    Now I can see how they make such great movies in Romania... It's a heaven for movie directors! So beautiful yet has a weird melancholic vibe to it... It's like the whole place is a character itself! I love it... Great job Gabriel!

    Romania is a hidden gem . I wish more Americans knew how awesome this country is. Romania is absolute beautiful and fasinating. People there are great. I can't wait to go back in a few months. To bad you are there on a gloomy winter day. Constanta is full of history and very vibrant. GREAT beaches and plenty of nightlife. Wait until you get to Transylvania. It is amazing.

    Romania, yes!! Great description, it really is a mysterious place. In Europe, and when you look at the architecture, totally European, like...more central European. However, at the same time, such a special, exotic country! Definitely has character. And the mystique.
    Safe travels and enjoy! Thanks for showing us these places most of us would otherwise never see!

    I love watching travel videos but for once this one struck me for showing the downside to this kind of travelling. You just walk through a place and get a superficial look at it and then you're off again.
    This video broke my heart because I love Constanța and this made it look like a corner of hell. That part of the old centre is creepy in parts and certainly there are a lot of derelict buildings although they are slowly being repaired. The reason I love it is because one of my closest friends is Romanian and that is her hometown. She has taken me and some other friends there to spend time with her friends and family. My memories of Constanța are sitting in the yard of her friend's house eating and drinking and singing (and drinking) till late at night. Of calling round to someone's flat for a few minutes and still being there three hours later having been fed - again. It's of the warmth and love of the people who have very little but will share what they have. I started learning Romanian last year just because I love these friends in Constanța so much.
    This is what you miss walking around with a camera pointed at yourself. These films ARE amazing to watch but unless you get to know some people there and spend some time with them and maybe even learn the language don't forget they are nothing more then a very brief and limited impression. That is all they claim to be so I'm not criticising that. It's just worth reminding yourself.

    • @GabrielTravelerVideos
      @GabrielTravelerVideos  6 років тому +4

      All true. Also it's a lot different in winter. As a traveler you only get a glance. It took me six months to complete this trip from Singapore to Finland, despite staying a short amount of time in each place. That's the traveling experience, you don't get the chance to fully experience a place unless you live there or at least stay for a few months and meet the people.

    Sighisoara is interesting if you have the time. A walled medieval town in Transylvania. Surrounded by stunning countryside.Brasov is great too. I was in Romania February 2016. Winter is my favourite time to travel. Less people! Although Brasov is near ski resorts so was relatively busy. Sibiu is good too.Another excellent video. Thanks.

    We were there last summer, Romania is the hidden gem of Europe! Mamaia one of Constanta's districts is the most expensive summer resort at the Black Sea. Not a good advice to go there in the winter, it looked also very windy.. PLUS YOU MUST UNDERSTAND SOMETHING! Romania is projected for malls, if they aren't home or at the malls, they are outside in the mountains for holidays. The towns are deserted in the winter, the students go home and the rest are leaving for the mountains usually... Half of 300k are gone!

    I was in Constanta in april-1990 on a USA merchant ship.I met some really NICE people there,took some nice videos.At this particular time Constanta had the fourth largest commercial sea port in Europe.This was 5 months after the revolution and business's were allowed to stay open longer.I cetainly hope those citizens have more freedoms now.I remember that a draft beer was 6cts American and a glass of wine was 7cts.

    HELLO I FROM ROMANIA CONSTANTA I GLAD TO SEE YOU HERE

    Pretty depressing in winter, that's how Constanta is. If you're going to the Republic of Moldova, I recommend you first to visit Iasi, the second largest city of Romania, then you can go to Chisinau. You can reach Chisinau directly by train from Fri to Sun. There's a special train to Chisinau that departs from Gara Socola Iasi in the afternoon.

    you need to come to Costanta in summer time , is a blast especially in Mamaia , and is kinda empty cause you come in winter time , in summer the streets are full

    Constanta has a free walking tour . You just missed the most narrow street in town , walked by it. It looks like you missed the roman mosaic too. Constanta is 2600 years old . The ancient name was Tomis. The town is totaly different in summer .

    I can say Constanta is just dead on winter period . But on summer prices gets double on everything and you can barely walk on beach and around .
