙂🙂👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👍
You got a bit confused about the bad trails all the way up an unmarked "alpineists trail" you reached a 30 meter high rock you bypassed and you got above it where you filmed down .. When you walk on the trails try to keep marking 😁 are from Brasov and trekking
Are you still in Brasov Gabe? I really hope you check out Sighisoara and Rasnov fortress before heading to Cluj-Napoca. Sibiu is really worth it (although out of the way a bit) if you have the time. Romania is at the crossroads of the Balkans and Central Europe, and you can see that in the fascinating culture and buildings. Safe travels my man!
I'm in Prague now. I did go to Sighisoara and Bran Castle, didn't make it to Rasnov but I saw it from the bus going to Bran. That will be the next video.
Awesome vid, heard you are im prague, you should check out a cool little town in CZ named jablonec nad nisou. Cool place I went to on my brothers tour, about an hour north of prague. Town became wealthy off of glass and jewelry after the war I believe. Cheap and great beer everywhere lol
It's cable car or funicular. Tram is that thing on ground on electricity. Tram comes from tramway. In Romanian is "tramvai" from "tramway". @@mariatab7359
Nice Gabriel! Wow I was in the same places during the same time! Unfortunately I wasn't filming for youtube. My business allows me to travel a lot, all I need is a laptop and smartphone. Im starting to begin to make videos of my travels. Maybe I'll run into you! Best of Luck man keep making awesome videos!
Gabriel, you have to try "svickova" in a czech Restaurant. One of my favorite dishes :) sadly, prague ist overcrowded by tourists. if you want to avoid them go to vysehrad in prague
It wasn't too long, probably about an hour altogether to get up there. It wasn't really that far, just tough because of the winding route and the snow.
Spurious Flatus cool! my grandfather was WW2 fighter pilot he flew bi-planes! I love our military! when i was in boot camp...our boots were so stiff! lots of foot problems! when they got broken in they were best friends to u
Spurious Flatus aww I'm heartbroken! My son did ROTC all thru highschool to be an army pilot... He found out he was color blind in 11th grade . My heart to yall
Great video Gabriel. Question though...How do you stay so fit? I know that you walk and hike a lot but you seem to eat whatever you want and usually try wine or beer and sometimes dessert. I eat really healthy, stay away from sweets, have occasional beer and wine and hike and walk a lot but always have an extra 5 pounds.
Different people have different genes and metabolisms basically. I don't do anything special, it wouldn't matter if I sat on the couch all day and ate junk food, I'd probably still stay thin. But of course eating healthy and exercising helps a lot. I can't say I eat super healthy but I do get plenty of exercise walking, hiking and carrying a backpack.
Marc Hauck Keep the fish, remove any other meat. What about cheese and milk products? Those are bad. Gluten based foods are bad(wheat, barley, rye, oat). Carbs are healthy. Think fruits: good carbs. Processed sweets(candy, pastry): bad carbs. Humans run on sugar, just not processed sugar. Stay away from anything milk-gluten-processed sugar related and you're already eating very healthy. Remove all meats, but fish and you're thriving. You'll wish to exercise, thus lose weight and get in good shape. Do all this gradually...think...12-14 months. Best!
totally get that you must be all traveled out, however, you could next month have gone on into Eastern Europe and Russia, which has lifted any visa requirements in the World Cup?
The countries I've been in the past month are all considered eastern Europe: Bulgaria, Romania and now the Czech Republic. I didn't know about Russia lifting the visa requirements.
Awesome, as always. I hope there will be videos from Sighisoara and Cluj as well. Also, are you planning to visit any other city/town in the Czech Republic than the Prague?

Now that's something crazy 😂
Superb 👍
Very interesting and a good video.
Like your videos following you since India Himalayan trip
Great, thanks a lot Sameer.
Why don't you use I-translate or Google Translate for words like tram in Romanian?
i did: tram = tramvai (that works only on the ground in the city), the translation is wrong
It's cable car or funicular. Tram is that thing on ground on electricity. Tram comes from tramway. In Romanian is "tramvai" from "tramway". @@mariatab7359

Nope, never heard of it. I guess I'll have to check it out sometime.
I checked the spelling: it is en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bad_Gastein I visited there in the late 80's. It was magical!
